Bed bugs!! I’ve been bitten by bed bugs in several places on my body. Don’t go there!

The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. Unclear if the bugs I saw were bed bugs, but you'll definitely wake up to bugs in your bed and an occasional small 🪳 on the floor

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! The worst customer service and room I have stayed in out of any hostel in south east Asia. Arrived to a room with dirty sheets encrusted with other humans stains which we were forced to sleep in as we checked in at 3am. When we complained they told us they would change the sheets but only re made the bed. They eventually came and stripped the bed and told us to sleep on the bed with no sheets as the bed ‘didn’t need them’ ??? Genuinely scared I have scabies or bed bugs after my stay here. The room was also full of ants which went in all of our bags. When we asked for a partial refund we were at first refused and then offered an insulting amount and told to write to a manager to complain. Once we left and went to write a review on hostel world we found our booking had been cancelled by them so we were unable to review.

Achtung Bettwanzen waren in meinem Bett und an den Vorhängen. Die Zimmer ohne Fenster riechen nach Schimmel und meine Bettwäsche hatte gelbe Flecken. Keine Empfehlung.

Cancelled our stay due to bed bugs. Got charged full amount. Was not prior informed about the bed bugs. Hostel should have given us notice about this with the option to freely cancel.

Bed bug alert!!! We planned to arrive in Hanoi in the early morning on an overnight bus so we emailed the hostel to see if checking in early was possible. They said with a fee we could check in early and that our room would be available. When we arrived we were met with the reaction that we were asking for too much when they were the ones that confirmed we could check in early. They mansplained that they had to clean the room before letting us check in and that the availability of rooms are always iffy in hostels as if we had never been to one before. They kept repeating that check in was at 2 as if we didn’t know that in the first place, hence the email asking for EARLY CHECK IN that they already CONFIRMED. The lobby furniture was gross and looked like it had never cleaned before. The private room shower has terrible water management. One shower flooded the whole place. Mold and grime everywhere. Anything plugged into the walls would not charge or fall out of the socket. The place is in the at Beer Street so a little noise is expected, however it was too noisy from the other guests in the hostel as our room was on the eighth floor which was the only entrance to the rooftop bar. Constant noise from people coming up and down the stairs and being rowdy. The walls and windows have zero soundproofing. Was just going to gloss over these details until we found a BED BUG. Killed it and took pictures of the blood that smeared all over the blanket and showed it to the front desk. They laughed at us saying there was no way this was a bed bug and that they could have just changed the sheets for us. If this is how they deal with bedbugs, I’m sure that there are multiple rooms here with bed bugs. Their attitude was never apologetic both times we had a problem. The refund offer was pitiful and one of rudest interactions I’ve had with any hostel staff ever. DO NOT STAY HERE. if u really don’t care about bed bugs or cleanliness, give it a shot i guess.

DO NOT STAY HERE! BED BUGS! When we first discovered the bedbugs and told them they tried to gaslight us into thinking it’s a different bug when we clearly knew what kinda bug it was, as when we killed it… it splat blood all over the place. Even with picture evidence the white guy at the front desk decided to be degrading and condescending. He dismissed our claim and laughed at us. He implied that since this is Vietnam… WE don’t know how to live in a foreign country (we are expats) and that Vietnam is a dirty country in general (diss to the whole country). We packed up all of our things and left, they said that the solution that they offered, to split our group up into two different rooms and stay separate for the rest of the nights that we had booked, was an appropriate solution to finding bed bugs. We chose not to stay and was offered a refund of 25% of our total price even though we didn’t stay a single night. I’m disappointed with their unapologetic and rude attitude to a very serious problem.

The hostel is cheap, and the rooms are surprisingly quiet given the location. Those are about the only things the hostel has going for it. I saw several cockroaches and bedbugs. Hygiene or cleaning is clearly not a priority. This is also evident by the fact that towels are not included in the price. Promoting hygiene among the guests is part of a solution. Besides that, there is dirt on the floor inside and there always persists a terrible smell as if people are smoking in the hostel. Although the staff is friendly and can give travel tips, the poor hygiene and the way they manage this overshadows it all. Also note that the location is an alley next to a busy bar street. If you book, be prepared to walk through crowds whenever leaving or entering the hostel.

Majority of my friends got bed bugs and loads of bites. When confronted with this the staff claimed we were lying and had no proof, even after seeing pictures of the bites and bed bugs in the beds. Took us a full day of talking to them to receive some form of compensation, with the majority of staff incredibly unhelpful and outright ignorant to the situation. Had to check out early and in the end only refunded 4/11 of us with only a 200,000 dong payment. Do not stay here.

Do not stay here. There are bed bugs in the rooms and conditions are poor. Much better options out there. The reviews are a lie as they give you free drinks if you leave a good review. Go somewhere else.

The only good points are the free breakfast and the price. Do NOT stay here—there are bed bugs!! The hostel is filled with young Western guests who match the low price level, and it’s common to hear loud conversations indoors. Located in a noisy area, the place stays lively until late at night with heavy bass sounds. I absolutely do NOT recommend this hostel for those who prioritize a good sleep environment! A deposit of 100,000 VND is required (credit cards are accepted)

Location is great if your wanting social party side of hanoi, walk out the door and your on beer street, the daily breakfast was delicious. The private rooms was nice and decent but after 2 nights and alot of bites later I realized there were bed bugs which I had video proof of after stripping the bed and once I asked for a refund for the last 2 nights of my stay one of the staff members seemed annoyed at me. I found some (not all) of the foreign volunteers to be unfriendly which made it abit uncomfortable at times.

Never going here again! Rooms were filthy, ants crawling on the walls!, bed bug. Staff wouldn't do anything about it. Definitely wouldn't recommend deserve to get 1 star .

Amazing location in the centre of Hanoi with a great roof top bar and nice staff. Breakfast was an open buffet with a good selection of food, we also got a free dinner on NYE which was a great addition. The rooms however did not look anything like the pictures, there was no natural light with the lockers covering the windows and bunk beds all stacked together so very little room in a 6 bed dorm. We also witnessed one of the cleaners come into the room and change one person’s bed sheets who had vacated however the thick blanket that it’s used as the duvet was not cleaned or changed and just left there so the next person will be using the same bed cover. I also witnessed bugs on my bed which could have been bed bugs… You are offered a free drink or shot to give the hostel a good review which could be one of the contributing factors as to why the hostel has such good reviews. There are other, cleaner hostels to choose from in the area so if cleanliness of your bed is a big thing for you then I would look elsewhere.
