   Please do not stay here. This hostel was nothing like the photos on Hostelworld. It was dirty, poorly maintained, and very disappointing. The worst part was that the staff removed my belongings after saying my reservation had ended. When I got my things back, my $500 USD emergency cash was missing. I reported it to the police, but the manager became aggressive, blamed me for having cash in my room, and accepted no responsibility. I felt so unsafe that I left before my final night. Host

   I pre payed for over two weeks. When I was there I had money stolen from me. A staff member also has money stolen from them. Staff is all volunteers simply staying there for free to work no pay. They don't care. Wild cats every where. Place very dirty. Left a week early due to theft issue. Them they refused to return my week worth of unused moneys paid. I am going to contact the law? DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to keep your money!!! They steal from everyone!!!

   Maya is an amazing team member! Food is not supposed to be stored in room but stuff is stolen from kitchen, unfortunately. Fridge should require dates/labels on items. Having clear instructions for after hours checking when booking would be helpful or a note in the confirmation email. I sent emails, made multiple calls and got through finally at the airport waiting on my flight, as you can imagine extremely nerve racking. Others in the hostel chat were having the same issues

   There were cockroaches in the girls dorm. The kitchen is outdoors where I also saw bugs. Most of the staff were nice, looked out of the girls, but there was one volunteer who was very creepy and tried to hit on the young girls staying in the hostel, which was concerning as he knew the code to the girls room. The bar across the street is fun, with pool and a rooftop, and the bartender was super nice and looked out of us. I wish the best for the staff who looked for me, but I would not go back.

   DO NOT COME HERE! Everything is broken ant dirty, nothing is locked here and it’s so easy for people from the outside to get in. There is a weird vibe with many old people staying here for a long period of time. Overall it’s not a place than is nice to be in.

   RUN. Only stay here if you would like to be murdered in your sleep, have all your stuff stolen and be lied to by management. The door to the room I stayed in did not lock, and the front gate is not locked, even when it's supposed to be at night. The lockers are too small to put any bags in and there are not enough lockers for the number of beds in the room. I asked the front desk about checking out early and getting a refund. I was told that the penalty was 3 days stay, but that I would get a refund for the rest of the amount, I just needed to email them about it. I emailed, just to be told "no refund for anything fixed in less than 24 hours". It took 3 days for them to fix the lock. When I told them this, they ignored me and did not give me the refund I was promised at check out. Other issues with this hostel include: no water (I cannot describe the state of bathrooms without throwing up); broken bathroom door; no toilet paper; dirty kitchen since no one, including the people who work there picks up after themselves; smelly sweat-stained mattresses

   RUN. Literally anyone can walk in and steal your stuff & management lies. The door to the room didn't lock; the front gate isn't locked. Lockers are too small for luggage and not everyone gets one. I asked the front desk about checking out early and was told that I would get a refund. Days later, they told me my reason for checking out was insufficient and they wouldn't issue a refund. Other issues include: no water; broken bathroom door; dirty & messy kitchen; smelly sweat stained mattresses

    Don't stay here - choose Mango Mansion or Conturce Hostel! The place was gross - water leaking through ceiling, mold on the bedroom walls and ceiling, bathroom damp & mildewy, AC broken, windows broken, etc. It was an unpleasant place to spend time - bunk beds were rickety, kitchen was inadequate, and located next to a bar which is loud & leads to many people coming & going late at night with minimal security. I had booked for two nights - I got in late, at like 11pm, and thought it was a bad place but didn't have time to find anywhere else. I left at 10am the next morning and cancelled my second night with the staff person at reception. However, the owners still billed me for a second night and refused to refund me when I contacted them, citing a made-up cancellation policy that was different from the cancellation policy on their Hostelworld page.

    the set up was at the wrong address and was impossible to orient oneself, didn't wind up staying but they still stole my money and probably my identity. was in a time crunch and this was the worst possible solution, before i had figured out if the door codes actually worked or if the facilities were even habitable they had took my nonrefundable $60 bucks ($45 + $20 inconvenience fee or taxes?) i was better off at the airport, which is what i wound up doing actually

    This place does not even deserve 1 star. We booked this hostel off of hostel world (do not let the positive hostel world reviews fool you). Upon arrival for 2 nights the door to our shared women’s room was never locked, the AC was not working, I had a single sheet to sleep on no towel or blanket of any sort, the room was infested with roaches and looked like it had never been cleaned before. Then the next day we went out on the town came back to used feminine products all over the bathroom, clogged toilet that had overflowed into the floor, and various bodily fluids (blood, used condoms). Mind you this is a ALL female dorm. My things were taken from my top bunk and slung all over the FILTHY FLOOR, and management did not care in the slightest. I immediately booked us an Airbnb and told management we were leaving and the reasoning above. When contacting management he 1. Accused us of lying. 2. Refused a refund. 3. Refused any sort of apology for the quality of our visit. This experience will be going beyond a Google review as we are reporting this incident to institutions that will handle this. Do not stay here, this place is the equivalent of a homeless shelter and I think a homeless shelter would have better quality to be honest.

    Nothing The place didn't match with the picture shown in the ad.and the location is a dangerous place to stay. In the top of everything the building is in complete deteriorating condition.l ask the attendant that we don't want to stay in this place and ask for my money back but it didn't happen. L lost my money and at the end, we stayed in another hotel.sobthe night cost me twice.

    Alquile un estudio entero .Uno de los días al llegar a las 3 de la mañana a mi habitación encontré las dos puertas abiertas y una persona durmiendo dentro , todas mis cosas estaban en la habitación. La persona me dijo que tenia una reserva en el alojamiento ,que no encontraba su habitación y los chicos del bar de enfrente forzaron las puertas para entrar en la mia.... a la mañana siguiente cuando lo comenté en recepción todo lo que me dijeron fue que lo sentian . Además : Poca limpieza Cucarachas en baño La puerta del baño no cierra Ruido continuo de agua en el baño El aire aondicionado sin mando La tv se veía mal La habitación se encontraba al lado de un baño donde toda la gente del bar de enfrente venía a cada rato y muchos se equivocaban e intentaban entrar en la habitación de noche .

    NÃO ME HOSPEDEI NO HOSTEL. NÃO TINHA ELETRICIDADE E WIFI E NEM CAMA E TOALHA... NÃO HAVIA GENTE PARA RECE PCIONAR. GASTEI 24 USD DE UBER IDA E VOLTA PARA UM OUTRO HOSTEL QUE ERA MINHA ULTIMA NOITE. UMA ESPELUNCA. QUERO RECEBER MEU REFUND DE 29.43 USD. COBRARAM ANTES DE ENTRAR. CHEGUEI LÁ E ESTAVA IMUNDO. COMO QUE UM LUGAR NAO TEM INTERNET, WIFI, CAMA DISPONÍVEL, RECEPÇÃO COMO DESCRITO E COBRAR ANTES DO CHECK IN??? Quero meu refund de 29.43 usd que não me hospedei num lugar que não tinha eletricidade, wi-fi, cama etc. Uma fraude!

    Dear Casa Santurce Management, We hope this email finds you well. It is with great disappointment that we are writing to inform you of our decision to check out after the first night of our three-night stay at Casa Santurce. Due to the unsatisfactory conditions we encountered upon check-in, we are seeking a refund for the remaining nights. Upon our arrival yesterday afternoon, we were dismayed to find our assigned room in an unacceptable state. It is crucial to emphasize that the mess was not a result of any of the girls currently staying there; rather, it was the condition we all encountered upon check-in. The room was messy, lacked proper preparation, and the restroom was in a deplorable condition with period pads stuck to the walls. Clearly visible mold on the walls and ceilings added to our concerns about the overall hygiene. Upon closer inspection, we found a significant amount of dirt and dust bunnies under the bed, suggesting a lack of proper cleaning standards. It appeared as though someone had merely swept debris under the bed, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect. Random people have walked into our room to use the bathroom and did not explain what they are doing while we were there changing, and sleeping. This is a safety and security concern. This morning we asked why they are walking into our room unannounced and rudely answering us with the fact that they work there and the other bathroom is not working. This was never prefaced when checking in and we would not have chosen to stay somewhere where people not assigned to our dorm were entering freely as they please without warning. Additionally at 3 am, there were people not only entering the room but doing laundry which is also unacceptable seeing as quiet hours are after 10. Moreover, we encountered a situation where our door code did not work, creating a safety risk as others entered freely without acknowledging our presence. In addition to the mentioned issues, we discovered that the AC unit in our room had a thick layer of dust covering the entire air vent. Regrettably, one of the girls in our group became severely ill, and we suspect that these unsanitary conditions caused her health issues. When seeking assistance from the staff regarding the AC issue, the response we received was rude. The staff member curtly instructed us to write an email and walked away. This interaction is just another example of the staff not being welcoming and providing the necessary assistance to address our concerns. Additionally, despite the prominent "no smoking" sign, staff members were frequently smoking cigarettes in common areas, further compromising the quality of our stay. In the shared kitchen, the refrigerator was roped off with bungee cords, preventing proper access for one of our group members who needed to store insulin. This posed a significant concern for her health and safety. Given the cumulative issues and the failure to meet the basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and security, we have decided to check out today, after the first night of our originally planned three-night stay. In accordance with your stated policy, we are formally requesting a refund for the remaining nights, as the conditions provided are far from what we expected and fall short of any reasonable standard. To assist you in understanding the severity of our experience, we have documented the issues with accompanying photos. We believe a refund is a fair resolution given the circumstances. We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and request confirmation of our checkout and refund process. We hope that these concerns can be addressed to improve the overall quality of your establishment for future guests. *they have ignored this email and refuse to give us a refund.*

    Nice rooftop, very Nice area and walking distanse to a lot of museums, downtown and beaches. The staff was the best! Some of the guests distroyed some of our things and took our food that we had named with a marker from our doorm. We told the staf but nothing realy happend..

    The keypads in the doors were nice because it felt like an iffy area but one of the male staff members came into the female only room in the middle of the day without knocking and I think a little warning would have been nice. The rooftop hangout spot is AMAZING great views, wish it had more than one hammock though. And the communal surfboards were a nice touch.

    Staff are angry, mean, uncaring and they consider communicating about the $60/nite private room's broken toilet seat, a/c wall unit w/ black mold to be my personal deficiencies for daring to followup a day later, because nothing was done to repair nor clean any of it. The manager accused me of harassing her staff , screamed at me to my face, invaded my space & took & threw my belongings into the street, almost breaking my Pixel cellphone in the street. AVOID!!

    The accommodations were not all how they were presented and described on this website. Upon entering the room, it was unclean, there was clearly black bold on the main room wall as well as in the bathroom which is unsafe. Additionally, the AC unit leaked onto my belongings, the bathroom sink leaked, there were broken mirrors, and the bathroom door was unable to close. We worked with the attendant to get a different room however nothing was available till the next day. We decided to try to make that work. However, the following morning at approximately 7am the Hostel attendant was screaming at another guest, eventually kicking them off the property after about 1hr of yelling, arguing and threatening. We decided to move to a different location and requested a refund from the hostel owners as we clearly did not stay for the full reservation period. This has yet to be resolved. DO NOT stay with this hostel.
