As others have stated, they have a problem with bed bugs. Not well signposted to find it either. Dorms are tiny and sheets had wear and tear and dirt. Bathroom and showers were dirty and old, and there was nowhere to safely secure your belongings (no lockers). Would not recomend staying here as a female traveller.

Je ne recommande pas cette auberge. Premièrement les chambres ressemble à des cagibis, impossible d’avoir une peu d’intimité, on est collé aux autres. Je ne parle pas non plus du confort des lits avec mon amie on est arrivée on avait 25 ans, on repart on en a 85, un mal de dos que je n’ai jamais ressenti. Si votre chambre donne côté rue, vous allez être en pleine immersion, comme si votre lit était installé au milieu de la rue, il n’y a aucune isolation. En plus de ça le lieu est infesté de punaise de lit. J’ai été piquée lors de la deuxième nuit et on en a vue lors du petit déjeuner ! Le second matin on avait un bateau à prendre donc on s’est levé tôt pour avoir le petit déjeuner à la première heure, mais personne en cuisine ni dans l’auberge. Normalement à 8:30 celui ci est servit, mais là il était 8:50 et toujours rien, de plus quand on part on croise l’hôte en pleine balade matinale dans la rue. Sympa ! Il faut traiter les punaises de lit, en fermant l’auberge pendant un temps, et changer vos matelas !

I had the worst experience you can imagine in this hostel. First of all there is BED BUGS in the rooms and the staff doesn’t really seem concerned about it. It looks like this is something occurring a lot in this place, the sheets are full of stains indicating a previous infestation. When telling them that I found bed bugs the first reaction from the staff was to propose me to just spray the beds with chemicals before actually moving me to another room. They insisted a lot on the fact that this is not their fault if there is bed bugs the fault is entirely due to the guest… I believe that when an issue like this one is recurring you should start to questions yourself too and how your treatment you are applying is definitely not working. Then if you book from HostelWorld there is a hidden taxe of 10MYR per night per person that is never mentioned anywhere. And when I questioned the staff about it the only response they had was “It’s everywhere the same in Malaysia”. It’s definitely not!!! I will not advise anyone to book a room unless you like bedbugs and staff that don’t care about you🙂

The positive side is that the staff was very sweet and nice and that the location was good. The old house also has a certain charm. But. I think they have bed bugs. The sheets were in a disgusting condition, with many small brown/black spots. We also saw a bed bug -looking insect in the bathroom. The staff said they use some "strong" spray for the bugs but that didn't convince me... The showers and bathrooms were also extremely old and a bit disgusting... I would not go again.
