Four official advisories say to avoid all travel to Bahrain as of 2026-05-15. Four others advise avoiding non-essential travel, and active notices also flag regional escalation, flight or airspace disruption, border restrictions, demonstrations, and local-authority instructions.
What Is Being Advised
Avoid all travel to Bahrain unless your own government gives narrower, current instructions for your nationality or circumstances. If you are already in Bahrain, monitor official updates, follow local authority instructions, and shelter in place if told to do so.
Postpone tourist trips and non-urgent travel. The strongest current official advice in this set is avoid all travel. Several governments use softer labels.
Stay away from areas around security or military facilities and US-linked locations. One official advisory says regional escalation has created significant security risks and travel disruption, and names US-linked organizations, businesses, facilities, and institutions as locations to avoid.
For necessary movement, check carrier, airport, border, and local authority updates before moving. Official notes mention flight disruption, airspace disruption, airport disruption, border restrictions, and land-border considerations.
