While the beds were clean and as far as I can tell the facilities are bed bug and roach free, The floors were gritty, The carpets dirty, several areas clearly boarded up not in the we are upgrading way but the we aren't going to bother way, And the poor kitchen cupboards were a mix of broken drawers. On top of this, In my three bed dorm there were only two outlets. It's 2024. There should be at least one outlet for every bed.

Would do for a very short stay but pretty there was bed bugs which made my sleep pretty rubbish. Didn't feel super clean and bathrooms and kitchen need a refurb. Felt secure enough as key card access to building and rooms but less than half the lockers were actually usable. Would book another hostel if I stayed in Hamilton again (not likely)

I got bitten by bed bugs the first night I stayed here, then I realized I wasn't the only one. In the other room my friends all 4 of them were Alos bitten... Not werf the hassle guys

I didn't like this place. The room was very hot and no window opened. The mattress was very uncomfortable and I found LIVE BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!.

I was bitten by the bedbugs with strong allergic reaction. Have very "nice" spots (some of them 10 cm size) in all of the body parts. all of the nights were horrible.

Backpackers Central Hamilton is vooral een goedkope, centrale crash pad voor Hamilton, met gratis parkeren als echte praktische win. Het kan werken voor een snelle nacht wanneer prijs en locatie belangrijker zijn dan comfort, polish of sociale energie. De setup is heel basic: keuken- en loungezones bestaan, en er kan een balkon of buitenruimte zijn, maar de vibe is meer versleten stopover dan backpackerhangout. Personeel kan vriendelijk en behulpzaam zijn, vooral rond check-in, kamerwissels, bagage en parkeren. De ruwe randjes zijn serieus. Schoonmaak is onbetrouwbaar in badkamers, keukens, vloeren, beddengoed en gedeelde ruimtes, met terugkerende problemen rond geuren, schimmel, verstopte douches, plakkerige oppervlakken en slecht bijgehouden keukenspullen. Kamers kunnen klein, heet, donker, slecht geventileerd of raamloos zijn, en bedden kunnen oncomfortabel of vreemd instabiel zijn. Dit is niet de plek om hostelmagie na te jagen. De sfeer kan vlak, shady of onveilig aanvoelen, met weinig backpacker-social life en noise control die ’s avonds laat misschien niet overeind blijft. Zie het als een last-resort budgetbed, niet als een leuke basis.

- Schoonmaak kan slecht zijn, vooral in badkamers, keukens, vloeren en beddengoed.
- Sommige kamers zijn raamloos, benauwd, heet, heel klein of slecht geventileerd.
- De sfeer kan onveilig of ongemakkelijk aanvoelen, met weinig normale backpacker-sociale energie.
- Geluid, dichtslaande deuren, dunne muren en zwakke controle op quiet hours kunnen je slaap raken.
- Keukenapparatuur kan vies, beperkt, kapot of lastig zijn om fatsoenlijk mee te koken.
- Ongedierte, schimmel, nare geuren, verstopte douches en onderhoudsproblemen kunnen aanwezig zijn.
