Ostello Le Sirene

Good location. Looked clean from photos. They let me store my backpack in reception to explore the area. Bed bugs!!! At first glance on the photos, this looks like a nice and clean place. However, I discovered 3 bed bugs in my room. 1 on the bed, 1 on the bedframe and 1 on the wall. When I brought this to their attention, they were responsive and fast to address the issue ans very understanding. They relocated me to another room because I unfortunately paid for 2 nights. I also saw bed bugs crawling on the wall there too. I would not recommend staying here because of bed bugs since I could not sleep at all! I ended up having to wash my backpack and all my clothes because I was worried I will carry the bed bugs to the next location. (So thats an added cost unfortunately to my trip).

La habitación era demasiado pequeña para 4 personas. Las camas rechinaban muchísimo, pero la peor parte es que HABÍA CHINCHES. Me levanté toda llena de picaduras de chinches (bedbugs) lo que fue un absoluto asco, sabiendo que estos bichos aparecen donde no se limpia bien. El baño chico, la ducha estaba más o menos bien. La puerta corrediza dejaba pasar luz, frío, ruido y olores a la habitación, innecesario. El hostel NO TIENE COCINA NI NADA QUE SE LE PAREZCA, solo es una cama y un locker chico donde no entra nada. Lo único bueno es la ubicación y el hecho de que las recepcionistas son buena onda, nada más. Vayan a otro lado!!!

Bed bugs in the room

Absolutely terrible Bed bugs. That is all. I checked in in the evening and essentially paid 50 euros to stay awake ALL NIGHT scratching myself and killing tiny (and big) bed bugs which were crawling everywhere through my sheets and mattress. Every time I relaxed for 20 minutes about to fall asleep again I would feel more bites on another part of my body. Shined my phone flashlight on the wall and mattress and found innumerable bed bugs crawling everywhere throughout the night. Lost a night of sleep and the whole next day of vacation is a writeoff, no energy to do anything. I told the woman in the morning and the first thing she said is maybe it's mosquitoes. I shower her a picture of bed bugs and she said oh, another guest must've brought this in. Immediately she deflected responsibility to anything but the hostel. The payment a traveler makes for accomodation is to have a safe and comfortable bed and place to stay -- I didn't receive either, and I should've been offered a refund. I would literally have been better off sleeping on a park bench. I'm very sour a refund wasn't offered. Lastly, there is nothing resembling a common room, kitchen, common area, etc. 0000 opportunity for community, friends, meeting people, and all the other reasons why we backpackers travel 🧳. Beds tiny, rooms cramped, everything bad.
