   Dirtier than expected. No ventilation on rooms. Can barely open windows. No curtains on the beds, ensuite bathrooms were really NOT properly cleaned. Housekeeping would only take the bedsheets and sometimes mop the floor. Unlucky I got stolen in the bedroom but it's not the hotel's fault I guess. No kitchen. Only one common area with little to no plugs and, of course, tables were pretty much always dirty as the rest of the facilities.

   Lovely location. Comfy beds. Place was clean. Booked a private room. A stranger came in in the middle of the night looking for her stuff, which it turned out the staff had moved and not told her. No apology or even much concern when this was reported to the front desk. Only issued one key for room of 9 people. Staff unfriendly and not particularly helpful. A real shame as had previously stayed and had a good experience.

   First, I booked my stay online from the 17th to the 19th for 15 pounds per night, which totals 30 pounds. When I arrived, they told me the booking I made was for a mixed dorm full of men — I was the only female there, which can't be right because I can't be the only woman sleeping where all others are men. I asked for a female dorm, but they said it was full and refused to give me my money back. I then asked for the price of a single room, and they told me it was 50 pounds per night. Since I was staying two nights, that would be 100 pounds, so I paid the remaining 70 pounds to cover the balance after paying 30 pounds already. To my surprise, when they showed me my room, it had two beds and was quite small, with the bathroom and toilet outside. I checked out today and realised the room I stayed in actually costs 30 pounds per night, not 50. So why did they charge me 50 pounds for a double bed in one room when the actual price is 30? And why did I pay 100.2 pounds instead of just 60 pounds? And also when booking they should make it very clear that its mixed room Its was after paying that it was showing mixed What I saw when i was booking was just available rooms

   This place is a criminal health hazard. It’s not a hostel; it’s a dump run by thieves. DISGUSTING HYGIENE: Water leaking from the ceiling, filthy rooms, and I woke up covered in insect bites (bedbugs). Absolute biohazard. THEFT & SCAM: Duringa power cut , then went into our rooms without permission and stuffed all our belongings into TRASH BAGS. During this 'process,' £500 WAS STOLEN from me. PATHETIC MANAGEMENT: The staff is incredibly nonchalant and lazy. They couldn't care less about the theft or the state of the building. They are arrogant and completely useless. TOTAL CHAOS: Constant noise, zero security, and zero respect for guests. STAY AWAY. These people are scammers. I am reporting them to the London Health and Safety authorities. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Note : ★☆☆☆☆ (ZÉRO ÉTOILE EN RÉALITÉ) C'est un véritable scandale sanitaire et criminel. Cet endroit ne devrait pas être ouvert, c'est un enfer sur terre. HYGIÈNE DÉGOUTANTE : L'eau fuit du plafond, les chambres sont immondes et je suis ressorti couvert de morsures d'insectes (punaises de lit). C’est un nid à infections ! VOL ET AGRESSION : Pendant une coupure d'électricité, ils ont bloqué les portes. Ils en ont profité pour s'introduire dans nos chambres sans autorisation, vider nos vies dans des SACS POUBELLES et les jeter dans un coin. Résultat : on m'a VOLÉ 500 €. DIRECTION HONTEUSE : Le personnel est d'une nonchalance révoltante. Ils s'en foutent totalement, ne cherchent pas de solution et vous regardent de haut quand vous signalez un vol. C'est de la complicité pure et simple. NUISANCES : Entre le bruit assourdissant toute la nuit et l'insécurité totale, c'est une zone de non-droit. N'Y METTEZ JAMAIS LES PIEDS. Ce sont des escrocs et des voleurs qui profitent des touristes. Une plainte est en cours. Cet établissement est une honte pour la ville de Londres.

   When I was there I saw a man physically attack another. He choked him until his face lost all color. This was over nothing because the attacker was mentally ill. The staff did nothing and it took other guests to restrain him. Cameras also recorded the event. He was arrested but released the next day for “lack of evidence”!!!??? The staff allowed him to check back in. This place is dangerous! Edit: what night did you take these alleged actions? It wasn’t when I was there. You did nothing. You are therefore suggesting that this type of behaviour is regular. All the more reason to stay away from your property in addition to your rampant rodent problem.

    Absolute worst hostel I have stayed in my entire life. Very dirty and unsafe. It’s marketed as a youth hostel but everyone in my room and my friend’s room was over 40. Absolutely not worth the cheap price, had to check out a day early due to 0 sleep after a long trip and loud guests who blocked all the lockers and left a bowl of cereal and a filled kettle on the floor which got knocked over (the kettle) as it blocked my locker and the water spilled all over the floor. Someone was looking into my friend’s locker in his men only room and contemplated stealing his shoes. Will spend the night with no accommodation because even that is better than this hostel.

    I am writing to share my serious complaint about the conduct of a front desk staff member (the man wearing spectacles) at Safestay Holland Park. His behaviour on multiple occasions was unprofessional, disrespectful, and threatening toward customers. I had booked my stay for 6 October 2025 by mistake instead of 6 September 2025 (payment: £17.42). When I arrived on 6 September and explained my mistake, the staff member did not offer to rebook me for that night. Instead, he told me he would “do me a favour” and required an additional £6 payment. On 6 October, I returned to check whether my original booking was valid and to pay if I had assumed incorrectly. The same staff member refused to check the records, accused me of “tricking” him, behaved rudely, and I had to pay £12 to stay that night. As a result, my original £17.42 booking went unused. In addition to overcharging and mishandling my booking, I personally witnessed him behaving similarly with other guests, threatening them with being blocked or blacklisted if they raised complaints. I understand the booking policy states that date changes are not allowed and bookings are non-refundable. However, the staff member could have explained the situation clearly or advised me on how to rebook properly. Instead, he behaved rudely and unprofessionally, creating a hostile environment. I request that Safestay take serious disciplinary action against this staff member. People like him ruin the reputation of a good hostel and make guests feel humiliated and helpless.

    Nous avons eu une expérience très désagréable dans cette auberge de jeunesse pendant le week-end. L’homme à la réception – portant un tee-shirt jaune, avec les cheveux courts, une barbe et le teint mat – a été extrêmement impoli avec nous lors de l’enregistrement. Quand je suis allée à mon lit attribué dans ma chambre, j’ai trouvé un homme déjà allongé dessus. Je lui ai demandé poliment de partir, mais il a refusé. Je suis donc allée immédiatement à la réception pour demander de l’aide afin de le faire sortir de mon lit. À ma grande surprise, le réceptionniste s’est retourné contre moi au lieu de m’aider. Non seulement il a défendu l’homme qui avait pris mon lit, mais en plus il nous a insultés en disant que « de toute façon, les Français sont tous des sauvages ». Mon lit attribué était sur le lit superposé du haut au troisième étage dans un dortoir d’hommes. Pour ma sécurité, j’avais spécifiquement choisi le lit du haut afin qu’on ne puisse pas m’atteindre facilement pendant mon sommeil. L’homme qui avait pris mon lit était allongé sur un lit du bas au milieu de la chambre – exactement l’endroit que je ne voulais pas – et il n’avait aucun droit d’être sur mon lit. Cette situation était inacceptable, dangereuse et a été gérée avec un manque choquant de professionnalisme. Je ne recommande cette auberge à personne. De plus, les sanitaires étaient constamment sales, ce qui rendait le séjour encore plus désagréable. We had a very unpleasant experience at this youth hostel over the weekend. The man at the reception – wearing a yellow t-shirt, with short hair, a beard and a tanned complexion – was extremely rude to us during check-in. When I went to my assigned bed in my room, I found a man already lying on it. I politely asked him to leave, but he refused. I immediately went to reception to ask for help in having him removed from my bed. To my surprise, the receptionist turned against me instead of helping. Not only did he defend the man who had taken my bed, but he also insulted us, saying that “French people are all savages.” My assigned bed was on the top bunk of the third floor in a men’s dormitory. For my safety, I specifically chose the top bunk so I wouldn’t be easily reached while sleeping. The man who had taken my bed was lying on a lower bunk in the middle of the room – exactly the spot I did not want – and had no right to be on my bed in the first place. This situation was unacceptable, unsafe, and handled with a shocking lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. In addition, the bathrooms were always dirty."

    One of the cheapest places to stay in London, but the problem is when you arrive and see that there are homeless all over the hostel, drinking on the terrace and sleeping in the rooms. My friends and I didn't feel very safe, and the lockers in the rooms didn't lock properly, so anyone could have stolen our stuff. The location is great because it's inside Holland Park and you have good bus and underground connections.

    Worst place in London, not too expensive it’s true but not safe at all and not clean too. I felt unsecured all of my stay there, they’re so many homeless staying in my room, staying in the lobby. The staff should not allowed them to be honest for all the safety and for the customers too staying in the hostel. I get stolen too in my room. And the room isn’t cleaned at all, bathrooms too. If you want to storage your luggage you need to pay, if you loose the key (card) too. It’s really weird. I will definitely never come back there and I don’t recommend this place too. Location not bad for bus and train stations.

    I booked for a 1 night stay at Safestay Kensington hostel. Upon arrival yesterday they said the booking was for the following day but it was not. So I booked for last night came back today to check in for the 4 bed room I paid for, was denied accommodation on a floor I could physically get to as I use an assistive device to walk. Then the front desk demanded I stay instead in a 6 bed dorm instead of the upgraded 4 bed dorm I already paid for. The front desk this evening demanded I pay more money to stay in their required 6 bed dorm which cost less than the 4 bed dorm I already paid for. I refused to pay it. I required they refund my fee since they were not keeping to the reservation to wit the front desk declined to refund my money. On top of all this my card was charged multiple times the price of several other beds. I paid for the 4 bed on hostel world and the 6 bed dorm bed at the front desk. In total I was charged $61.04 instead of the £12 for the bed in a 6 bed dorm ($21.14 USD) and the £18 ($23.78 USD).

    Poor Safety, Dirty Rooms, and No Responsibility from Staff I stayed at Safestay Hostel Kensington and was left extremely disappointed with the overall experience — from the facilities to the customer care. My £200 hair straightener was stolen from my own bed in the shared dorm. Only my roommates had access, which makes it evident that it was taken by someone in the same room. When I reported this to the staff, they showed absolutely no concern or action — no follow-up, no courtesy checks, not even a reminder to guests about respecting others’ belongings. If this had been a passport or gold jewellery instead, and the hostel staff still reacted the same way, the consequences would have been much worse. It honestly made me wonder if I was not taken seriously because I’m Indian — my concern was dismissed far too casually. Another guest in my room even mentioned her portable iron box was stolen as well. There is no safety, no empathy, and no accountability from the management. Aside from this serious issue, the basic conditions at the hostel are unacceptable: Check-in is only at 3 PM, and they charge £3 just to store your bag if you arrive early — something most hostels offer for free. The rooms are poorly maintained, dirty, and clearly not cleaned regularly. The Wi-Fi barely works in the rooms, and only works in limited common areas. The breakfast is overpriced for what little is offered. Safestay may look charming from the outside, but behind the colourful beds and trendy descriptions is a place with zero concern for guest wellbeing, safety, or comfort. Would NOT recommend to solo travellers or anyone who values their belongings and peace of mind.

    My stay was from 30th June - 2nd July.2025 DO NOT BOOK A PLACE IN THIS HOSTEL, Its not worth saving the money. I paid the entire tariff in full in advance via booking.com. The guy with curly hair (probably native to Africa) stated that due to limited availability he needs to give me a different room. He charged me £13.95, I asked him why. He asked me to either pay the money or leave the premises and no refund will be given as the charges are for room change. I said i do not want the room change. IT was 9.40 PM with no option left ,I paid the money £13.95. I asked for a receipt , He refused to give me one. I asked him to write it in a piece of paper and he refused to do so. A Total Fraud, I will report this with the Consumer court. Its a legal requirement and I will report the matter.     My stay was from 30th June - 2nd July.2025 DO NOT BOOK A PLACE IN THIS HOSTEL, Its not worth saving the money. I paid the entire tariff in full in advance via booking.com. The guy with curly hair (probably native to Africa) stated that due to limited availability, female dormitory and he needs to give me a different room. He charged me £13.95, I asked him why. He asked me to either pay the money or leave the premises and no refund will be given as the charges are for room change. I said I do not want the room change. IT was 9.40 PM with no option left ,I paid the money £13.95. I asked for a receipt , He refused to give me one. I asked him to write it in a piece of paper and he refused to do so. A Total Fraud, I will report this with the Consumer court. Its a legal requirement and I will report the matter. I asked him to give me his managers number and he again refused to do so. I got there early at 14:00 so I asked the lady if I can do the check in ...she said wait I will check if the room its ready then she said yes the room ready but I had to pay extra 5 pounds to do check in ...,not making sense at all !. the window in the room was broken and some insects were in the room ,dirty room and smells bad because of the mold.

    I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Safestay. I left my white Zara coat and a blue towel on my bed in a 6-person dorm (Room 020, Bed 5). When I returned later, both items were missing and the bed had been cleaned. The front desk claimed that the cleaning staff said the bed was empty when they cleaned it, which is clearly false. I left the room at 12:40 PM, and my belongings were still there. The new guests were not scheduled to check in until after 3:00 PM. I can only reasonably suspect that the cleaning staff took my things. However, when I raised my suspicions and tried to offer possible clues, the staff refused to investigate and dismissed it as a “manner issue.” They even said they would not check the CCTV footage unless the police came to the site. This is unacceptable! I have already filed a police report and have a crime reference number. The front desk staff are fully aware of this, but still refuse to cooperate. They have made no effort to help resolve the situation, showing clear negligence in protecting their guests’ belongings. If it was theft, why would someone steal a used towel along with my coat? It’s suspicious and unprofessional behavior. Safestay clearly lacks basic security and customer service, and instead of addressing the issue, they shut down any investigation.

(quickest entry point). - Great and friendly staff at the reception was very helpful. - Very sociable due to the sociable space. - There is no shelf near the bed’s lamp (the lamp wasn't working) leaving no convenient place to store essentials like glasses, contact lenses, or phone. - Despite being advertised in photos, the beds lack privacy curtains. - The provided lockers are too small to accommodate even a small suitcase. - There are no hooks for hanging coats. Even one per bunk would be nice. - “Creeps” tailgating, on my last night before I was leaving( 11pm), a guy was sitting in the communal area, as I got up to leave, he was also leaving, let him go pass, then he was standing at the entrance asking me for my key(already checked out and asking to get him in) reported it to the reception and they escorted me to the gate. However, the “creep” followed me to the station as soon as I left, and jumped in the first tube available. Never again! Such a shame, cause this hostel had huge potential.

    there’s a lot to say about this place. staff was unfriendly and it felt obvious they didn’t want to help anyone. showers and toilets were filthy and everywhere in the building smelled like bodily fluids. No social vibe at all which is whatever depending on what you’re looking for. On top of all of that, a woman was grabbed by a man in the middle of the night in my dorm and staff did nothing. Not a great spot for solo female travelers. Location is amazing, really the only good thing to say

    Nothing. I said because I had a bad back and needed a bottom bunk. I was given a mid bunk that I couldn't sit up in without hitting my bed. They then moved me to a top bunk with a ladder that I couldn't get in and out of. Two nights into my three night stay I found my bed cleared of my phone chargers and remade. My locked had been broken into and cleared out. I asked at reception and they had all of my possessions in a bin bag in lost property. I opened the bag to find my rucksack completely empty with all but one of my possessions loose on the bin bag. Someone had searched through my bag before handing it into lost property. When I asked the staff they said they weren't aware of who cleared both my bed and locker. Although it had to be a member of staff. I'm disappointed that I wasted my money in this place.

    Please do not be deceived as we were!! Although the location of this hostel is beautiful, it is far from safe and I would not recommend to anybody residing here, especially those with younger children. My friends and I booked the room for 7 of us and were reassured it would be a females only room and only us who would be sleeping there. However as soon as we had checked in and were given our key cards, we were sent to two separate buildings that were shared with strangers including men!! There was only one small toilet cubicle in the entire dormitory and nowhere to store our belongings except for the bunk beds. There were a few small lockers near the door but were almost the size of shoe boxes!! After asking for a refund we were denied and we did not push any further, however another staff member named Doa or Duah was extremely rude and began using foul language although we were speaking to a different receptionist. We have all the evidence on camera and felt very unsafe (ironically) as well as very vulnerable as a group of young girls. After we left the hostel, we received a notification two days later showing they had taken an additional £5 fee although we were constantly told it would be a free refund. Very disgusted and appalled, definitely do not recommend. NOT INTERESTED IN AN AUTOMATED REPLY ABOUT HOW YOU ARE DISAPPOINTED AND SORRY BECAUSE YOUR STAFF MEMBER SEEMED FAR FROM THAT.

    First of all, the location is quite pretty, although it’s very confusing to enter the area is quite deceiving. On arrival everything seemed quite normal and good untill we realised that the “rooms” that were supposed to be booked together, were actually in two seperate buildings. It was also not made clear that you would be sharing the dormitory with strangers but friends who were a booking of 7 were told they had the room to themselves and that it would be females only. However this was not the case, it’s stated a place for youth, but there were full grown men and the place did not feel safe at all. As there is only one bathroom and shower to share, the hygiene levels were considerably concerning. So we decided after the false advertising, we would not spend the night there, so we approached the receptionist, a few of them were very nice, however there was one really rude individual who spoke to us very rudely, she acted like a road man and was very unprofessional towards my friends, we asked to speak with the manager but she refused. We have a video of this incident and we were rufused a refund eventhough we didn’t stay there. Although the website states free cancellation, my friend was charged £5 after we said we were not staying there. If you are looking for a place to share with strangers and rude stuff but beautiful scenery, then this is the one. Otherwise save yourself some money as this is definitely not worth it. There is also no room to store your luggage and several people have access to your things even thought there is a locker, but it’s the size of a shoe box !!!! Just for your information this is the first negative feedback I’ve ever left, so this speaks for itself. I will not expose which staff member spoke to us rudely eventhough we were not addressing the issue to her but she felt she needed to but in. But just keep in mind if you dare to question anything you will be spoken to rudely. Also keep in mind the false advertising and if you are travelling alone or with kids. This is not safe place, ironically. Just another things, the pictures on the websites, looks nothing like what it does in real life.

    My experience at this hostel was genuinely awful, and I would not recommend it to anyone. The place was extremely overcrowded and poorly maintained. The bathrooms and showers were consistently dirty, and the shower water was dangerously hot. The rooms were also left in a dirty state despite some daily cleaning attempts, which just weren’t enough given the number of people packed into the space. There were no personal lockers available for us, so we had to use the locker of another bed, only for staff to break my padlock without any attempt talking to us beforehand. They also damaged my friend’s charger, yet refused to take any responsibility or compensate us. Additionally, the rooms lacked essential amenities like power outlets, lights by the beds, and WiFi, making the stay even more inconvenient. Security was another major issue. The room didn’t lock properly, allowing anyone to enter. One night, a man was shouting/cursing and banging on bunk beds, which was terrifying and left me shivering through the night. Staff were also disruptive, entering rooms late at night and talking loudly, and even vacuuming while guests were trying to sleep. The location felt unsafe as well. The path to the hostel is isolated, with dark passages, which makes walking back at night unsettling. It felt like the hostel was more focused on maximizing profits than on guest safety or comfort, with no refunds offered even though many guests, including myself, felt forced to leave early and find safer accommodation elsewhere. While there were some Halloween decorations and the bedsheets were decent, these small positives did nothing to make up for the overall experience. This place urgently needs improvement and better management.

    Hotel location is quite good few steps to bars restaurants. When I checked in both girls in reception very profesional and offered good customer service and ready to help. The fact that after I checked out few hours later my credit card was charged £5. Calling to reception I found out that was for the dor key. I mention I ve Ben sent out from reception from night porters at 12:55 and as can be checked on cameras I ve been told "you can take the key* I mentioned I ll leave 5 or 6 am and they told me I can be back to reception only after 9 am. Acting this way is stealing with intention as giving bad info to customers so they can be charged after. Another bad service offered was that I asked for a pizza and he told me he can make pizza he doesn t know how to make pizza only fish and chips. Pizza was served to 4 customers after that, so it was bad intention. I am qualified in Management and academic preparation at a University in London. This kind of bad service should be in management attention. It s not a 5 stars hotel but people should be respected. KIND REGARDS

    TL;DR: Good location, bad staff and cleaning, sketchy vibe. STAY AWAY FROM THIS!!!! The worst experience I ever had in a hostel. Even trying to be reasonable, the experience was just bad. Here are some highlights, Positive: the location is really good. But beware, if you come from notting hill gate, there is a terrible upward climb you must do. It is better to go through south kensington. Negative: First, the staff. While not rude, they were simply unhelpful. I had the bad luck of getting a room where the shower wasn't working properly. I spend five days there, and every single day I had to wait in a queue for 10 minutes to get the same response: "we're going to fix it tomorrow". This is simply unacceptable. Second, the cleaning. I know this is s a hostel, but rooms must be cleaned every day. Either the cleaning was done so badly that I did not notice the room was cleaned, or they simply didn't do anything. They didn't even changed towels during my 5 day stay. Third, the safety. The main gate lock of the hostel was broken, so any person in the park could enter and stay in the main areas. As a result, some of the people there passed a really weird vibe. Overall, if you're travelling alone, stay away from this hostel at all cost!

    Clean and just 10 minute walk from central line. Not many more positives. Showers were frustrating - tiny with nowhere to hang stuff, push button that wouldn’t work properly. Gates were left unlocked, anyone can open them and walk in. Would say it’s ok for 1 night stay.     I didn't like nothing about Kensington Hostels. The staffs impression looked like Prison Officers. They should be working in the worse prison in England. They treated me worse than animal. I nearly loosed my life. One white mad was below me. The first night he told me to turned my light off, I ignored him. He said he's going to reception. When I came back I asked him what did they say he didn't answer. The following night he was banging the springs on the bed I was on for half an hour. I asked him to stop the banging because the back of my head was hurting. He continued to ban approximately one and, half hour. The pain in the back of my head was getting worse so I shouted to frigging stop the banging. He got up and went outside. Then the white woman above me start moving and banging. In the morning approximately 11.30am on my way out I asked the receptionist if she could move me from the room or put me on a different bed? She sad the cleaners are finished, I should come back at 5pm There was one helpful male Somalian since I have been there he was very helpful. I told him what happen. He said he will send the evening cleaner to change the sheet, and I can sleep on the other bed One Hungarian white man came went on the bed below. Straight away he said I should turn my light off. I told him it's not against the law if I keep my light while I am reading. Then he said I should stop moving. I phoned the reception, and was explaining what was happening he said okay he's coming to the room. The both Hungarians rush out that they going to the Receptioni. They even have the cheek to asked the black boy if he coming to reception my.own black colour African. Very wicked people they are They ganged up on me then, took my last night payment, and had the cheek to tell me I am band from there. They have no facilities for disable.     Out of dozens of hostelling experiences, this was by far the worst. I was frightened after a fellow guest was assaulted and no effort was made my the staff to provide support or clarity on our future safety. It was extremely loud. I cannot express how loud. The all night partying was unbelievable and staff were unwilling to help when I requested a noise complaint be made. Basic amenities are not available (locks, towels, etc.). The design of the room, apathy of the staff, and absolute filth of the shower reflects and ownership structure that clearly sees the hostel as purely a money making venture in which no pride at all is taken in the quality of guests' experiences. I was so unwell from exhaustion of hardly sleeping at night that I left early and had to pay for somewhere else to stay Photos are of the incredible amount of black mould in the shower. It was shockingly disgusting.

    Imagine having another guest threaten you and seeing the staff ignore it. Now further imagine that same guest physically attacking another guest that same night and the staff also ignoring this, requiring the attacked party to inform the police while the staff chose not to. Okay now imagine the attacker returning to the property the next night after his arrest and bail posted and lingering for over 90 minutes in plain sight of his victim with no calls placed to the police from staff. “Safesay”? Is this meant to be ironic??

    Nice property if you’re looking for somewhere cheap. Wouldn’t recommend for longer than 2 days. If you’re a female I don’t recommend staying in mixed dorms here. It’s only older men and I had someone try and open my locker multiple times with their key and tried to get into my suitcase(which both had locks on them) so just be safe out there if you do choose this place.

    Had my bag knifed and items stolen. Went to staff they showed little care and suggested I email management who a week later has not replied. Saw many people arrested, swearing. Often had cigarettes on floor of room did not feel safe as a male in mid 20s. Would not stay again.

    I love the location - the buildings are beautiful and it's right beside an opera show, so when you are having your late-morning breakfast you can sit in the outdoor area and listen to lovely singing for free. It is quite peaceful, and people are friendly and come from all walks of life, all ages (except I didn't see any parents and babies). My bed - I'm a tall man so I found it a bit on the uncomfortable side but that's what you get when you book bunkbeds. My partner's shoes were stolen from her room - so for any future people booking here, I would at worst hide your things before you go to sleep, or at best use the locker facilities.

    I stayed in an 18 bed mixed dorm. I witnessed people stealing stuff in the dorm which made me more than nervous. I felt unsafe around the people in my dorm. I met some people outside that were nice. But there was always something going on with the police which made me not wanna be at the hostel.
