Cliff's Hostel

Super coole Leute dort getroffen. Leider hatte ich danach Stiche/Bisse auf meinen Unterschenkeln in einer Linie. Warnzeichen für Bettwanzen in irgendwelchen Polstern dort.

No internet, no vibes, some bed bugs and manager insulted my mother's weight problems. Overall not a great experience. Also bed sheets were too thin and hostel was cold, thankfully found some furniture to stack on myself to keep me warm

We went there one year ago for New Year’s Eve and it was amazing. My four buddies and I have great memories from that trip. Unfortunately, our skin started itching after a while. Two days later, we saw our first bed bug — it was around 1 a.m. We decided to sleep in the infested bed anyway. The staff was nice, but each one of us had bed bug bites for the rest of the trip. They didn’t give us any discount and only offered to wash our clothes with regular soap. I’m giving 2 stars for the location of the hostel and the memories we made there :) P.S. Theo (my buddy) will send you his videos and pictures of the bed bugs in an hour or two. The bed bugs were kind of cute… but I wouldn’t recommend spending a night with those little buddies.

Very nice place and staff. The only bad thing that happened, we got BEDBUGS. so be careful.

Pancakes were nice option, and there was a supermarket close-ish. Smallish place and not overly social but still chatted to few people and got tips about activities and compared experiences. Caught a bed bug on my arm on last morning there, and realised the weird 'mosquito' bites from previous night had been bed bug bites to which I had had a reaction. They seemed to sprayed stuff which I guess kept things in check and avoided infestation, but still some lives ones about to bite you.

Bettwanzen im Zimmer, personal sehr unfreundlich, es wird versucht zu leugnen das Bettwanzen da sind anstatt sich mal um die Hygene zu kümmern.

Bed bugs in multiple beds. Didnt get refund

I enjoyed my stay here for the most part, however my last evening there I was woken up by young kids running around and screaming and was then informed by other guests we had bed bugs. The cleanliness could have been better, sponges looked like they hadn’t been changed in months. When my friends brought these concerns to the owner of the hostel he sent a few very unprofessional messages back. However, the price is good, the location is good, and the volunteers and staff were also friendly

If you don't want to itch during your entire holiday, don't choose this hotel. There are bed bugs in all the rooms. The owner of the hotel says I sprayed. The next day, someone else is itching all day. kitchen is in bad shape. beds are not good.

Bedbugs. I checked out early due to bedbugs, no refund for the nights I did not stay was given. They wanted me to sleep in a hostel that was actively being fumigated. Place is dangerous and should not be allowed to operate this way. (Updated to include photos of bites) Jeez indeed

We ended up finding bedbugs in the beds, eventhough we asked the hostelstaff about it prior to sleeping in the beds because we found some anti-bedbug powder there just after checking-in. Would not recommend staying there.

We spent two nights there. During the first night we had a lot of bed bugs bites. We told this to the staff. The staff took it serious a tried to clean our room, but the next day we had even more bites. The cleanness at the Hostal was not good. We saw cockroach and the place didn't feel that clean. It isn't the most social Hostal and everything seems a bit old.

The cleaner kept the common areas clean and the people were friendly. I woke up with bites so checked my mattress to find bed bugs. They sprayed the mattress and I was then expected to sleep in that bed again. I took it upon myself to change beds. The next night they finally gave us another room. THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS.

We've stayed at Cliff's for two nights. Cliff, the owner, greeted us personally, as he likes to do, and showed us around. The place has a water purifier (important in Bocas due to the water being poisonous if it's not purified), a pool table (which is really in a tight spot, so playing requires some compromises), a nice rooftop with a good view, and a kitchen where half of the equipment is broken. The kitchen also doesn't have a scheme for labelling ownership, which is weird. There goes the five star rating. We booked a private room, which came with an AC and an old mini fridge. The room was a little cramped, but we didn't really mind. The reason we left early, however, was bed bugs. We confronted Cliff about that and he was as devastated as we were. He seemed honestly concerned, gave us our money for the next night back (since we checked out early) and even put something on top. Bed bugs can happen at the best hotels, so it would be unfair to put all the blame on Cliff, so the bed bugs don't factor into my rating.
