The hostel itself is super nice located and cute. Liked it! BUT there is no breakfast, even if it is written down on the page, on arrival I just got told, no we don’t have that. I arrived at 5am (24h reception), just got out into a room without saying anything and then 3h later when I wanted to check in, they just told me - „u have to pay for that night as well“! - not really nice. And then the owner use the unofficial change rate (so u have to pay more). All in all he just wants to make...
The hostel itself is good nice location and decent rooms. Unfortunately, the owner ruined the experience. At check-out he tried to charge us more than the official Hostelworld price, insisting we pay using a “Remitly rate” instead of the confirmed rate. This felt dishonest and very unfriendly. Without this behavior the hostel would deserve a much higher rating, but being asked to overpay left a very negative impression. Guests should be careful at payment.
Was a nice hostel with lovely volunteers. The only thing that really annoyed me was that the owner tried to charge me the unofficial Boliviano rate. Using the rate from apps like Remitly. Even though my app was set to Bolivianos and had the price I needed to pay he still tried to argue and get more. played the fool and kept insisting to pay what the Hostelworld app said which worked. I understand the Boliviano is slightly disvalued at the moment but this was cheeky and dishonest.
+ One of the most aesthetically pleasing hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Helpful staff and excellent location right by the central market and close to the main plaza
- The dorms had no kind of ventilation and it got unpleasantly hot in the night so I had to crack open the door to let in some air. The room was susceptible to noise as it led out to the open corridor/terrace/communal area. It also bordered a private bathroom and when the guest used this in the night, very bright light came into the room, disturbing our sleep. There were no lockers - I asked about this and a staff member said that it was very safe there and they had cameras everywhere, but anyone could easily let themselves in through the front door and I’ve had enough stuff stolen in hostels that I don’t feel comfortable without a place to lock away my valuables. Only two communal toilet/shower rooms and these didn’t always have soap.
Nice lokation for some relaxing days in Tarija. Only negative or strange part is the transparency of the pricings. Some pay less than 80b some pay 100b or even more.

+ The property is very nice and location is excellent. Volunteers are very helpful. The owners comes across nice and helpful…however they do make backpackers pay the unofficial exchange rate of 15Bs to 1US$, instead of the official rate of 7 or 8Bs. They running some sort scam exchange game with foreign travellers. I felt he was pressuring me to either pay 15Bs exchange rate or pay in dollars..
- Be aware the owners charge 15Bs to US$ exchange rate. So you will pay +150bs per night. But the hostel is super nice…other than bathroom shortage.

- Der Aufenthalt war von Beginn an kurios und seltsam. Zunächst hat man uns in ein Dorm stecken wollen, dessen Preis günstiger war, als das von uns gebuchte. Über Booking haben wir im Preis ein Frühstück enthalten. Vor Ort erklärte man uns dann, dass sie eigentlich kein Frühstück anbieten. Wir mussten dann immer am Vortag unser Frühstück „anmelden“. Zweimal konnten wir es erst garnicht einnehmen, da es erst ab 8.30 Uhr starten sollte. Die Matratze in unserem Dorm war sehr durchgelegen. Im oberen Dormbett gab es kein Licht, keine Ablage und keine Steckdose. Für den bezahlten Preis sollte man ein wenig mehr erwarten dürfen. Rückzugsmöglichkeiten gab es auch keine, regelmäßig laute Musik und irgendwelche vom Inhaber durchgeführten Zeremonien inmitten des Hostels! Ist sicherlich nicht jedermanns Geschmack.
+ Beautiful place, especially the art and the architecture were incredible. Also the staff was very nice and the kitchen well equipped. Perfect location and fair price.
- There are no lockers which is a big minus for me. Also the heating in our room didn’t work and the building was not well isolated.
+ härziger Innenhof, saubere Bettbezüge & Bad, Küche gut ausgestattet, nettes & unkompliziertes Personal, kleiner Balkon und viele Sitzmöglichkeiten. Empfehlenswert!
- Bratpfannen in der Küche müssen zeitnah ersetzt werden (Belag ist ab), Wäsche waschen war für einige möglich, für andere nicht. Z.T auf Booking angegebene Infos nicht übereinstimmend mit der Situation vor Ort (bspw. kein Frühstück inklusive wie bei der Buchung angezeigt - andere Mitreisende hatten das selbe ,,Problem’’. Ansonsten hat’s nebenan einen Mercado.) Im Bad keine Seife!!!

+ Das Hostel ist super schön! Vor allem die Aufenthaltsbereiche sind einfach toll. Man kann hier echt super entspannen, quatschen und kochen. Die Betten im Schlafsaal sind sehr gemütlich, es gibt ausreichend Badezimmer, die Dusche ist warm und der Wasserdruck top. Es ist alles sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberinnen sind wirklich super freundlich und hilfsbereit. 😊 Die Lage ist unschlagbar!!
