Overall really enjoyed my stay at Global Village. It was clean and great value for money. The best hostel I've stayed in. Brilliant location. Staff were a bit standoffish with the exception of Jesse, who was kind and welcoming. That being said, they all worked hard to keep the kitchen immaculately clean, which was appreciated. Breakfast was a welcome surprise and lovely. Bed was comfy and clean, and the showers were adequate. Personal preference I was disappointed people from other local hostels were able to access the building, particularly as they had bedbugs in their hostel and could have been transferring them to the lovely Global Village. I also did not think the accommodation was suitable for families, simpl as having two young (loud) children around was not desirable. Final thing I will say is that I originally booked a female only dorm to be informed that the website had made an error ('a glitch') and I was relocated into a mixed dorm. Not the end of the world as the other tennents were lovely, but I struggled to settle my anxiety as they arrived back at various times. Despite these minor opinions I will definitely consider returning, if I am ever in Belfast solo.

De 24-uurs keuken is hier het nuttige stuk: gratis rijst en pasta kunnen beschikbaar zijn, met thee, koffie, warme chocolademelk en een basic ontbijt van toast, cereal, jam of iets vergelijkbaars. De common areas kunnen cozy en sociaal voelen, met gametafels, een Xbox, een zithoek en genoeg keukenspullen om te koken, dus Global Village werkt het best als goedkope Belfast-basis met een DIY backpacker ritme. Locatie is een split call. Het kan handig zijn voor de university quarter, bars, restaurants, Botanic Garden, busroutes en een wandeling naar het centrum, maar de omliggende straten kunnen na donker sketchy voelen en de wandeling naar city centre is niet voor iedereen even handig. Staff kan vriendelijk en behulpzaam zijn, en de sfeer kan relaxed, sociaal en jong zijn. Het gebouw is de trade-off. Kamers zijn basic, soms piepklein, heet, koud, benauwd, licht of luid, en beddengoed, lockers, bunklampjes en stopcontacten kunnen versleten of onbetrouwbaar zijn. Badkamers en douches zijn een terugkerend zwak punt: beperkte toiletten, lange traproutes vanaf hogere verdiepingen, schoonmaakissues, schimmel, zwakke druk, koud water en kapotte sloten verschijnen allemaal als echte mogelijkheden. Dit is meer rough-budget chaos dan gepolijst comfort.

- Schoonmaak kan rough zijn, vooral badkamers, douches, beddengoed, tapijten en keukenoppervlakken.
- Badkamers kunnen ver van hogere kamers liggen, beperkt in aantal zijn, koud, schimmelig of zonder werkende sloten, zeep of toiletpapier.
- Kamers kunnen krap, luid, slecht geventileerd, te licht, te heet of te koud zijn.
- Onderhoud is wisselend: kapotte lockers, stopcontacten, bunklampjes, douches en verwarming of warm water zijn mogelijk.
- De buurt kan na donker ongemakkelijk voelen, vooral voor solo aankomsten.
