   Close to city could walk everywbere Not once there was hot water glad get home have hot shower ,staff openex up bathroom doir while i was on toilet i felt he took my pride way,i asked vout hot water,not once did i see cleaner go clean rooms the bin was never emtpy snelt,also xouldnt sleep dye ti lady i think on drugs walj in and out all night was very rude i coyld only find this backpackers avabile i would rather sleep on street, very cold place,staff only work few hours in receeprion which find silly ill never book gain i should get refund 5 days without shower is wrong

   Avoid this place – Dishonest and Unsanitary I had a terrible experience here. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely dirty and not at all as advertised. When I decided not to stay due to the poor conditions, the management was very cunning and refused to return my $400 bond. This is a dishonest way to run a business. Please stay away and find somewhere else in Hobart that respects their customers and maintains basic hygiene. Theres a guy with black shirt on the reception he is the worst.

   I paid the full bond of $400 and also the weekly rent. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom were not as described, and I didn’t even stay for a night. I was told my bond would be refunded, but when I returned to collect it, they refused. I understand the weekly rent may not be refundable, but my bond should be returned as promised.

   The prospect of a long term home. Being banned without any reason, after being offered a long term room by the owner, 3 days after being assaulted by another long term guest. That violent guest has lost his temper at young women twice before and was not kicked out, still there. He preys upon young female backpackers. The kitchen is not cleaned at night feeding a cockroach problem. The older brother owner then claimed some drug user stigmatized association, as an excuse for his illegal gullibility for targeted discrimination. I hold a current national police check, have a glowing Queensland Police character and ethics reference, and do not use illicit drugs, drink or smoke and am drug tested regularly for work. You will regret staying here guaranteed.

   The amazing friends I made, they know who they are. First time I've been physically assaulted by another guest in 4 years travelling. THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS! DO NOT STAY HERE!

   The social network. The friends I made. Zac Harrison a long term guest threw chilli in face in an unprovoked assault. Someone stole my $800 drone from a locked room, and a staff member looked very guilty everytime it was mentioned. Food thown out. Rude manager who never blowers the butts like hes supposed to. Literally the worst customer service of a manager you could possibly imagine. Never smiles. Want a discount? Nah he'll find fees to add. Caretaker joked repeatedly about mutilating my genitals. Zac and Indian Jay long term sit in the kitchen staring at young women cook, for 6 hours, making them feel uncomfortable daily. Broken night entrance door. Lots of rats and cigarette butts at entrance. Nasty neighbour baker trying to vilify me constantly, which is completely illegal.

   They double booked our room, because of a mistake on their website. Due to this a man (one of the staff?) came into our female-only dorm in the middle of the night and physically shook my sister awake and told her to leave. They took no responsibility for the mistake and didn’t apologize at all. Our email receipt and the booking on their official website said we had booked for 2 adults. Manager told us we either pay the entire amount again or they cancel the entire booking (due to the holidays there is literally no where else to go). Horribly handled by the manager, who should not be working in the service field. Note: We just checked now and the website is still advertising the false prices.

   *ZERO* STARS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PLACE, I GOT SCAMMED BY THEM. This is the worst hostel I have ever stepped foot in. (On top of the already poor amenities and badly kept, dirty rooms!) THEY DOUBLEBOOKED MY BED AND A MAN CAME INTO MY FEMALE DORM AT 1AM, SHOOK ME AWAKE AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE. next morning when I went to the reception, and showed them the booking confirmation email and the charge for the room, the manager would not admit any fault, did not apologize once, and HE CHARGED ME AGAIN, MEANING THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME. He was HORRIBLY RUDE and blamed the whole situation on me, even though I had evident proof that they were the ones that had made a huge mistake. Undoubtedly the worst service and MOST TERRIBLE MANAGER I have ever encountered, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! If anywhere else in town had availability I would absolutely leave here immediately, but unfortunately I have no other place to go, which they certainly exploit.

    Very Noisy place, Laurence was nice and helpful but other receptionist many nights sitting outside and gathering people and making noise even after midnight even till 3 am!!! Many times I reported it but no change! Your stuff can be stolen in this place even in your single room. I stayed first in shared room then around a month in a single room. In single room someone opened my room's door while I was inside room and went to other room quickly, to check if I am there or vacant, when I asked receptionist to check camera, he said they don't have camera in that corridor! In kitchen they stole my stuff and even there was camera and I report it but they don't check camera! dirty bathrooms and kitchen with cockroachs. They put water in soap bottle and I can tell water is more than soap. In first level there were no warm water in shower room you should go up stairs.

    They didn't waived our cancellation fees We needed to call our trip off due to personal reasons and asked 5 days before the stay to cancel it for free They charged us the half of the cost of the stay I'd actually liked to see the hotel but now i will not come back here

    This was truly the worst accommodation experience of my life! The backpacker was filthy, the facilities were outdated, and the common areas looked like they were still under construction, yet the accommodation wasn’t even particularly cheap! The backpacker had around 20–30 rooms per floor, with each room accommodating up to 6 people, but there were only 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets on each floor. Isn’t that far too few?! On the day of my stay, when I returned to my room at night, I found someone else sleeping in the bed I had checked into! When I reported this to the staff, their solution was simply to give me a new set of sheets. They still charged me the full price! This wasn’t my mistake, so why should I have to bear the consequences? The backpacker manager’s attitude was also terrible. My three friends and I had booked the room together, and while I was actively trying to assert my rights, the manager hysterically told me to get out of the backpacker. He said he would refund my booking fee the next day but refused to refund the fees for my other three friends. It was all part of the same booking, so I can’t understand this absurd way of handling the situation! Let me state this clearly once again: this was the WORST accommodation experience of my life!

    they charged me 50 dollar for the key that i forgot to give it back. i gave the key after 5 days back and they still didnt want to give my 50 dollars back.. it was a scam hostel

    Worst hostel I've ever encountered. 3 of us booked online then on arrival there were no unoccupied, clean beds in our allocated room. Reception was finished for the day, tried to ring but no answer. Eight beds packed in to a tiny room so no wonder people were using beds to put their suitcases, clothes, shoes , anything really! Beds were covered with people's stuff. Toilets etc were filthy also.I cancelled my online booking immediately but was charged for all nights booked . Rang again the next day and also messaged but no response. Don't even bother here..try the yha..I hear it's much better.
