Cosmopolit Hotel

We had a very unpleasant experience at Hotel Cosmopolit. The first thing my mother noticed was a dangerously loose electrical socket positioned directly above the pillow/head area of the bed. This is extremely unsafe and should be fixed immediately. Shortly after, I noticed a large stain on the bedsheets, which already raised concerns about cleanliness. My mother then took a quick shower, only to find that there was no shampoo provided. After the shower, she walked barefoot in the room and multiple hairs stuck to her feet — clearly the floor had not been properly cleaned. Additionally, the toilet seat/lid was broken and would constantly fall down while sitting, making it very uncomfortable and inconvenient to use. The most disturbing issue, however, was discovering a bed bug crawling on the bed while I was sitting there. It was moving quickly across the sheets. This is completely unacceptable. If there was one visible, there are likely more. We felt uncomfortable and unsafe, and I could not sleep after that. Cleanliness and safety are basic expectations in any hotel. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet even those minimum standards.

I wrote review which was fair at least base on my own experience but the property started creating lies to justify the low quality and pretend that I am lying, so it made me re-write the review to explain everything! and its the last time I am doing it no matter what they want to say! following is my original review: "terrible hotel in the terrible neighbourhood. I stayed for one night but even for one night I had to change the room as I found a bug in the bed. both rooms quite small old and dirty. the bathroom was too small the its too hard to take a shower. the rooms were too dark too. I cant find a single positive thing about this hotel. I dont recommend it even for one night." and this is his comment on my review: "Dear Ali, 1) We gave you twin room instead of single room that you have paid (40€) June 2025 Greece. 2) You wanted to change the room because of a mosquito. A mosquito in Greece in summer. 3) You didn't respect the hotel rules. First, you wanted to bring a guy in your room for "company" without accepting extra charge. Also you were upset because we asked the passport of your "friend". Last but not least you left the room 1 hour later from the check out time. Please stay home and not travel." Now let me go trough his lies: first lie: it was not a mosquito it was a bug and I even show him the photo. how is that possible that they change a room for a mosquito!!! second lie : I did not want to bring a guy with me for company! I arrived to Athens alone and did not know anyone there to bring with me and even if I want to bring a company be sure that I will bring a girl not a guy:D third lie: it was 10 min after the time not 1 hour!!! and last point you are saying you gave me twin room instead of single room that I booked! can you tell me how giving me a twin room, a room with two single bed to a single person is a favour? instead professional answer could be "we are sorry you did not have a good time!

Hostel was close to a metro stop but sketchy after dark. While the bathroom and breakfast was very nice, our room did have bedbugs. I only noticed after I had left that I had bites and the receptionist was rude when I called to inform them. Maybe they thought I was trying to get a refund? Either way, its good for the price but had some drawbacks.

We (17 people) stayed here for 7 nights in several rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very basic but ok. Unfortunately we had bed bugs in two rooms and 3 members of our group had bug bites all over there arms. I asked the staff to check for bed bugs and they promised they would search the room while we were sightseeing. I got a call from the manager that they couldnt find any bed bugs but changed all the towels and sheets. When we came back later in the day we wanted to make sure that there are no bugs anymore. We found them immediately after 2 minutes of searching. We then got 2 new rooms. In another room (1st floor) it constantly smelled like someone smoked inside. My guess is that the cleaning staff smokes right next to the AC units and the smoke is sucked up and distributed to the rooms. The neighborhood is full of drug addicts, prostitutes and dealers and there is a crazy smell of urin right in front of the hotel. Would I recommend the hotel? If you are a male person and do not want to stay longer than 2 nights it might be ok. Don’t come here with children.

Bed bugs! Stayed there for 4 nights first night my son was bit at least 20+ from bed bugs, he was given another room but zero compensation. Location is terrible, drug users all around the outside.

Although the room looked clean, I woke up from the second night full of bedbug bites... However, the thing that bothered me the most was the way the guy at the reception treated me when that morning I went downstairs and explained what happened and asked for help! This guy responded super rudely claiming that it was not possible there were bedbugs in that room, bla bla... Anyways, shoutout to Achilles, the only employee who got genuinely upset when knew what happened and was super nice to me.

I have to say I loved my experience in Athens and this hotel was pretty clean. I was surprised that after I stayed there my body was full of bites.. I went to the doctor and he confirmed it was bedbugs. I sent an email to the hotel to tell them about my experience and they never replied to even apologised. I was not going to complain this way but thought if they don't even reply to an email concerning that matter.. they might not care much about their customers. Now my body is full scars because of the bites and I am still worried I brought some home.

I have a really bad experience . The rooms look like clean but bunch of bedbugs attacked me, now I have different parts of my body itching and swollen by that, with red marks . They give me back 10 eu from the 15, to respond and they ldo offer me to stay for less price but I didi y want to . The area is quite unsafe, rooms are small . But the bedbug thing was the worst .

Decent hotel which is super value for money. This is a no-frill hotel that offers good rest for weary travellers. The nearest metro station is Omonia station which is only 5 minutes away. The bed was clean and there was daily housekeeping. In addition, the staff at the reception desk was friendly - typical of Greek hospitality. I had a comfortable stay here as everything in the room was in working order. There were no bed bugs whatsoever. The bathroom was also spacious. If you decide to bring a guest to your room, there will be extra charges at €5 (I think). I did not see undesirable sights such as drug addicts or working girls at the hotel area during my stay. Hence, I would recommend this to families and solo female travellers. This hotel is also located near 2 good point of interest: 1. Hondos Center - if you are shopping for beauty products, and more, this place is for you. There was 50% off sale on selected products when I visited. 2. Stani - the best yogurt-based dish in Athens. Don't leave Athens without visiting it. Highly recommended! I would stay here if I visit Athens again.
