I paid for a premium to stay in a pod suite so was expecting an experience better than a youth hostel - however there were bed bugs in my bed and the bathrooms were poorly maintained at anytime of the day. It was terrifying to take a shower there with the unhygienic conditions, considering when 40+ people shared only 3-5 shower suites on that particular floor. Perhaps frequent cleaning of the bathrooms is needed to ensure they are maintained at an acceptable level, otherwise this will cause quite an inconvenience to the guests who intended to stay. I could not stand this hence I decided to check out one day early and forfeited part of the fees that I have already paid in advance. Ended up forking out ~$S100 to stay somewhere else and have never looked back.

Il Pod - Boutique Capsule Hostel è un albergo compatto in un punto centrale vicino a Bugis, Haji Lane e Kampong Glam. Caffè e acqua gratuiti sono disponibili e il bucato gratuito è un vantaggio pratico. L'edificio sembra pulito e moderno, ma le stanze sono strette. Le capsule sono piccole e i letti superiori possono essere difficili da salire. La luce e il suono passano facilmente attraverso porte, muri e tende, quindi le notti possono essere rumorose. Alcune stanze sembrano anche calde, rigide o buie. I bagni e le docce sono generalmente puliti e le aree comuni sono funzionali. Il personale è spesso cordiale e disponibile, anche se il check-in può essere tardivo e la colazione è semplice con una breve finestra.

- Il rumore si diffonde facilmente attraverso porte, muri e tende.
- Le culle e le stanze private possono sembrare strette, e i letti superiori sono difficili da raggiungere.
- Alcune stanze sembrano calde, invecchiate o molto fredde a causa dell'aria condizionata.
- La colazione e' breve e i bagni condivisi possono essere occupati nelle ore di punta.
