Efficient check-in by the staff. Nice, no-fuss breakfast. The place was clean but spartan. This is a large upstairs space in the garment district that has been converted by installing roofless cubicles, each of which has room enough for a single bed and a small table with lamp; hooks on the wall for clothes and a mirror. There is a wooden lattice on the top of the cubicles. Location is within sight of Penn Station. This is a vegetarian place. No meat or fish! the management may be ISKCON - there was a lot of Krishna literature on display and photos of Swami Bhaktivedanta. There is someone in the office supervising 24/7. There was a peaceful vibe. Pros: low cost. Clean enough. I saw no signs of bedbugs. Cons: the physical setup means you can hear everything anyone says, for instance cellphone calls. Fortunately people really are quiet after 9-ish. My cubicle was next to the common sitting area and I didn't have problems sleeping. This is not the place you want to be if you need to do Zoom meetings from your room. The bed was too short for anyone over 6 feet. There is a shared bathroom with toilet stalls, shower stalls and sinks. I really would not want to be in this place if there were a fire, but the same is true of any hotel.
