Zebulo Hostel

This hostel has so much potential but the owner is mismanaging. The room was dirty. I looked under the bed and there was a bunch of trash and a bottle of piss from a previous guest. Our last day we saw what looked like a bed bug. Also tons of mosquitoes but I don’t know if there is anything they can do about that. Also they need to move the smoking area. The entire hostel smells of cigarettes. Pool was not clean. Toilets and showers disgusting. Shoutout to Carlos who was working so hard though to assist us with any of our needs. I hope the owner is able to clean this place up.

Nicht zu empfehlen! Leider sehr sehr dreckig. Der Aufenthaltsraum ist schmudelig und die Küche sehr dreckig, hier will man nicht kochen. Als ich in den Rezensionen von Bettwanzen las habe ich mein Bett untersucht und leider nichts erfreuliches gefunden. Ekelhafte Matratze, undefinierbare Flecken und Bettwanzen-Kot. Lebende Bettwanzen habe ich keine gesehen aber das was ich gesehen habe hat gereicht, Zeug gepackt und schnell weg, Geld hin oder her.

We only stayed here for one night but unfortunately one night too long. I woke up and saw BEDBUGS crawling in my bed. It turned out that all beds in the dorm had bedbugs. We told the staff, but they didn’t care, the told us to leave the hostel and were willing to let other people also sleep in the bed. We showed them pictures and showed the bedbugs in the bed but the only thing they did was getting angry at us. Terrible place! Don’t go here!

We only stayed here for one night, but unfortunately one night too long. I woke up, and saw bedbugs crawling in my bed. It turned out that all beds in the dorm had bedbugs. We told the girl at the reception, but she couldn’t speek English en was not very willing to help us. We had to bring our stuff to the laundry and had to pay $75 dollars for it. I would not recommend this place!

Muitos mosquitos na parte de baixo e varanda (apesar de não ter no quarto). Bed bugs na parede ao lado da cama. Café da manhã bem simples, apenas 2 panquecas com syrup. Falta um pouco de conforto no quarto, como um lugar para apoiar mochila e sentar, especialmente para quem fica na cama de cima dos beliches.

Bedbugs! I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but a few days later and I’m littered with bedbug bites in their little patterns all over. The bed itself was very uncomfortable, and I felt myself being eaten alive all night by mosquitoes since the windows didn’t all have screens, I barely slept. The bathrooms were not clean and the one with the toilet didn’t even have hand soap. The atmosphere was really social, I hope they’re able to clean up the place and fix the bug problems.

I stayed there literally a few hours and checked out in the middle of the night because I found bedbugs, I have a video of this for proof (can’t find the button to upload it with my review), after this I packed my things and left to avoid infestation. Also I had to kill not 1 or 2 but 7 mosquitos in my room before trying to get to bed. The room was also dirty and my pillows smelled of damp sweaty socks. If the owner sorts this issue out, it could be a good stay. It’s in a great location, it’s cheap and the staff were really friendly but my personal experience was bad due to the bed bugs. Edit since owners response**: I literally have video proof that the pillows aren’t brand new and that there was a bed bug on the pillow
