Bale Sasak Bungalow

Bei der Anreise wurden wir freundlich empfangen, allerdings durften wir nur in Bar bezahlen und haben keine Quittung/Rechnung bekommen!! Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit Poolblick gebucht. Dieses hat in der unteren Etage ein Klo stehen, welches mitten im Raum steht, man kann von der oberen Etage also runter schauen. Außerdem gibt es eine Außendusche (Regendusche mit ausschließlich kaltem Salzwasser) ohne Tür o.ä. zum Badezimmer und ein Waschbecken mit kleiner Ablage für die Waschtaschen, die allerdings nicht benutzt werden kann, da das Waschbecken undicht ist und alles nass wird, genau wie das Klo, welches ebenfalls undicht ist (siehe Bild). Auch die Abflüsse riechen extrem übel! In der oberen Etage steht ein Doppelbett mit einer dünnen Decke und einem kleinen Schrank. Außerdem ein Sideboard mit einem Fernseher. Desweiteren gibt es einen kleinen Balkon mit Blick zum Pool. Die Tür zum Balkon wird nur zugeschoben und ist sehr lärmdurchlässig, genau wie die Eingangstür, in der nach dem Schließen ein Spalt bleibt, durch den Mücken in‘s Zimmer kommen. Die obere und untere Etage werden durch eine Klappe geschlossen. Vor den Fenstern hängen dünne Vorhänge. Am Tag ist der gesamte Bungalow super dunkel, die kleine Lampe bringt im Schlafzimmer auch kein wirkliches Licht rein. Unsere Klimaanlage und der Ventilator funktionierten zum Glück und auch Bettwanzen schien es bei uns nicht zu geben. Der negativste Punkt ist die Lautstärke. Neben der Anlage ist eine Mosche, 5x am Tag ruft der Muezzin, das erste mal um 5am und dann bis 5:15am. Da die Wände sehr dünn sind hört man sowohl die Gebetsrufe, als auch die Gespräche im Nebenbungalow oder die Stimmen und Gesänge im Eingangsbereich/am Pool. Ab 6:45 planschten dann die ersten Gäste im Pool, auch das war nicht zu überhören. Die Nacht war nach der kleinen Unterbrechung von 5-5:15, ab 6:45 vorbei. Dazwischen raschelten Tiere über‘s Dach oder durch‘s Zimmer, wir konnten es nicht genau zuordnen. Frühstück gibt es von 8-10am. Man kann sich ein Gericht aus der Karte aussuchen und bekommt entweder einen heißen Tee oder Kaffee (siehe Foto) dazu. Insgesamt kann ich diese Unterkunft nicht empfehlen, sie ist zwar günstig und zentral und das Personal gibt sich Mühe, aber all in all ist diese Unterkunft wirklich schlecht.

It rarely happens to me to make negative comments, because I usually find out about the place beforehand. But here, I must share the bad experience I had at this place. I booked 4 nights after seeing good reviews on google. When I arrived in the room, the shower head was broken and the toilet did not work either, I had to wait 2 hours before everything was repaired and functional. But at that moment I said to myself, it doesn't matter, it's stuff that happens. In the middle of the night, I woke up because I was bitten. BED BUG! I therefore had to change hotels (at midnight) during the night as I did not want to invade my bag, and my things. The boss told me to come back the next day, that he would reimburse me. The next day, he only reimbursed me for the following three nights! Honestly I don't recommend. The photos are from before covid, I feel like it hasn't been maintained since.

Place is great, but we got unlucky with people going in the room before us and they bring bed bugs...

I don't usually leave reviews but I had such a bad experience that I think this warrants one. Room is old and not very clean. Our room sits on wooden stilts that feel like it was going to collapse at any time. The stair rails were also shaky and rickety and not safe at all. The outdoor toilet is dirty. The toilet seat is moldy and the shower water is a small trickle. At night it was very loud with people coming in at 3am in the morning and making a huge ruckus. There were also a lot of mosquitoes or bed bugs (not sure what they were) which left huge, itchy welts all over my body. The mosquito net had holes, rendering it pretty much useless. I did not sleep much the entire night. Wi-Fi signal is often weak and sometimes non-existent. The price is very cheap - this I do admit. However, I have definitely stayed in places that were cheaper and way better. The lack of amenities is not that important but at the very least, it should be clean and safe. I have read reviews of the hotel and it turns out the admin of the place spends more time sending snarky replies to people who have left bad reviews than actually fixing the place up. Edit to respond to the owner: In response to the owner's defense that I shouldn't expect too much from a budget room - The price is very cheap - this I do admit. However, I have definitely stayed in places that were cheaper and way better. The lack of amenities is not that important but at the very least, it should be clean and safe. I shouldn't be expected to accept bed bugs (I posted the review one day after staying there so I wasn't sure, but a few days later, it is confirmed that those were bed bugs) and unhygienic living conditions just because it is cheap. At the very least, rooms should be clean and clear of pests.
