After my first night I woke covered in bites. I thought this was mosquitos initially but the second night I was itching like crazy on my left leg so had a look at the sheets and found bed bugs. I wasn’t impressed with how housekeeping dealt with this. They simply moved me to a room across the hall, didn’t strip the room I was in and even gave me the towel from the contaminated room! I asked for some compensation and the hostel did wash all my clothes free of charge but it left me feeling very unsettled. Hopefully a one off occurrence, the reception staff were good to me but housekeeping could improve
