Mad Monkey Phuket Patong Beach

Black mold in the bathroom and the floors were gritty. there were small insects on my bed sheets but they weren't bed bugs at least. Some of the volunteers were very over the top and it actually made the atmosphere unpleasant. I'm sure other times it's fine. lovely bar staff. I'd avoid Patong in general however. I cut my stay short

Horrible. Bed bugs in the bed, room was wet, dusty, got bronchitis. Will never stay here again. Only upside was that it was social and i made friends. HOWEVER i literally booked a hotel the second day and stayed there and they wouldn’t refund me

Great social hostel but be careful of bed bugs in the room.

If you don't mind bedbugs, go here :) other things are good.

Female only dorm has a lovely en suite. My friends and I’s beds were all covered in bed bugs the entire time no one helped or changed them. The nightly events are okay the staff are good at getting you involved the pub crawl is a bit expensive and a bit rubbish the bars aren’t good. There was some clicky groups that make you uncomfortable who are the ones sleeping with the staff so the events can be tricky but it wasn’t a bad experience and not too loud and chaotic for a mad monkey!

Great hostel, really clean and social. We stayed for 2 nights and found bed bugs in our beds on the last night, we let the staff know and hopefully they’ve sorted it out

Our room was very dirty we woke up with many bug bites. we checked out early and complained to reception and they didnt seem to care.
