I paid for a premium to stay in a pod suite so was expecting an experience better than a youth hostel - however there were bed bugs in my bed and the bathrooms were poorly maintained at anytime of the day. It was terrifying to take a shower there with the unhygienic conditions, considering when 40+ people shared only 3-5 shower suites on that particular floor. Perhaps frequent cleaning of the bathrooms is needed to ensure they are maintained at an acceptable level, otherwise this will cause quite an inconvenience to the guests who intended to stay. I could not stand this hence I decided to check out one day early and forfeited part of the fees that I have already paid in advance. Ended up forking out ~$S100 to stay somewhere else and have never looked back.

Analisi dell'atmosfera
The Pod - Boutique Capsule Hostel is a compact capsule hostel in a central spot near Bugis, Haji Lane, and Kampong Glam. Free coffee and water are available, and free laundry is a practical plus. The building feels clean and modern, but the rooms are tight. The pods are small, and upper bunks can be awkward to climb into. Light and sound carry easily through the doors, walls, and curtains, so nights can be noisy. Some rooms also feel warm, stale, or dark. Bathrooms and showers are generally clean, and the common areas are functional. Staff are often friendly and helpful, though check-in can run late and breakfast is simple with a short window.
