The Independente Hostel & Suites

Bed Bugs! We just spent 2 nights and I discovered I was covered in bug bites. I immediately went to front desk to alert and ask for assistance and they were not concerned and took no action to clean the room, or help me bag my things and wash. They were fine having bed bugs and my things spreading it around their hostel. To not do anything and not hope shows lack of cleanliness, but also poor service. We have emailed and they have still not replied. Avoid!

There is no woman-only rooms in hostel, two my roommates were men, was a bit uncomfortable. Allegedly bedbugs. Smell of old kitchen in the old building. Reception guy didn’t show anything, just gave instructions how to find the room. On the key-card was information about discount in cafes and bars, but ppl in the bar declined to give a discount, saying they aren’t partners, although having literally the same name and cocktail menu.

The matrass had bed bugs and I was bitten all over my body. The manager shifted me to a single room. I got a complete refund and compensation to buy a new set of clothes as a gesture of goodwill which i felt was not justified as my vacation was ruined. I spoke to the doctors back home in the Netherlands and they suggested me to get rid of my baggage, which was a very difficult decision. After having discussed for a couple of days I had to settle with what they offered, I had no choice. breakfast is basic and limited for 9e a day. If you need eggs then you need to pay extra.

In een van de bedden zaten bedwantsen, dat heeft de nodige irritaties opgeleverd. Verder prima bedden. De straal van de douche was een van de beste ooit! Alleen wel hele kleine douche ruimte. Locatie perfect en met een goed ontbijt.
