   This was my worst hostel experience in my life. I didn't like the hostel and wanted to leave but the host locked the door, took my phone and then started to fight when I tried to take it back. Don't even think to go there

   After cancelling a non refundable reservation, they billed me AGAIN and aren't being forthcoming about the refund. At this point I'm not expecting to see the money back. Stay away. This place is very sketchy.

   DO NOT STAY HERE I did 2 separate bookings. I left a 4 star review in booking. When I arrived for the 2nd, they kicked me out because of the review and threatened to punch me, absolutely ridiculous.

   Rooms are bad: there is clearly no idea about accomodating travelers, no security (door to the dorm and to the entrace isn't locked and you have no key), no privacy and you will be lucky if one shower in the 14 bed dorm is working. The staff at the hostel only cares about monney. The bar fits in nicely in the surrounding over prised tourist area as beers will easily go for 2X the average price. That being said i will give 3 stars because the free breakfast was good (between 8 - 10) and i meet some lovely people here.

   Rooms: bathrooms very moldy, there was a leak in the roof which caused the hallway to be underwater. A random woman walked in the room (not a cleaner and I was with 12 friends so the room was full). Service: the owners (and cleaners, etc.) were very nice. Had a nice talk with them and the breakfast was good, even though it was constantly the same (egg, apple slices, ..). Location: near a tourist trap, everytime I walked out the door there were people trying to get me to eat in the restaurant.

   Please do not stay here. Extremely dishonest management. Made us pay cash then also charged our credit card. Refuse to respond to messages regarding a refund despite initially saying how sorry they were. Room smelt like cat pee, mould in bathroom. Please read the multitude of similar reviews. I'm so angry.

   • The man that checked me in (Ahmed was his name) suggested that he was giving me a free breakfast (it is supposed to be included) out of his own “hospitality” and kept trying to hit on female guests.

   The hostel itself is okay- there is a beautiful terrace, and the included breakfast was nice. There are some really kind volunteers especially at the bar. Faizaan was really fun, extremely welcoming and made me feel safe and comfortable as well as answering all of my questions. The other guests at the hostel are very social and fun too. However, all of the other staff were highly unprofessional, and made me and a number of female guests feel very uncomfortable. The man that checked me in (Ahmed was his name) suggested that he was giving me a free breakfast (it is supposed to be included) out of his own “hospitality” and kept trying to hit on female guests. I also overheard them making crude comments about women and made inappropriate suggestions as well. This put me on edge and had I known this was the case, I would not have booked this hostel. If you are a female traveller I would reconsider staying here and go somewhere else.

   Don’t support this hostel by booking. Volunteers work 6h instead of 4h which is normal and the owners harass the women and make them feel uncomfortable. Toilets doesn’t have papers, showers doesn’t have shampoo, you need your own locker for the closets and one door of the toilet is broken. At night is a bit cold but with the blanket is okay. They gave my bed to someone else and then it was available only one which they didn’t change the linens from the previous visitor and I slept on used dirty bed. I don’t write bad reviews but when the women told me that the owner approached them while they sleep on the bed I got really mad. Rest of the stuff were really friendly and polite and especially Faizaan the bartender made me feel like home from the first time I stepped on the bar. The breakfast was small but really good and the visitors really friendly too.

   Avoid this hostel by ALL MEANS POSSIBLE! Staff do not take guest concerns seriously and operate in an unprofessional and unsafe manner. Multiple times male staff have come in the room while women were sleeping. One woman left because of how uncomfortable this made her. I also had a bed below a mentally disturbed woman who barged in the room at 3am, turned on the lights and was screaming and opened my curtain. I saw one of the male staff and was very upset over it and said thats not acceptable to do. The mentally disturbed woman kept cursing about me the entire night and would not stop talking I couldn’t fall asleep. Her behavior was disruptive. I asked further the next day about what had happened and he said he had to tell the woman not to open the curtains. I requested a bed change and the man did not take my request seriously, he just said oh well we will do something. I took the next bed and other women suddenly did not have a bed available and I was forced to move back. I am not even sure if the man who works the desk was telling the truth about the situation, but the way things are handled at this hostel are completely careless and unprofessional. Ladies, please avoid this hostel for your safety and to not ruin your trip go Istanbul.

    We stayed 3 nights in a dorm room. Our first 2 nights were good! Comfortable beds, decent breakfast, staff was friendly. Great location in Sultanahmet. Our 3rd night everything fell apart. The bar was busy and somehow the patrons found out they could use our dorm room bathroom as the bar restroom. (the door didn't lock properly). And so, a train of drunks kept crashing around into our room leaving the door open and lights on - until 4 am!! We spoke to the staff around midnight. He said he'd come back with a solution - and never returned. We had a brutal night and left in the morning.

    Came back on my 2nd night to find someone else in my bed, staff had apparently put him there and my stuff was moved. No real apology, and the same happened to two others that day. I’ve never experienced such a joke. On arrival told cash only, then later card was fine. Bathrooms filthy, showers blocked, haven’t been cleaned in years. They have a bizarre no outside food or drink rule despite their own food being very poor. Staff rude and pushy about boat trip. Curtains shown in photos mostly broke

    La pire auberge de ma vie. Tout est délabré, cassé. Les douches sont bouchées, les lumières ne fonctionnent pas, c’est sale, il y a des coupures d’électricité, les gens sont extrêmement bizarres dans cette auberge et j’ai meme été confrontée à une personne dangereuse qui dormait dans ma chambre (le personnel a dû l’expulser en plein milieu de la nuit). Le personnel n’est pas sympathique. De plus, la couverture de mon lit et les effets personnels qui s’y trouvaient ont disparu. Honteux.

    Room was fine. Biggest issue I had was the staff overcharged my stay on the room. Paid double what I should have. Only noticed after the fact, but disappointing to be overcharged the way that I was. If staying here, double check your room costs on hostel world, as you cannot trust the staff to get it right

    Amazingly kind staff! Super easy check in and comfy beds. Location is pretty touristy but central and easy to get around the city. The breakfast was a nice touch and the space on the top floor is really cozy. Only downside is the hostel room door doesn’t lock so that didn’t feel super secure & it was advertised the hostel did events but really just pubcrwals some days of the week and the rest are through companies
