The lock on our door (the Antique room) didn't lock from the outside, which made us feel very unsafe when leaving the hostel, having to carry out belongings with us everywhere.

Recensione completaI stayed in the Palazzo for 2 nights with my father. The hosts, although I didn't see them in person were really helpful during our stay. The Palazzo is at a great location, right at the heart of Valleta, at a walkable distance from the main attractions of the city. I don't recommend staying here if you rent a car, as there is no parking nearby. Overall though this is not a great place to stay. The room was very dirty, with spider webs and dust everywhere. The lock on our door (the Antique room) didn't lock from the outside, which made us feel very unsafe when leaving the hostel, having to carry out belongings with us everywhere. The shared bathroom, although clean, had a terrible water flow and the shower head's support was broken. The price and location makes the experience worth it, but if you're a woman traveling alone or if you're staying in Valleta for more than 2 nights, don't stay here.

Recensione completaZERO STARS The palazzo is beautiful, but quite run down and has clearly been patched up while trying to spend as little as humanly possible. We asked for a hair dryer and had to go on a treasure hunt around the building to find it after being told it was "on the chair". When we did find it, it was next to a pair of electrician's pliers (and surprise surprise, it didn't work - at least we didn't get electrocuted). The worst thing however is the guy who runs the place - he sends all instructions as long whatsapp videos that do not load. So we did not put a key back where it was meant to be. To get the key back, he literally nearly kicked our bedroom door down in the middle of the night while shouting incoherently about a key. I nearly had a heart attack. You don't do that to any guests, let alone female guests. He never even apologised. We could not get out of there fast enough the following morning. Never again. Avoid!

Access to the property is controlled by a small black key, which didn’t always work.

Recensione completaI recently stayed at Ursula Saint Palazzo and wanted to share an honest, balanced review of my experience. While the location is excellent and communication with the host was initially positive, several major issues made my stay far less enjoyable than I’d hoped. Value for Money: Although the price was low compared to other accommodation options in Valletta, I honestly think it should have been cheaper given the number of problems. The value just doesn’t match the quality of the stay. Security: Access to the property is controlled by a small black key, which didn’t always work. There were several moments when we were left struggling at the door, joking that it would be easier to lift someone onto the balcony to get in. Inside, the entire property is monitored by CCTV, cameras are everywhere except in the rooms and bathrooms, which gave the whole place an unsettling feeling. The room keys were old-fashioned and basic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if all the doors used the same ones. The bedroomdoors, although lockable, could easily be pushed open due to their dual-door setup. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was strange and uncomfortably quiet. By the end of the stay, I felt uneasy, especially after receiving a message from the owner at 2 a.m. accusing me of throwing a bin bag out of the window. When I explained that wasn’t possible, he simply replied, “Exactly what I thought,” and wished me goodnight, later suggesting it could have been “a guest on the roof.” The conversation felt completely unnecessary and intrusive. Cleanliness: This was, without doubt, the worst part. The room was dirty, with half-dead plants spilling soil everywhere, broken furniture, and missing blinds. The floor was dusty, and the bathroom smelled terrible, the shower didn’t drain properly, and the head wasn’t attached, so you had to hold it by hand. The only positive was that the bathroom was exceptionally well-stocked with toilet paper, at least nine rolls at all times. The hallways and stairs were cluttered with plants and the owner’s personal belongings, making them resemble the stairs of a hoarder’s house. Staff: To their credit, the owner communicated well before arrival. A few days before check-in, I was added to a group chat with the hosts, who explained everything clearly, including a smooth self-check-in process. During the stay, they also provided useful local tips. Location and Facilities: The property’s location is excellent, close to everything you need in Valletta and with easy access to transport. The kitchen, however, was poorly stocked with utensils, making self-catering almost impossible. There are washing machines and dryers, though it’s unclear who can use them. The highlight of the property is the rooftop garden, a beautiful spot to relax and watch cruise ships leave the Grand Harbour. Overall: A well-located property with good communication but let down by poor cleanliness, questionable security, and an uncomfortable atmosphere.

I found a man using my bathroom under the impression that it was communal.

Recensione completaThe location is perfect and the building is quirky. My en-suite first floor room was fine. Check in was difficult and room security is poor as the lock didn’t work well and the door opened if pushed. As there are no instructions I found a man using my bathroom under the impression that it was communal. The roof terraces are lovely and good for a cool evening drink. The outside security is robust and with a lockable suitcase I felt my belongings were safe enough. It’s not a party place.

Door to the room didn’t lock properly so didn’t feel very secure.

Recensione completaAbsolutely amazing location with friendly and helpful hosts (with communication and lots of great recommendations for food/places to go on WhatsApp). However, we did not realise that the place only had one bathroom (which didn’t feel super clean) for all guests and was on the bottom floor which was a steep spiral staircase from the room and shower was hand held. Beds were comfy but towels and bedding didn’t smell very clean. Door to the room didn’t lock properly so didn’t feel very secure.
