We found bed bugs in our bed. When we told staff they said they inspected the tent but didn't find any bed bugs and they "haven't had any bed bugs in 6 years so it's highly unlikely to be bed bugs". We then showed them photos and videos of the bed bugs but the owner tried to gaslight us to our face saying the photos weren’t from their tents. We were moved to a new tent so the tent could be treated, but we noticed the tent had been rented to new guests later that day. We ended up checking out early. Honestly, we had a horrible experience and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We confirmed with the hostel that the bed bugs weren’t from us as we had been in a private residence for 3 weeks prior

Free Cerveza è un ostello fronte lago, in stile tende, sul Lago Atitlan, con un setup social forte: cene di gruppo, drinking game, trekking, attività tipo yoga, nuotate, kayak, paddle board e un pontile fatto per lunghi hangout sull'acqua. Le viste sono una vera parte del fascino, e il posto può funzionare bene per chi vuole una scena rumorosa, comunitaria e piena di attività invece di un ritiro tranquillo. Il pezzo forte è l'accesso privato al lago con paddle board e kayak gratis. Questo dà all'ostello un ritmo diurno incorporato: nuota, galleggia, siediti sul pontile, unisciti a un'attività, poi scivola verso cena o bar senza bisogno di troppo piano. Il setup per dormire è rustico. Tende e casitas possono essere divertenti e diverse, ma le tende possono diventare estremamente calde dopo l'alba, fredde di notte, strette, poco ventilate e deboli su storage o insonorizzazione. La muffa è stata un problema ricorrente nelle tende, inclusa muffa nera, quindi non è una scelta a basso rischio per chi è sensibile all'umidità o a trigger respiratori. È meglio leggerlo come un social lake camp con energia party che come glamping lucidato. Il contesto, le attività, le docce, il cibo nei giorni buoni e l'atmosfera da grande gruppo possono essere divertenti, ma toilette, mosche, rumore, logistica cash-only, lamentele per malesseri da cibo o acqua e prezzi alti sono caveat seri.

- Le toilette compost possono avere odori forti, e le mosche possono essere un problema attorno a bagni e aree comuni.
- Le tende possono essere molto calde di giorno, fredde di notte, strette, rumorose e con poco spazio per riporre cose.
- La muffa è stata un problema ricorrente nelle tende, inclusa muffa nera.
- Cibo e acqua filtrata sono stati collegati a malesseri di stomaco, quindi un po' di cautela è sensata.
- L'ostello può sembrare rumoroso e orientato al party, con drinking game e musica invece di un tranquillo ritiro sul lago.
- Potrebbe servire contante, il pagamento con carta o online può costare extra e l'accesso agli ATM vicini può essere inaffidabile.
- Il setup della birra gratis può dipendere dall'acquisto della cena family invece di essere pienamente incluso.
- Non c'è un normale setup self-catering, e i costi del cibo possono sommarsi.
