Very small place and barely anything in the facilities department. Would only go there for a quick trip
Great staff, hard to find.
We stayed here for one night on our way out of town - it served that purpose. I wouldn't have wanted to stay an additional night. It was in what felt like a rough area - though, unless you spend big $, Cairo is rough. We stayed in a private room and it was sufficient, but not nice. The pictures on the website don't accurately reflect the room we stayed in. The pictures make it look much nicer than we found it to be.
Pretty underwhelming. Nothing wrong with here in particular, great location. But the private rooms just look like someone isn’t maintaining the place. Marks all over the wall, things just not well kept.
Comfort and cleanliness are the most important things for a hostel in my book and Tahrir is great for both. Also has a really nice breakfast included which changed each of the 2 mornings I was there, and the staff were welcoming and smiley, especially Andrew. However, the main door and dorm room doors don't lock so slight security issue, but the main building front door is locked at night which helps. Also, the inevitable endless car horns from Tahrir Square might keep a light sleeper awake
This hostel is running a tight ship. Everything is clean, breakfast is great, staff are extremely accomodating. Special shoutout to Yosra who went above and beyond to make the hostel feel like home. In all my time travelling, I've rarely met people as generous or hospitable.
I enjoyed my stay here. It was brief but nice. It is really hard though to find due to lack of signage. Also it is behind an iron fence so you'll have to walk about 50m to meet anyone picking you up.
The breadfast okey but the tours not
Some facilities a little worn and dated but all kept clean throughout the day. Staff were friendly and helpful as were other guests but there wasn’t much atmosphere. It would be great to have some information provided about what to do in the area and tours that are available.
It was a quick stay, but a good one. There are 3 bathrooms, a good breakfast (egiptian standard), good staffs. Good beds with own light, socket and curtain. I just missed the possibility to buy something to drink.

The hostel is really nice and situated in the nice part of town. It’s close to the Intercontinental and the Ritz Carlton, which says a lot about the location. I enjoyed staying in the top bunk because of the steps - instead of ladders. It provides more privacy and space to sit on. Finally, the staff here are simply amazing. Everyone speaks English well and Andrew, William and Lamia really made me feel at home with their genuine cere and service. I would stay here again next time I ret...
The location suits the majority of your needs. For Egypt's standards the place was clean, they clean daily & do regular checks on the bathrooms. The lockers are like drawers at the bottom of the bed & a bonus is that they let my friend store his backpack for free at the lobby. The truly amazing thing was the hospitality & the kindness of the working staff especially at the reception. Their treatment deserves an award and for that you should treat them nicely with respect aswell. Love from 🇬...
The greatest place I’ve stayed at in Egypt. Cool staff and they don’t try to rip you off and say you paid a lower price. Oh, stay away from Alexandria. Go to other nice places in the south. But yes, this is a nice place to stay in, and Wael is awesome.
Best location possible in Cairo, Rive view from window, staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming. 3 min walking distance to river front

Great place.. Only thing to add is wifi speed was 3g level.. Idk if it's just coincidence or regular.
GREAT hostel in Cairo! Super friendly staff, great location, cozy and well equipped! Definitely recommend.
Tahrir Square Hostel is much more than a hostel! It feels like home in Cairo - Hesham, Lolly, Duaa, Lamia and Shihab are extremely friendly and welcoming - I made friends with guests from all over the world. Beds, bathrooms, kitchen, and shower areas are extremely clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast is served every morning. The location is very central and walkable from the museum, restaurants, and even the Nile waterfront. The hostel has many recommendations and even helps arrange tours ...
