There was a clear bed bug infestation as I woke up covered in bites

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. this hostel costs the same price as a private room on Airbnb. I HIGHLY recommend you avoid this hostel. Dirty sheets. Cramped rooms. No privacy. I believe prisons in uruguay have better sleeping conditions than this place. I booked expecting a private pod and was shoved into a tiny smelly room. not only that but I got a BED BUG bite on my leg that I had to remove myself and only discovered after checking out. It was so bad that I paid for 2 nights and only stayed one because I had enough self respect to book a hotel instead of staying another night in this mess of closet.

We stayed here for a few nights and the experience was disappointing. The room was extremely small — there was barely any space to move or get changed. It was manageable because we were friends but sharing that space with strangers would be really uncomfortable. The staff was unfriendly and very strict with the rules. On the first morning, we were told we couldn’t use the toaster because we hadn’t paid for the hostel breakfast, even though we had bought our own food at the supermarket and were just trying to use the kitchen, which is supposed to be available to guests. On our last day, we checked out on time at 10:00 and went to the kitchen to have a quick coffee before leaving but we were told to leave immediately (it was 10:20) because we hadn’t paid for breakfast, but as I said before, the kitchen was available for common use as well. When we asked to leave our luggage after check-out, they wanted to charge £4 per bag, including small backpacks, which felt excessive for a hostel we already paid for, since most do the favor of doing it for free. To make it worse, four of us got bites on our arms and legs, most probably from bedbugs or dust mites in the beds. Too many rules, poor hospitality and questionable hygiene. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again. The only good thing is the location.

If I could give this zero stars I would. My friend and I booked a 4 night stay back in June. We tried to Upgrade our room from a mixed Dorm to an all girls dorm, we did not Paying the difference at all. They told us that they were unavailable, which was fine. To which we asked if we were able to cancel, which at this time that we asked to cancel, we would’ve gotten our full refund. They took two days to respond, so by the time they responded, we were out of the refund time. Which is utterly ridiculous and very unprofessional, I called them multiple times to which I was told there was nothing they could do. We went to check in on June 5, we were given a piece of paper with our numbers on it not key cards. We went up to our room which was on the third floor, which we were told that did not have a woman’s Restroom on that floor. When we got to our room, the beds that we are in was back against the wall, so our lockers were blocked by another bed so we had to put our stuff in the corner close to our bed, hoping that someone didn’t steal it because we couldn’t open the lockers because they were blocked. We then took turns watching our stuff to go to the bathroom. The bathrooms in this place are disgusting. Walking in the bathroom which is tiny, there were two showers that had no ventilation whatsoever so they were covered in mold. The bathroom only had one sink which was tiny and outside of One of the stalls, so if someone were to open the stall and another person was standing at the sink the person at the sink would be smacked by the door. Which in my opinion is dangerous. The bathroom floors were also covered in I don’t even know what, and one stall was out of use because it was disgusting. Going back to my room, I noticed my bed had mold around it. And the window curtains had a red substance on it as well. When I woke up I was drenched in sweat because of how hot the room was, and I also felt very faint. The only window in the room was unable to be opened due to the fact that it was blocked by another set of beds ( just like our lockers) there was a fan in the room but surprise surprise that fan didn’t work. Not only did I wake up in sweat I woke up and noticed I had tiny dots all around the pit of my arm. Which I thought at the time to be a heat rash, due to the extreme temperatures inside the room. But come to find out could be due to the fact that this place has bedbugs. We checked in on June 5th at 11:30pm and we checked out on June 6th at 10am. We were not even at this establishment for 12 hours. To top it all off as we’re leaving and in the elevator going down to the lobby I somehow cut my hand on the elevator. All and all this place is extremely overpriced for a hostel and extremely dangerous for anyone’s health. I will not be recommending this place to anyone, and I hope you take this as a warning.

Room 35 has a problem with bedbugs. On the morning following my first night at the hostel I noticed strange red dots on my elbows and back. Then I checked the bed and found blood traces on it. I went to Uniqlo and got a long sleeved t-shirt to avoid the contact with bedbugs. They are active between 3 am and 8 am. Following the purchase of the t-shirt the injuries started to heal. A couple of days were unpleasant, and I never saw bedbugs in my life. You should address these issues somehow. I am not complaining about it but hope my comment will help you to improve. It’s in the past and it’s over. I mean, the bedbugs. The hostel fiercely defends its no-alcohol policy. You can only consume alcohol bought in their bar. I have no problems with this. However, the hostel manager asked me about the pink can I held in my hands. He asked whether it was gin. I said no and then he asked me where I bought this mineral water. At some point I thought he was an undercover fed, but later realised that it was his own way of being polite. Still, do not consume alcohol you purchased outside of the hostel.

Extreme smell of urine in the bathrooms, unclean. Something bit me in the bed twice, don't think it was bed bugs but maybe a spider or something. And no guys, it is not the guests job to inform you about the state of your facilities, it's thejob of the staff to check on things. Also this issue has been addressed more than often

I was bitten by a few bed bugs after just a night stay!! (May 2022) Totally do not recommend it to anyone. Booked a girl hostel and the room was in a complete mess. This was the worst hostel I’ve been to. It’s near King’s Cross, not the closest. You can find much better ones for this price.

Bed bug alert! Stayed for two nights and was bitten by bed bugs. Discovered the bites on the way home, informed Clink, did not get a reply.

Service was good, and rooms were cheap. But there was ants on the floor and bedbugs.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!the bed bugs just ruined everything! And the bed light was broken for three days even though I have told the front desk, and now I'm still suffered from the bite of bed bugs... just be careful!
