Hostel Utopia

The accommodation was in very poor and unsanitary condition, posing a risk to health and safety. The actual state of the property did not match the description or photos shown on the platform, which constitutes a serious breach of the service provided. I was forced to remain at the hotel only because there were no affordable alternative accommodations available in the area. The place was smelly, we found bedbugs, chewing gums and snots in the room. The 2 out of the 3 sheets had stains, furthermore the mattress was uncomfortable and also had stains (money). The towels provided and the shower were dirty and it had strong smell. I also asked 3 times for a hairdryer and the owner constantly said “a customer has it. Due to the severity of the hygiene and maintenance issues, the stay was not fit for purpose.

Full with bedbugs be careful

Our room had bedbugs. We found a couple and had to check out at 2 AM. The hotel staff said they'd refund us, but they didn't, they offered 50% but not the full refund as promised. The very angled stairs in the narrow hallway weren't great. Overall, cheap motel.

Most of the facilities are slightly broken and dirty and not the most clean. I did get a few bed bug bites unfortunately

La douche ne fonctionnait pas très bien, eau froide intermittente. Chambre vétuste et literie peu confortable.

Dirty, bedbugs,

family (private) room is Positioned just above the "coffee shop" the room facing the road always have the weed smell. The toilet hot water supply intermittent. Room beds with bed bugs. Unable to enter since the small entrance is crowded with the "coffee shop smokers" If you are with some family members and non weed smoker, DON'T GO!!!!

The property was like something from a nightmare, the person who greeted us was mute, he didn’t speak. The rooms were filthy dirty and crawling with bed bugs, the room had blood splats on the wall and the beds were covered in sticky substances. The shower was absolutely shocking and it took one person to hold whilst the other showered. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything going on next door. We spent as minimal time as possible in this “hotel”. It was absolutely 100% not worth the money I spent. A hostel would have been cleaner.

It was €150 a night which is extremely overpriced for a budget hotel. But I stayed in high season and this reflects the stupidly high price of all Amsterdam hotels. They're all at fault for this, not just one hotel. Although there was a clean towel, there wasn't any day tidying of the room, nor soap provided (although liquid soap was in the bathroom/toilet.

No star from me. Here is why... I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with 2 other friends, we got a separate 3 single bedroom, price was a bit high, but we didn't mind it as we had our own space. The only annoying thing after the first night was that I started getting very itchy and annoying spots on my body. One of my other friend started getting them too. We searched around the room to see if there was any mosquito's around but I couldn't see any! Which leave it down to bed bugs!! Now that I am back home (England) even after few days the red itchy marks. I have around 20+ that I could find all over my body. The reason for the bad review is so the business can improve on these issues and make their business better and also help other people decide where is the best place to stay
