Bedbugs! Midges! Covered in bites head to toe! <3 emailed the company about this to absolutely no response!

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, nice bar, bathrooms are fine. Affordable. Great location and very central Cons: Not very busy in the evening. First bed I got was still dirty, second bed didn't have a curtain. There was a lot of noise from the street during the night. The biggest con was that I found a bedbug on my shirt in the morning. I have to say the staff handled this really well, gave me my money back without trouble when I wanted to leave, paid for the costs I had to make to clean my stuff and was easy to work with. They also promised me pest control was getting heavily involved. But yeah.. I don't think I will stay here again. Especially considering other reviews from months ago talk about bed bugs too.

Staff was super friendly, but that is the positives. When we arrived to the hostel, and I was going to sleep I saw bedbug walking on my sheets. After that I checked under the mattress and there was several dead & alive bedbugs. Staff was helpful and moved us to another room which seemed to be ok, and at least we didnt find any signs of bugs. But there has also been many other reviews in google/tripadwisor/booking about bedbugs and I am pissed of that this hostel does not react severely enough to this issue. Also room had weird odour, the window was leaking and we got lot of noises from outside, and hygiene was not good in the bathrooms/showers - there should be more cleaning. I think this hostel has been one of the best in 10 years ago, and common areas had a great vibe. But nowadays its sad that they have an issue with bedbugs and hygiene. And when we told about bedbugs staff didnt even seem to be suprised. In the end, I will not come back. And before this hostel takes these issues seriously, neither should you.

This hostel is dirtyyyy. The bathrooms smelled like pee 24/7, the floors were constantly dirty, and it was obvious that no one cleaned the bathroom since they were out of hand soap for 2+ days!! The dorm room was a bit better but my linens always felt a bit damp and I could see mold spots on the walls. Also someone else that was staying there told me they found bed bugs. Had to leave early and book another hostel because I felt so disgusting at PILOT.

DO NOT STAY HERE: BED BUG INFESTATION - HAVE HAD TO THROW AWAY ££ OF CLOTHES TO GET RID OF THEM. AVOID !!!

Very friendly staff! But BED BUGS!! In two different rooms.

Showers were cold (tried three times, different showers, ran them for ages, in the end went to a different floor), hairdryer didn’t work, toilets smelled like urine all the time, generally unclean, “free iced tea” is a tea bag in water in a fridge that smelled like something died in it, no atmosphere in the common areas. Icing on the cake is there were bed bugs. was moved to another room and offered free breakfast but the new room’s power outlets didn’t work, no lock on the under bed locker. WTF

Rooms with cockroaches and bedbugs. Ew.

I was disappointed by this hostel. The rooms were quite dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in what seemed like a long time. There was lots of dirt, hairs and even garbage around my bed. Some people on my floor mentioned to me that they found bed bugs in their room which stressed me out. My bed seemed to be fine but still not a great feeling. There was no hot water for the showers, wifi didn’t function, rooms had no ac (only two old fans that didn’t do much for heat). Staff was very sweet though.

Location was very central & staff were very nice but our entire room was infested with bed bugs. Our clothes and backpacks were covered in bed bugs the next morning.

Great hostel and met some awesome people. Unfortunately I got the worst bed bugs of my entire life and was itching all 27 hours of my flight back home. Don't stay in room 24 bunks 3 and 4!

Yo nunca me quejo de nada, no me importa si no hay agua caliente, si te cagas de calor, si no es tan privado la habitación, nada. Este lugar se paso de sucio. Me quede en la habitación de 12 que no es NADA que ver a las fotos de hostelworld. Las duchas el cuarto era todo un asco pero me la banco no pasa nada. Lo que si no me banque fue que habian bedbugs o como se diga en las camas. Habia leido de esto y la primera noche no vi nada. La segunda vi 1 en mi cama y me hice el bldo. El siguiente dia un amigo que me hice ahi que dormia al lado mio se levanto todo picado. Cuando fui a decirle a las recepcionistas pusieron una cara como que estaban completamente al tanto de esto y me dijeron sisi mañana lo arreglo (era mi ultima noche). Despues por suerte la recepcionista de la noche me cambio de cuarto cuando le explique la situación. Igualmente no recomiendo PARA NADA quedarse acá.

Disgusting!!!!! So many bed bugs that I ended up like this in the morning. Literally ruined the whole holiday as this was my first night in Portugal.

My locker was broken, the dude in the bed next to mine had bedbugs. Fans in some rooms but not others. The showers were quite moldy and did not feel clean. In one of the toilets the handdrier was broken. Some of the staff was really nice and others were oddly pushy about getting on the pubcrawl.

They have a serious situation with bed bugs. We all know is not their fault, but it starts to be when you don't treat the problem seriously. They told me that they did a cleaning recently, but apparently it wasn't deep enough. I found eggs and dead bedbugs under my bed, and I got bitten so bad... They refund me, that was nice of them, also because I am gonna spend the next two days cleaning my stuff. For the rest the only good thing about this hostel is the location in my opinion. Three toilets were out of service, air dryer wasn't working... The pub crawl they propose is kind of a scam. Bring towel and padlock!

Such a disappointment to be honest. We saw this hostal has thousands of reviews and thought it was gonna be great and yes, that ambiance that a hostal should give, good vibes, cool music, free wine as welcome… but oh my god the rooms and the bathrooms were HORRIBLE. We found bed bugs in our bed and there wasn’t just one, there was a fully grown one and little ones within the sheets. It’s sad because the girl at the desk was very nice but did not seem surprised that we complained, as if it wasn’t the first time to happen. Honestly would not recommend to anyone. We got a full refund but now we have to look for another hotel and waste a whole morning on this.

The hostel was ok.The staff is really friendly, especially the pub crawl with Rafa was a lot of fun. It costs 16€ and you can get drunk with that easily.However, it is not clean. The mattresses are full with black spots on the bottom, we don't know if it's mold or bedbugs (we asked, they said it's because of the wood of the bedframe). The showers are also not the cleanest.The offer a nice breakfast for 5€, with waffels.If you only look for a cheap place it's fine, but by far not the best choice.

The hostel is social and the atmosphere is nice. We did the pubcrawl and it was fun. Unfortunately we had to leave 2days before the end of our trip because I had bedbugs in my bed. I woke up with a lot of bite, even on my face. The staff told me I have to pack and go wash my stuff. Its the first time I experienced begbugs in a hostel. I think they should be more attentive to that when they do the cleaning for another guest. I saw some comments about it on hostelworld so its not the first time.

Eu fiquei nesse hostel 2 vezes, 1 vez a luz do andar ia abaixo toda hora e na segunda vez tinha bedbug. Lembrando que bedbug não é culpa do hostel ja que tem muito viajante passando por la e nao tem como eles controlarem 100%. É um otimo hostel se nao contar com esses imprevistos.

Lo siento pero salí picada por bichos al parecer había chinches.
