Manena Hostel

La table à manger n’était pas très propre. Le lit pas très confortable et surtout je me suis fait piquer dans la nuit par des punaises de lit. La 1ere nuit de mon voyage et à mon retour j’ai dû désinfecter toutes mes affaires 😫

The beds had bed bugs in them which we had to swot. The mattresses obviously need changing.

very nice hostel with friendly staff and a good kitchen! very sociable and free breakfast is a huge plus (especially when you’re travelling for 6 weeks!!) my only complaint is that i found bed bugs in my bed and the staff didn’t seem bothered about it when i let them know. hoping this was just a one off though and not an infestation as the everything else was so nice!

Présence de punaise de lit. J'en ai tué plein de petite et j'avais plein de bouton dans le dos. Heureusement que je suis pas restée longtemps. Petit dej correcte. Interdiction d'utiliser la cuisine le midi car ils nettoie (pas pratique pour ce faire a manger). Trop chère pour ce que c'est.

I woke up both mornings I was there with the itchy red welts I get following bed bug bites. Also, the 3 bathrooms with showers could get pretty busy in the mornings with so many people there. The power went out (breaker issue?) early this morning as most of the people there slept, thankfully after I was out of the shower. I wouldn't trust what's kept in the fridge.

The staff were great, the location perfect, and Spyro's walking tour (nearly 5 hours and pretty comprehensive - he showed us some gems I never would have found on my own) was fantastic! Guests were great, but the huge downside was that I woke up both mornings I was there with the itchy red welts in rows that I get when there are bedbugs. Ugh! Thankfully I kept my luggage closed up and away from the bed. Another minus, and I don't know how often this happens, but 15 minutes before I left this morning, the power went off, so I and another guest with early travel were preparing to leave in pre-dawn darkness. Thank goodness I was out of the shower by then! As others have noted, they could use more showers and bathrooms (or separated facilities). I showered well before everyone else both mornings, but I did have a wait for the bathroom later on when others were showering.

This was my first hostel experience ever in my life and it scared me away for a while. That is just one thing the toilet, the bathroom and the kitchen was quite dirty for me and another thing is it doesn’t look like on the pictures, if you look around with a bit more attention, but they had BEDBUGS! It was in my bed and I have seen it in the common area also. On the next morning when we told the stuff they were not surprised at all. But at least we got breakfast and the owner was understanding they gave us a refund and payed for our laundry!

The place had BEDBUGS. We found them in the bedroom and then it turned out that the bedbugs were also in the common area. The owner did not seem suprised about the bugs when we were getting our refund, so im guessing they have had similar complaints. The place was a bit dirty as well. The location was good though.

This was the absolute WORST hostel Ive ever been. The smell was disgusting. The room was right next to the kitchen, so all the smells from the kitchen went directly into the bedroom. There was no cleanliness to the hostel. At the end of the stay we had to turn in the sheets of the bed, and we found bed bugs on BOTH of our beds. Absolutely disgusting

Can I give no star? Took me three days to recover from bedbug bites...
