Any time I wanted to ask a question, I had to wait for 5+ minutes because the front desk staff were busy on a phone or a zoom call or anything else, so I felt like their last priority. The rooms offered the bare minimum. I understand it's a hostel but it would be great to at least have some hangers for your toiletries and towels/clothes in the bathroom. Basically everything is just super uncomfortable and feels like the minimal effort. The vibe in the hostel is also very depressing - people don't hang out, sometimes don't even acknowledge you - not the fun hostel experience I remember from when I went to Europe 7 years ago. The worst part of it all was that I had to check out of this hostel 2 days early because I just couldn't tolerate all this discomfort anymore and it was the right decision. The day I checked out I also noticed that I got bitten by bed bugs all over my body. I went to 3 pharmacies and all three confirmed those were bed bugs. When I reached out to the hostel staff asking for a refund for these last two nights at the very least, they refused and were dismissive of what I shared making me doubt myself when I was itching all over my body, having to find a last-minute Air BnB and washing all my clothes to prevent infecting the AirBnB or bring the bed bugs back home. I really didn't have the mental capacity to deal with that matter up until now but I want to address all of that because it was my worst hostel experience ever and I hate to have this memory from one of my favorite cities in the world.

Bed bugs in the bed.

There was a bed bug infestation in the property and we were asked to and sleep in the beds that were infested. The manager was not cooperative. After many attempts, we were offered a refund at 11pm if we leave and find alternative accommodation which incurred great financial loss. I have a swollen body from many bed bug bites and they will not offer any further help or compensation. I asked if they can just wash my clothes before I leave as they were infested but they said no. HORRIBLE DO NOT GO THERE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY!

The noise from the restaurant downstairs and other rooms. The bathroom (shower too hot and broken. No space to hang stuff). The bed was very dirty. No hangers. There were bugs in the bed.

The location is really good! Trastevere is a cool area, the hostel chill, and staff friendly. Don't forget your own lock for the locker. The dorm only locks manually from the outside otherwise it stays open. Toilet doors don't lock from the inside. I was bitten by bedbugs and they disinfected the room which helped. Though I caught a bug, saw a doc and had to spend 20eur on washing, creams and pills, I sadly wasn't offered any kind of compensation. For 60 a night I shouldn't have to ask for that.

Bed bugs

The facility needs a lot of maintenance like bathroom and inside the room. One of my roommate was bitten by some bugs and they didn’t even come up to check for bed bugs but straight out denied any bugs in the room. One of the female receptionist is a professional liar and unhelpful. Each guest supposed to get a locker each but there seem to be less lockers than the number of beds so guests who checked in late won’t get the locker. The receptionist will tell the tale of a guest broke the locker to everyone who doesn’t get the locker. I was one of the guest who didn’t get the locker and heard the tale three times while I ate in the reception area. The cleaners seem like never properly clean the floor and window which is very dusty and the bathroom walls were slimy. They place a very harsh lights in the bedroom, which was not possible to turn on as it literally was in someone face since their bed is facing the light.

Ich bin als Pilgerin einiges gewohnt und nicht anspruchsvoll. Aber diese Unterkunft ist für den Preis unmöglich. Es ist runter gekommen. Ich bin in einem 4-er Damenschlafsaal. Auf der ersten Etage gibt es viele Schlafsääle, zwei Bäder. In meinem Bad 3 Duschen und Waschbecken sowie 3 WCs. Davon sind 2 WCs seit 2 Tagen out of Order. WC Papier nicht ausreichend vorhanden und man muss es selbst an der Rezeption abholen. Waschbecken verstopft, was ich persönlich ekelig finde. Die Bettdecken weisen deutliche Verschmutzungen aus. Die Gäste werden offensichtlich nicht darauf hingewiesen den Koffer und Rucksack NICHT auf dem Bett abzulegen (Bettwanzen !!! Dreck von der Straße !!!) Ich benutze NOBITE um meine persönlichen Gegenstände und mich vor solche Verunreinigungen zu schützen. Getränke überteuert: Bierdose 6€. Leider habe ich 5 Nächte gebucht und auch bezahlt sonst hätte ich umgehend ausgecheckt.

Tiene sus areas de oportunidad: Los lockers de las recámaras, el mío no tenía nada para cerrarlo, ni siquiera donde poner un candado. La cama estaba muy cómoda pero amanecí con dos piquetes de bed bugs. La regaderas son mixtas y no tiene espacio para poner tus cosas personales y para tomar las cosas tienes casi que salir desnuda. El desayuno demasiado caro para ser desayuno europeo, 10 euros, cuando en un bar un cafe y croissant te sale en 3 euros. Eso si, amable la persona en la mañana que nos dijo que el café es gratis.

Worst for Italy month travel (stayed at 8 accomms inc hostels). Many things weren't right: - - Elevator U/S in this 4-level accommodation. Was advised no outlook to fix. - Stairwell doors to each level propped open with fire extinguishers. - Towels? 3 euro extra, not stated on website. Surprise. - Mixed gender communal shower/toilet facilities grubby, lack basic privacy, - Showers back-flooding, no toilet door locks - Bedbug bites, rooms grubby, bare - Slack management, overpriced
