PURE EVIL!

Bathrooms often smelt quite bad, on one occasion someone left a razor in the shower and on another someone else left a pocket knife on top of the sink, the rooms could benefit from an air purifier because the air gets quite stuffy in the mornings (especially in the 15 bed room), extreme levels of dust underneath and behind the bottom bunk (photos attached), and I believe I experienced bed bug bites (photos attached) on my 3rd night because I woke up with a bite on my arm, finger, side of my hand, back of my thigh, and 2 on my stomach, but the man working the night shift took a look at my mattress said he didn't see any bed bugs on my mattress. He also gave me a new set of bedding. I didn't see any either, and didn't experience more bites during my stay, but bed bug or not, it's concerning to be bitten by anything in your sleep while staying somewhere else. The small wooden lockers are way too small for any sort of bags, they can fit a purse at most. The steel lockers are bigger and can fit a carry on sized suitcase, but there are only six of them in a 15 bed room. One person used their entire locker just to store 1 pair of shoes inside, which seemed greedy and like a waste of space. I came back one night to my towel (which I had purchased) used by someone else, which was really gross, but thankfully I was given another one by a staff member. I stayed at Generator Paris during the middle of my stay as I decided to take the Eurostar, and that hostel was far better and almost the same price per night as this one. Generator also has a location in London so I would probably stay at that hostel my next time in London.

Bed bugs & staff not so friendly. Gave me sassy attitude and a fake smile when I told them about the bed bugs. And just said sorry. And the day before the bed bugs situation. I went to order food and it was 11:55 but the kitchen opens at 12 , the lady said come back and order, the staff member could had taken my pre order and printed out the ticket. Instead of chilling for the last 5 mins. so inexperienced and not very guest service driven

The hostel seems like a nice place; however, I would avoid it. I got bitten by bedbugs, and the hostel didn't even bother to respond to my inquiry. Look at the photos of my body after a couple of nights in this place and decide if you would want to stay there.

I travel for work, and stayed here for two weeks. The room I had at first was fine. The room o has for the second week was not. when I booked my second week I was told that I two week was the limit, however when I checks out there were guests still there that were there before I arrived two weeks earlier. I checked out on time and was waiting in the bar area, the manager approached me and told me to turn My phone down, this was at 10:30am in the morning in an empty pub, she then told me I couldn’t sit where I was sitting, and that the seat I was on was for pub guests and not hostel guests. I challenge her and said I found her attitude to be very poor, she retaliated by attempting to talk over me and talk me down. When I punted this out to her she said ‘Go for it!’ Which I found puzzling, she was confrontational, argumentative and dismissive. And said she was just enforcing the hostels policies. I asked her what he policy was on bed bugs because there was an infestation. I didn’t point out the cleanliness of the shower and toilet area which for the two weeks was atrocious, and when I checked out today two of the toilet and shower rooms (with multiple shower and toilets in them) were out of order. She would do better to make sure the amenities are operational and hygienic rather than picking on a guest who would have not have written any review had she not been so obnoxious.

There were loads of bed bugs in mine and my friends beds. Had to evacuate the building immediately get a bus straight back home to Bristol to then wash all of our clothes and selves. Had no sleep because of this so was a terrible night stay

Blocked toilets, bedbugs, a mouse in the common room, stained sheets. No kitchen but mugs of boilied water available from reception if you have your own tea bags. Offer free coffee for positive reviews. No thanks. Lovely and helpful staff.

DO NOT BOOK. Bedbugs infested. Multiple incidents if you read reviews. I was given a refund after complaining but does not make up for the money lost on medication, new lodging, and multiple loads of laundry to wash the bugs out. It’s been over a week and i’m still covered in itchy painful bites. On top of this there are no lockers for luggage besides a common luggage room anyone can access. The bathrooms AND showers are co-ed. and the whole hostel STANK. Worst hostel experience ever!

Spent one night on Saturday 8th and I have bed bug bites all over my body. The place was grim.Decent enough pub for a drink but do yourself a favour don't ever stay here.

Cheap for a reason, although I booked in advance. I’m seeing beds for tonight going for 211 POUNDS!? Stay clear away from here especially for that price, beds are some of the noisiest I’ve ever stayed in, on top of that they’re nasty too, weird stains and everything is super beat up, hearing people complain about bed bug rashes🤢 the whole floor smells like poo when you enter the hostel area. Majorly not worth it just pony up a little extra cash for a better place and steer clear

Bed bugs were really bad. Drunken guests in adjacent room made noise well past 4am and one of them came into my room, woke me up by shaking me repeatedly and then waking me up.

We paid directly to the hotel in advance, arriving they told us that the payment was made to another person who works in the hotel but commonly does not receive payments, so they told us that we had to do it again and we did it, we paid for the second time, and what we had already paid would be refunded to us in a few hours or two to three days. It's been seven days since our last night at the hostel and they still haven't returned it to us. In addition, the beds were full of bedbugs…

Staff- extremely rude and unapologetic. Cleaning “mess”- check... With bedbugs included and really disgusting toilets and showers. WiFi is not the greatest for someone who works remotely Overall a very loud place in and out of the dorms- very difficult to have a good night's sleep. I don't recommend it!

This was my first hostel experience and it would have been fine, except that on my last day I got woken up by bedbug bites. I suffered bed bug allergies all over my body the rest of my vacation which was very inconvinient. Also, the bathrooms stink. Plus side though was the staff and location. Overall nope, I won't be booking there again.

The shift staff are ok friendly and are well trained But after speaking with the (GM Pete) about there policy on there bed bugs issues and tried to get moved to another room or bed i was told to leave i ask on what grounds his answer was i have the right to refuse service to any one ( due to being homeless and in need to get rest so i could go work i pleaded to stay as a refund would not cover another hostel or travel to another hostal ) i only wanted a place to rest in stead i get assulted by bed bugs for 6nights on the trot in spite the crown had a pest control team around on Tuesday (so it was reported to myself and some guest that where there ) my room was quickly filled with new guest but the bed bugs have not been removed from the place yet as of last night and my last night in this bug infested hell hole I was bitten three times on my face IM DONE WITH THIS PLACE not much sleep DO NOT TAKE CHANCE WITH THE LOW COST HOSTEL IT WILL BREAK YOU BITE YOU THEN BUM YOU OFF

The bed bugs and the cleanliness! I came away with bed bug bites all over my body. They have given me a full refund, but the bed bugs seems to be a reoccurring problem. Plus the shower and toilet facilities do not feel clean. The whole place smells like feet too

We spent 4 days at this hostel in the private 3-bed room. The last day I started to notice small pimples all over my body and we saw several bed bugs. Right now I have more than 200 bites and I swear that I am going to report them to the authorities that I can contact from Spain. Avoid at all cost, we had to Washington everything in +60ºC water to avoid the infestation of bedbugs.

BEDBUGS! I also developed a rash and hayfever after staying here. Welcoming reception team was brilliant but upon checking out, no one was there despite telling them I'd be checking out early in the morning. Had to leave and come back to check out, and that time reception team can't handle criticism as well.

My partner and I booked this hostel and arrived to find the bunks infested with bed bugs. The staff refused to switch us to another room or book us alternative lodgings, leaving us in a bind at 11pm. Save yourself the trouble and find a more sanitary location.

They had bedbugs, and when told of the problem, refused to give us another room or help secure an alternative sleeping arrangement (at 11pm). The room was absolutely infested.

Avoid at all cost! Bed bugs everywhere!!!! Slept for a couple hours got bitten multiple times, terrible place to sleep!

This time during my stay I saw bedbugs in my bed. Photos attached. I asked my room mate he saw also them in his bed. I clearly understand that it's not a 5* hotel but This is absolutely unacceptable for either a hotel or a hostel. I was badly bitten by the bedbugs.

There was bed bugs in my room, dirt marks on the walls that have been ignored even after i killed them the cleaner didnt bother to wipe up the stains. After they sent people to clean the bed bugs out, the very nect night when i came into the room i had seen a bed bug crawling across the floor in the same area I mentioned where i had personally loctated them all and brought ut up to them. I requested a refund of some sort as I believe I deserved that since they were crawling right by my bunk bed and one actually touched me so much so i had to miss two nights of sleep and sat downstairs at the bar all night because i wasnt comfortable in that state on no cleanliness.

Bed bugs in my bed!!! Do not go here!!! This hostel had bed bugs, I woke up covered in bites and found bed bugs on my bed and crawling on the wall beside me. AVOID THIS PLACE!!

The three bed dorm has bedbugs I’ve sent a complaint and have not heard anything. It’s a shame cause if they kept the place clean (showers / toilets) and there wasn’t this bedbug problem it would be a decent place.

Everything was dirty, bed bugs, the toiled were full of vomit and piss and no one was cleaning them. The showers you need to press them every 3 seconds in order to be able to take a shower, so it’s very annoying. The room was very warm, with some awkward fans which were really noisy. I was supposed to stay here for 7 nights, after one night I left this atrocious place. Avoid at all costs if you don’t wanna get sick with something… The staff seemed very unprofessional, the guy or girl who checked me in was wearing something similar to a pijama and was not service oriented. After the report they did not give me any compensation. Never again.

- blood and urine in the sheets - bedbugs - no ac and poor ventilation - smelled like dead bodies We've stayed at multiple hostels during our 3 week backpacking trip, some are nice, some are sketchy, but this... Our room was not fit for human habitation let alone travel lodging, you'd be better off sleeping on the street. The smell in our room was so foul that we were gagging the whole time, and just long enough for us to pack our bags and leave. I raised these concerns to the front desk and they seemed to be aware of the issue and lent a sympathetic ear. They said they would honor a refund for our stay while we checked out to go find another accommodation. However they said that we had to raise a request through Hostelworld, which later promptly waived their hands and said nope. The hostel has since been ghosting every attempt of mine to contact them directly about the refund they said they would honor. I think this is a scam, they probably rebooked our same room to some other poor sods and pocketed the money. They know the room is cratering on illegal but are still making reservations. Unfortunately the only recourse at this point is to dispute it through the bank. So enjoy your 70£ review Publove. Where's the refund you promised??
