Hostal Guatefriends

I stayed in Lago Izabel mixed dorm room, and there was mold in the upper corner of the room right where I slept. I only noticed it in the morning with daylight. It was also extremely hot with no ventilation. The best part is, I may have bed bugs from this hostel. I woke up with clusters of small red bumps on my back and a few on my leg….im SHOCKED they have a 9 rating

It’s dirty. I was awakened in the middle of the night scratching myself and was eaten alive by bedbugs. They were on my pillows and sheets and mattress and I have tons of videos and pictures to prove it. I filed a complaint and do NOT believe this place should be allowed to be on booking.com! The kitchen table and counters had ants in it. There is no one at the service desk to help at all between 11pm and 7am, which is ridiculous! My bathroom had a window in it that had another bathroom from the hallway attached to it and you could hear everything in that other bathroom and they could see into my bathroom and room. The place is extremely outdated and I would say in the level of a “roach motel” and NOT a hostel. They also told me they couldn’t reimburse me because I didn’t tell them so they could open up their machines and now their machines were closed so they couldn’t reimburse me. I told them that the gal actually woke up at 2am to take someone to the airport and I told her and showed her and she saw with her own eyes and she never offered to reimburse me in the spot. This place is shady and dishonest and gross. Please don’t stay there!! I was in the Volcán room.
