Hostel HOMEr - Old Town

After reading many negative reviews, especially about bed bugs, but we did not experience anything like that at all. The location is perfect, you really couldn’t ask for better. Cleanliness could have been improved, and some of the kitchen plates were not very clean, but considering the price we paid, it was acceptable for us so it wasn’t a big issue. The staff was fine, and we had no problems with them. Please note that payment is cash only. Overall, it’s a good budget option in an excellent location if you don’t expect luxury.

I booked a private bedroom with bathroom and kitchen for me and my girlfriend. The reason I booked this hostel was because it had good reviews on booking.com, the location was good and the pictures looked good online. When I first arrived at the hostel I was told they didn't accept online payment even though I thought I had already paid while booking. There was no mention of this whatsoever in the booking process or per mail so I was reasonably annoyed first off. The staff wasn't rude but not hospitable either, If anything it felt like I was intruding on her. The receptionist spoke good english through. The room we were shown had nothing to do with what I actually booked, in fact it was a 5 bedroom dormitory and not a private room. After insisting that this wasn't what we booked the staff member showed us a true prívate room that was okay but still not what was online. After my girlfriend started freaking out when looking at the bad reviews about bed bugs which honestly ruined my night. The apartment wasn't particularly clean either. I would recommend for travellers who Don't want to pay much but keep your expectations low and for people who have any Standards for hospitality please avoid.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, so I’m writing this review to warn others. • Terrible staff attitude I booked a room for two people, but for some reason we were taken to a dormitory-style room with five beds. The price was the same. When I complained, they switched us to a two‑person room, but it still wasn’t the one I had originally reserved. The staff were generally cold and careless—they really need proper hospitality training, especially the woman at the front desk. •Photo scam The place looks nothing like the photos shown online. • Extremely dirty Some reviews mentioned bedbugs, though we didn’t encounter any during our stay. Still, the bathroom had strange stains, the sheets were dirty, and overall it was just awful. • Many things don’t work The hair dryer didn’t work even when plugged in. The kitchen is well-equipped, but in this condition I didn’t want to use it at all. There were no amenities provided, so we had to wash our bodies with just water. There wasn’t even a trash bin in the room. Maybe I’m more sensitive because I grew up in Japan and I’m used to Japanese hospitality, but judging from the other reviews, it seems many people felt the same way. I strongly recommend that you avoid staying at this hotel. 今まで泊まったホテルの中で過去一最悪だったので、皆さんに知らせたいと思い、レビューを書きます。 ・スタッフの対応が最悪 →2人部屋を予約したのに、何故かドミトリー(5人部屋)に案内される。値段は同じ。文句を言ったら、2人部屋に変えてくれたが、予約した部屋とはまた違う部屋だった。スタッフは全体的に冷たくて適当、もっとホスピタリティを訓練すべき。特に受付の女性。 ・写真詐欺 ネットに載ってある写真と全く違う。 ・とにかく汚い →トコジラミが出るというレビューもあったが、私たちが泊まったときは大丈夫だった。ただ、洗面所に変な汚れがあったり、シーツにシミがあったり、とにかく最悪だった。 ・使えないものが多い →ドライヤーはコンセントにさしたが使えない。キッチンはたしかに充実しているが、もうこの状態で使いたいとは思えない。また、アメニティが全くないため、体は水でしか洗えなかった。部屋にはゴミ箱もない。 私が日本で生まれて、日本のホスピタリティに慣れているから、ここまで気になるのかもしれないが、ここのホテルのレビューを見ると、みんな思っていることは同じそうなので、ここに泊まる選択肢だけは取らないで欲しいです。

Ruined Vacation!!!! BED BUGS!!!!! I want to make it clear from the start that the hostel staff are very kind, but unfortunately, the owner continues to rent the place knowing there are bed bugs. We planned to stay for two days, but left during the first night. After only about 1.5 hours in the bed, the room was crawling with bed bugs; near the outlets we could see several, almost impossible to notice, and later we counted about 10. At check-out, one even fell from my backpack onto the couch pillow. We lost an original Apple charger in the rush to leave, spent €25 washing and drying all our belongings, and now live with the fear of bringing this infestation home. A truly horrible experience. I strongly recommend extreme caution before booking here.

BED BUGS in the rooms!! I’ve seen portable toilets that are better kept than this place. Had to leave early and find a new place to stay out of concern for my health.

Dont stay here unless you want some pets with you home. Yes you heard me right. I got body lice from the sheets at the hostel. BODY LICE. And now im terrified that i might have brought them home with me. The sheets didnt feel clean but i made my own bed and checked for bed bugs. But some how i missed that the body lice are actually almost invisible and will stick to the sheets. I dont recommend staying here. The location is great but it doesn’t make up for the rest. I would rather stay in a really nice and CLEAN hostel further out from the city than this one.

DO NOT STAY HERE! BEDBUGS. And very dirty. No one cleans under the bed and the bathrooms are always dirty. Also, rude front desk lady (black hair and braids).

Hi, please check for bed bugs in your rooms. I experienced bites everywhere

My number one complaint was dealing with bed bugs. I changed my bed the second time, and I was still getting bites on my body. I am not sure how often they clean the bed, but despite that I changed my bed, I was still getting bite marks. The bathroom looks mostly unclean most of the days. While toilet papers are stacked, the room is full of hair and dirtiness across all three shower rooms. It feels like there's barely any effort in cleaning up.

Got bed bugs bites. Apart of that- was average place to serve some late night arriving

BED BUGS!!!!!! Please please take your money some place else. It is NOT worth it. Dirty old building and smells bad. I am 100% sure this is the hotel I stayed at and the owner and staff there knows that's their floor in the photos. I just left there the other day and I knew I had to put this here to warn others. Stayed in a 12-bed dorm on the 2nd floor.

BED BUGS AVOID THIS PLACE FOUR YOUR HEALTH! ! I arrived with my family on Friday night 22th Sept. Next day I woke up with big bites of BED BUGS on my hands, legs, shoulder and back. I went to the reception and the girl told me that she will speak with the manager about that. When I come back in the afternoon the answer on reception was that the manager checked it personally and didn't found anything on the room. Also one of the girls at the reception told me if I saw them (asking me about a prove) I told her not I didn't see because that is disgusting to try to find them. So, she told me that is not possible and perhaps it was regarding with something that I ate. They called the cleaner who changed my bed sheets, but still new bites appeared on my legs the next two days. Today 25-09-2017 we removed the bed sheets to do the check out and the BEDBUGS appeared in my bed and the bed of one of my relatives. (Pictures are attached to this email). I showed the pictures to the guy who was at reception and he told me to send this email. Also, the bathroom was very dirty for the 3 days of our stay. we didn't see it clean at all. As well as the dish washer full of dirty plates and cups. The pillows smells very bad. HOSTEL HOMER was the most dirty place that I ever been. Avoid to stay here because they have a huge issue with cleanness and a Hazard of public health.

Quarto ok, mas camas muito barulhentas e tudo muito fechado. O prédio é antigo, as áreas de convivência são ótimas, mas encontramos bed bugs na nossa última noite lá.
