   • In the middle of the night a male staff member came into our locked room to lock away a computer and backpack, and took several questions before telling us he was staff not a guest.

   We stayed here in a big group of 12 last week. First impression of the hostel was good. Bathrooms are clean and room was decent (half the beds were on the floor though) However we encountered some experiences that are just not okay. In one of the rooms of 6 females, it was just the 6 of us in the room. We didn’t expect anyone else to enter. In the middle of the night a male staff member came into our locked room to lock away a computer and backpack, and took several questions before telling us he was staff not a guest. Another male staff member one night came in and out at least 6 times for a locker. He locked a phone in our room, which again was just us 6, which rang loudly several times in the night and we could not turn it off as they had taken the key. One of the walls in our room was completely hollow and damp. One of us lent against the wall before bed and it broke in, yet the staff are claiming we had a “party” and broke the wall. This is not true. We had a few drinks in our room one night, the other times were outside the front of the hostel. Staff are also claiming they came into our room to “check on us” after hearing “loud noises” from our room. This is simply not true, we were all asleep or going to sleep when the first time the man came in by typing out room code. We also spoke to a solo female traveller who said staff had done the same to her in her all female dorm and frightened her. We were not told someone was coming to fix the wall, and in the process they broke one of our headphones. Overall, the staff were rude, and we felt generally unsafe in this hostel. Had we not been in such a large group I would’ve been even more scared. Would not recommend to any other travellers, particularly female travellers. The response to our previous review also shows the nature of these staff members. Unfriendly and unwelcoming.

   i stayed here last week with a group of friends. as soon as we arrived there was another person staying in the room we had booked and had to get them removed. other than that, everything was fine and the staff member was pleasant. however, the second half of our group stayed in the second half of the hostel and had an experience that could only be described as unacceptable: the walls of their room were poorly built, hollow and damp. the walls were so terrible the plaster was peeling off and were so unstable it ended up breaking. when staff were told about this happening they were understanding and did not charge us for damages as it was not our fault. however, when staff broke an expensive belonging of one of our group they refused to pay any compensation and then threw the wall situation back in our face which then escalated the situation further. as well as this, one member of staff entered the room in the middle of the night while all 6 girls were sleeping and retrieved his personal belongings from one of the lockers in the room. another member of staff, again, continuously entered the room over and over again on his own accord through one evening and also used the lockers we had payed for at his own leisure. this made our group feel very unsafe. he also left his phone in the locked locker when he went home which rang repeatedly throughout the night which did not allow the 6 girls to sleep. yes, this place is good value for money and is in a good location but the experiences we had here were horrendous and unsafe. we would not stay here again and would not recommend to any other travellers.

   People sleep on random beds. My bed was occupied when I’m here, and they asked me to sleep on a free bed. Although all the beds are occupied. People came in the room at 2:30 am and found there’s someone sleeping on their bed. You can’t sleep at all with all the noises and complaints after 3 am. People outside were talking loudly and no one stop them. Staff came in and turned on the light at 1 am, checking who slept here without paying. That’s ridiculous. Sad experience.
