I found bed bugs on my bed and I got bitten and the room was not clean . Smell horrible

I stayed at this place back in January 2025. It took me a while to write this review but my stay here as a solo backpacker was traumatizing. I experienced bed bugs during my stay and even when they changed my bed and room I kept getting new bites. I ended up cancelling my future reservation and they gave me a future refund for the future stay but not for the stay with the beg bugs. I didn’t check the reviews which I should’ve but checking now I fear they might be removing reviews that mention bed bugs (there were more when i first checked). Luckily, the place has a routine for handling bed bugs so once I left I didn’t get any new bites but it was very traumatizing to say the least as this was my first time ever experiencing bed bugs and I was alone in a new country. The venue is beautiful and they host good events but not worth the headache.

The gap between the bed and mattress was messy, and it seemed like they don’t clean unless bed sheet and duvet. No wonder someone had reported bed bugs, though thankfully it was not the case for me. My pillow had mold, which suggested that it hadn’t been washed under the cover. Of course, the experience may differ depending on who you share the room with. In my case, the lights were turned off quite early at night, so everyone had to rely on my flashlight. It was also annoying that one guest left their alarm snoozing for almost an hour in the morning. Since they turned it off straight away each time, they could have simply switched it off. People were snoring, bumping the bed frames, and making noise, even if unintentionally. I had to check out at 3 a.m., so I packed my things and organized them outside to avoid disturbing others, but in the end, neither I nor the sharers were somewhat bothered. The drawer located at the bottom of the bunk bed was also awkwardly placed, as it meant you couldn’t help but look at the person staying on the lower bunk while accessing it. I’ve stayed at other hostels where there were private sleeping spaces or at least curtains around the bed, so you could control your own light and avoid disturbing others. Compared to those places, this one was not that easy to stay in. You definitely need to bring a sleep pad and earplugs for a better night’s rest. At check-in, I didn’t notice much, but at check-out the staff were casual and helpful, which I appreciated.

Here’s the story of how a €3 towel fee was the last straw for me. I’ve done the mistake of booking my stay based on past good experiences at this hostel, only to arrive here and find out they’ve swapped hospitality for surprise fees and a strict ‘figure it out yourself’ approach to cleaning. When I booked a private room at JO&JOE Vienna, I expected, at the very least, basic hygiene. Fresh linens, a cleaned room, maybe a towel without having to solve a riddle first. Instead, I learned upon arrival (this being a key detail) that rooms aren't cleaned, linens aren’t changed, and towels? Well, the website promised they were ‘available upon request’ for private rooms. What it didn’t mention was that the request costs you €3! The front desk conversation was about as productive as arguing with an empty chair, and the general manager, who one might assume is responsible for addressing complaints, was conveniently unavailable for the entirety of my stay. Would I recommend staying in one of their private rooms? Absolutely: if you enjoy discovering new and creative ways a hotel can squeeze money out of basic necessities. Otherwise, you're better off elsewhere in Vienna, where hotels respect their guests enough to be upfront about their pricing and hygiene standards. The rooftop is nice, sure. But if your idea of a good time is paying €5+ for a beer served in a plastic cup while wondering whether your sheets have ever been washed or have bedbugs crawling all over, then by all means, book a private room here. If you're a student eyeing their rooftop, do yourself a favor, skip the soulless terrace and go for a real Vienna experience at Travel Shack nearby or Bukowski Pub instead. You'll find reasonably priced drinks and an atmosphere that actually feels alive.

There are bed bugs in my room. I was bitten last night and it was very uncomfortable. I was also bitten by bed bugs when I stayed in September. The hotel should pay more attention to this problem.

This is my second time here and I got bit by bed bugs again. I got bitten twice. I found bed bugs. It was horrible. The hotel should hire an exterminator. I have complained to the front desk and there is nothing they can do.

The room we were put in was very dusty all over the walls and unfortunately had bed bugs, as I have come away with more than 30 bites on my body, including 4 on my face. Also, we didn’t really like that anyone not staying at the hostel was able to access the corridor that takes you to the rooms. I think that there should be a key card access on this door (by the cafeteria), to make guests feel a bit safer. As anyone could come up the elevator and wonder around the hostel.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Pretty standard hostel with friendly employees. Location is great but the area near the train station gets sketchy after dark. Perhaps, not the best option for single travelers. My rate is so low due to the fact I was beaten by bedbugs here. And quite badly. My friend didn’t have the same issue, so I guess the infestation is not in every room. Overall, not recommended.

BED BUGS. My entire body got eaten by bed bugs in an all female dorm. The beds are super uncomfortable and the pillows are even worse. I have never experienced bed bugs before, what an awful experience. The hostel is private and decent, food and drinks are OK at best. If you are looking for a mediocre experience, this is the place for you! if you are looking to get bitten over 2,000 times, this is the place for you!!

Die Location ist sehr cool mit der Dachterasse auch, jedoch muss ich leider sagen, dass die Zimmmer eine Katastrophe sind. Betten sind viel zu hart wie Stein und ich bin mit Bettwanzenstichen nachhause gekommen. Die Betten müssen unbedingt ausgetauscht werden!!! Der Aufenthalt in Wien war dennoch sehr schön

Then, i got a shady email neither confirming nor denying if it was bed bugs (because i doubt they even looked into it) and then asked for confirmation and was ghosted. when i went back and spoke to a receptionist that had no idea about any of this or there even being bed bugs at all which confirmed they just ignored that i had told them at all! be warned!

Bed bugs in my bed. When i called a few days after going back home and discovering spots on my body, the person on the phone couldn’t care less. They did not ask my room number and just informed me that I was the only one to make this complaint. Since then, I have seen reviews on Google Maps which also complained about bed bugs. So I guess I wasn’t the only one affected. A shame because except that I had a great time, but afterwards I am really disappointed with how they handled my complaint.

i didn’t love this hostel, though it was clean and the rooms were fine. i found the environment very hard to socialize in and was happy to be staying with my friend instead of alone. there was a salsa night but ONLY if you knew salsa at a high level so that’s not a hostel activity and shouldn’t be advertised as one. i got bed bug bites here as well. the location is next to the metro station but a bit far from the city center.

absolut bodenlos, hatten Bettwanzen und haben keinerlei Hilfe vom Hotel beim Waschen etc. bekommen :) Ist ja kein Einzelfall wenn man die Rezessionen so liest

Hostel sin vibras, bien organizado que parece un supermercado, no existe mucha armonía en el lugar y a pesar que es muy grande no hay muchos lugares para sentarse o socializar. Limpieza regular, a excepción de bedbugs que encontré en mi cama.

Bettwanzen in jedem Zimmer !!!! Rezeption meinte wir hätten sie mitbracht und sie hätten das Problem noch nie gehabt… so gelogen. Einfach abstoßend, würde am besten 0 Sterne geben

Yo Leute, ich muss euch echt warnen vor dem JO&JOE Hostel in Wien. Das war die schlimmste Klassenfahrt, die ich je erlebt habe, und das ist noch nett ausgedrückt! Also, wir kommen an und was sehen wir? Unser erstes Zimmer ist von BETTWANZEN überfallen worden! Ich schwör's, ich hätte heulen können. Wer will schon mit diesen fiesen Viechern kuscheln, während man schlafen soll? Dann denken wir, okay, vielleicht haben wir einfach Pech gehabt. Wir wechseln ins zweite Zimmer - und was ist da? Kaugummis auf dem Boden, Haare überall, als hätte jemand 'ne wilde Party gefeiert, bevor wir ankamen. Die erste Nacht? Ein Albtraum! Kein Auge zugetan wegen den Bettwanzen und dem ganzen Dreck. Und das Personal? Die haben einfach null Interesse gezeigt, uns zu helfen. War denen wohl alles egal. Ich schwör, ich hab ein Trauma von diesen Bettwanzen! Ich werd nie wieder ein Hostel ohne Angst betreten können, echt jetzt. Das Einzige, was halbwegs okay war, war die Lage, weil das Hotel am West Bahnhof liegt. Aber das macht die ganze Sache auch nicht besser, Mann. Aber hey, es gab zumindest einen Lichtblick: Da wurde zufällig das neue Album von Luciano gedroppt! Wenigstens ein bisschen gute Musik, um das Elend zu ertragen. Und hey, RAF Camora kommt aus Wien - ich bin 'n Fan, also muss ich das zumindest erwähnen, lol. Also, Leute, tut euch selbst 'nen Gefallen und sucht euch 'ne andere Unterkunft in Wien. Das JO&JOE ist echt der reinste Horror!

Mein Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war eine absolute Katastrophe. Es begann damit, dass wir ganze dreimal das Zimmer wechseln mussten, da alle Zimmer voller Flecken waren und überall Pommes und Kaugummis herumlagen. Es war widerlich und absolut unhygienisch. In der ersten Nacht fanden wir direkt Bettwanzen in unseren Betten. Wir wollten nicht mehr dort schlafen, aber leider gab es keine anderen Möbel in den Zimmern, auf denen wir uns hätten hinlegen können. Es war ein Albtraum, der dazu führte, dass wir die gesamte Nacht durchmachen mussten. Am Ende waren wir 35 Stunden am Stück wach, bis wir dann bei Ikea unsere eigenen Decken und Kissen gekauft haben. Der einzige Lichtblick während meines Aufenthalts war das neue Luciano-Album, das zufällig an dem Tag veröffentlicht wurde, als ich dort war. Es war fast wie eine ironische Note inmitten des Chaos. Das und die Tatsache, dass Raf Camora aus der Gegend stammt, waren die einzigen positiven Punkte. Aber ehrlich gesagt, das reicht nicht aus, um diesen Schlamassel zu entschuldigen. Wir haben viel Geld für dieses Hotel bezahlt, und das Einzige, was wir bekommen haben, sind dreckige Zimmer, schlaflose Nächte und eine nicht vorhandene Ausstattung. Ich rate dringend davon ab, in diesem Hotel zu übernachten. Es ist nur eine Verschwendung von Geld und Zeit, und ich kann es nicht weiterempfehlen.

…Leider will ich das nicht sagen. Aber da waren einfach BETTWANZEN!!!!!!!!!. Ich erzähl das mal alles von Anfang an: Wir kommen so zum Zimmer, da waren überall komische Flecken wie Cola, Kaugummis, und komische weiße Flecken. Ja ok die sachen habe ich reinigen müssen. Jedoch ich will danach so schlafen gehen, dann sehe ich einfach eine ausgewachsene Bettwanze. Dadurch habe ich den ganzen Nacht gemacht. Am nächsten Morgen haben wir ein neues Zimmer bekommen. Dieses war aber nicht viel besser. Kaugummies, Flecken. Ein drittes Zimmer ging gerade noch so. Ich wollte den akuten Schlafmangel nicht noch weiter aushalten und musste in dem 3. verdrecktem Zimmer schlafen. Einfach ekelhaft. Trotzdem habe ich in 4 Tagen nur 6 Stunden geschlafen!!!Wenn Bettwanzen oder andere Tiere mich in mein Zuhause verfolgen, weiß ich nicht mehr weiter…. So ein Hostel habe ich nie in meinen Leben gesehen und kann die gute Bewertungen gar nicht verstehen!!Aber nur was ich positives sagen kann, es war trotzdem lustig gewesen, wie wir uns gequält haben!! Und noch eins was ich sagen kann: Besucht nicht das Hostel, dann müsst ihr mit den Tieren kämpfen. Nicht empfehlenswert!!

Das Personal spricht nur teilweise Deutsch. Die Zimmer waren nicht gereinigt, als wir sie betreten haben. Wir mussten die Matratzen und alle anderen Einrichtungsgegenstände (gab ja nicht viele) eigenständig reinigen. Es lag Schokolade, Kaugummi, Pommes, Haare (sehr kurze, wir wollen nicht darüber sprechen, welche Haare) auf den Matratzen. Der Balken, der durch unser Zimmer verlief, war voll mit Staub. Für Stauballergiker katastrophal. Vor unserem Fenster lagen zwei tote Bettwanzen. Man kann nur von Glück sprechen, dass sie nicht in unseren Betten waren. Im Bad war jeder Menge Schimmel an den Fugen, seltsame Flecken auf den Matratzen und allgemein überhaupt nicht gereinigt. Die Teller beim Frühstück waren alles aber nicht sauber. Das finde ich kann man auch bei einem Hostel erwarten. Beim Frühstück sahen Humus und Wurst beispielsweise aus, als lägen sie dort schon eine längere Zeit mit braunen Rändern. Mehr Hygiene wäre wünschenswert. Die Aufmachung der Eingangshalle ist hingegen toll, mit all den Discokugeln etc. Das Hostel kann ich leider nicht weiter empfehlen. Wer gerne in Sauberkeit lebt, sollte hier nicht nächtigen.

An Dreistigkeit nicht mehr zu übertreffen!!! Man kommt an, will hier seine Abschlussfahrt verbringen und dann wird das Erlebnis, welches schöne Erinnerungen mit sich bringen sollte, zerstört durch Bettwanzen!!! Welche vorher telefonisch verneint wurden!!! Gottseidank noch nicht im Bett gewesen und schon 2 Bettwanzen entdeckt. Daraufhin die ganze Nacht durchgemacht in der Lobby, und dann wird man um 5 Uhr weg gebeten, da ja das Frühstück bald los gehe und andere Leute hier dann sitzen werden! Aber ignorieren dabei, dass man ebenfalls das Frühstück gebucht hat & Anspruch darauf hat!! Wenn sie sich lieber darum kümmern würden die Bettwanzen loszuwerden, hätte man es nicht nötig in der Lobby mit seinem Koffer & Co. zu sitzen!!! Mitarbeiter richtig dreist, reagieren nicht ein Mal schockiert auf die Bettwanzen, weil sie dies schon öfters gehört haben! Mit uns waren zeitgleich andere an der Rezeption, wegen der selben Ursache!! Auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen, bleibt lieber fern!!

It's a really strange kind of hostel that makes design choices that are actively hostile to backpackers. Pros: -Generally appeared clean and modern -Convenient location next to westbahnhof and metro station -I met some nice people in my dorm room Cons: -Beds are unmade -Mattresses have a black cover- normally I do a check for bedbugs when checking in, and this was hard to do. The cynic in me feels this was a deliberate choice! -While it had blinds on the bottom bunks, curtains would be quieter and more practical (and less prone to breaking- one in my room was broken) -The shower leaked really badly, and there was no drainage in the shower room so there was just a big pool of water there constantly. It highlighted that the bathrooms aren't cleaned every day. -Towels not included (and expensive to hire) -It's advertised as having a kitchen, but there's no actual cooking facilities for self catering (just a fridge and microwave) -Events were advertised in English, but conducted in German, which was very strange! -Because of the sparse and impersonal common spaces, and the lack of backpacker-targeted events, I met nobody else outside of my dorm room during my stay. I definitely wouldn't recommend for any solo backpackers, but might be functional if you're travelling with a group of friends. Even so, you're likely better off booking a shared hotel room.

Strange place- hostile to backpackers and missing key facilities and services. Events were advertised in English but run in German. I only ever met people in my dorm room because of how sparse the common areas are. The shower leaked terribly and the pool of water started there (showers weren't cleaned?!?). Mattresses have a black cover, which makes bedbug checks impossible. It is located convenient to the westbahnhof station. I don't recommend for solo travelers.

Schreckliche Erfahrung!!! War mit meiner Schulklasse dort. Zwei Schüler konnten nicht mitkommen, da sie krank waren. Normalerweise wären gute Hostels oder Jugendherbergen so kulant und würden die Preise erstatten. Bei Jo&Joe NICHT der Fall! Meine Zimmerkollegen und ich waren in unserem “extrem hygienischen” Zimmer in der angenehmen Gesellschaft von BETTWANZEN. Die Antwort auf unsere erste Meldung lautete: Da können wir nichts machen. Erst bei einer weiteren Anfrage für ein neues Zimmer wurde uns endlich zugehört. Nach zwei Tagen hatten wir dann endlich ein neues Zimmer. Sie gaben uns auch Armeisen-Spray. Armeisen-Spray gegen BETTWANZEN!! Das muss man sich mal vorstellen. Auf Grund dessen haben wir einen großen Teil unsere Programmes verpasst und so auch viel Geld um sonst gezahlt. Noch Vorort baten wir um eine Erstattung, worauf sehr abgewandt reagiert wurde. Nach mehrmaliger versuchter Kontaktaufnahme wurde mit uns gleichermaßen umgegangen. Beim ersten Anruf wurde direkt wieder aufgelegt. Bei den nächsten Malen gar nicht erst abgehoben. Sehr, sehr guter Service!!! Ebenfalls auf die E-Mails wurde nicht geantwortet. Eines will ich noch so nebenbei anmerken und zwar hatten wir in unserer duschen an fast allen Ecken große Ansammlungen von schwarzem Schimmel. Falls Sie es noch nicht wissen, schwarzer Schimmel kann zu Herz Entzündungen und Lungenkrankheiten führen. Fazit: obwohl die Lage des hostels ziemlich vorteilhaft war, rate ich allen ab JO&JOE einen Besuch abzustatten. Falls Sie es trotzdem in Erwägung ziehen, wünsche ich ihnen ganz viel Spaß mit einem Bettwanz-verseuchten Zimmer, da nach bereits gefragt wurde, ich mir sicher bin, dass unser Zimmer nicht gesperrt oder ein Kammerjäger arrangiert wurde. Für mich persönlich hatte das Hostel JO&JOE einen sehr schlechten Einfluss auf meine aller letzte Klassenfahrt mit meinen Freunden. Die letzten Tage waren ungenießbar und ich wollte einfach aus dem Hostel raus. Echt Schade! Die Möglichkeit für so eine Klassenfahrt nach Wien werde ich nie wieder haben. Danke! Für NICHTS!!!!

My stay in hostel was not pleasant due to bed bugs. However staff were very nice and hepfull and hostel itself was ok. I got very big allergy from bites and could not enjoy Vienna as i was planned. I left Vienna with not nice memory…

Schreckliches Hostel, total unhygienisch, dreckiger Betonboden, keine Abstellmöglichkeiten. Wir haben mehrere ausgewachsene Bettwanzen im Zimmer gefunden, wobei uns das Personal zu Beginn nicht einmal glauben wollte und uns nicht einmal ein neues wanzenfreies Zimmer anbieten konnte. Es ist einfach ekelhaft, erschreckend und keinem weiterzuempfehlen.

Bed Bugs. Yikes!!! Disgusting!!!

The Hostel was mostly focused on doing fun events for everyone in the hostel but also to the public. It made it pretty crowded at night which was good for meeting people but I do think that the cleanliness of the place suffered a bit from it. There was a lot of mold in my shower and honestly the bathroom situation sucked because the sinks were not part of the actual bathrooms, instead they were right in the main room, so it was hard to be quiet at night. Also do watch out for bed bugs!!

The staffs were rude except the reception desk. My whole body got red itchy bumps because of bed bugs!!! They hardly clean and dust the room. They just change the sheets, empty the dustbins and leave. The bed bugs came because of the dirty condition.

The bedbug cause me to wash all my clothes at night before moving to a new room. It’s a big hostel but they only have two washing machines and two dryers. If the people doesn’t come to collect the cloths after the cleaning program finished, everyone need to stand in a small warm room to wait for 3 hrs and more. I found the bedbugs on my bed around 9pm and get to finish my less than 10 clothes laundry at 230am. On the other hand, even though the hostel is providing iron for the guest, but you will never have the chance to use it. It cost 10/20 Euro to rent a iron, and everyone rent it and keep it as long as they want until they die maybe. Instead of renting out the iron, maybe the hostel can consider to put at least one iron in the laundry room with a cctv, so everyone can have a chance to use it.

Wir hatten ausgewachsene Bettwanzen in unseren Zimmern, wir haben uns mehrmals beschwert und das Personal war nicht hilfreich. Die allgemeine Sauberkeit in den Bädern etc ließ auch zu wünschen übrig. Die Zimmer mit weniger Betten sind hinsichtlich der Sauberkeit aber besser als die Großraum-Zimmer. Die Lage/ Aussicht ist gut.

There were bed bugs, dust on the walls and on the floor on the side of the bed with old tissues and bottles. I was disappointed with the staff when one night at 2AM, a random man came into our room even though we fully locked the door of our already sleeping room, all the beds were occupied by females so we were shocked when the man came in, visibly drunk. One of the roommate screamed to him to leave and he eventually did after a few minutes. The staff said we "simply didn't lock the door right" and said they would come check but they never came to make sure we were ok even when we called again to have an update on the situation. That was not a fun last night at the hostel. I wish the staff had been a bit more understanding of the situation.

Bed bugs infestation of multiple rooms (as at 13/09). This appears to be an ongoing issue and I would advise against anyone staying here until the whole place is fumigated. The hostel are clearly trying to deal with it but it continues to be an issue . Unfortunately the whole appeal of this hostel is that it is meant to be clean - but bed bugs + average social vibe + pretty sketchy location = would not recommend staying here.

Bed bugs were found in several beds in my dorm, from seeing previous reviews this seems like an ongoing issue at this hostel and not much is being done to get on top of the problem. This meant I spent an entire day of my trip washing and drying my clothes (the hostel did give me as many laundry tokens as I asked for), with only one of two washing machines actually working. My friend did her washing at a nearby laundromat that reception recommended to her and was refused a reimbursement for what she paid, which is unacceptable. If staying here please be aware that this is an ongoing issue at this hostel.

Leider war unser Zimmer schon recht abgewohnt. (Löcher in den Gipskartonverkleidungen, Stockflecken auf den Fliesenfugen) Die Reinigung wirkte nicht überzeugend (Haare und Staub im Hochbett, dort wurde definitiv nicht gereinigt) Hier zeigte sich auch ein weiteres Problem; Bettwanzen in beachtlicher Anzahl und Größe, welche sich offensichtlich in den offenen Ritzen und Fugen der, zwar optisch coolen aber funktional und ausführungstechnisch mangelhaften und offensichtlich nicht gereinigten Bettanlage einnisten konnten. Das Ergebnis waren ein mit Insektenbissen übersäter Körper, eine vorzeitige Abreise in den frühen Morgenstunden und ein paar entschuldigende Sätze vom Hostelmanagement (kein Schadensersatz- oder Nachlassangebot). Gerade in Hostels in denen insbesondere Menschen aus vielen Regionen der Welt nächtigen, ist die Verbreitung von Ungeziefer nicht immer auszuschließen. Daher sind eine funktionale, gut zu reinigende Ausstattung, regelmäßige Reparaturen und eine 1A-Sauberkeit um so wichtiger. Beides war zumindest in unserem Zimmer nicht hinreichend gegeben.

Honestly my stay here was not that great. CONS: my room had bed bugs so I got bitten and had to wash all of my luggage. There were only two washing machines + dryers for the whole hostel so it took a while as people were queuing up to do their laundry. The kitchen is only a microwave and a kettle. Someone stole my bread and cereal I had placed in the cabinet. The mattress was by far the hardest I have ever slept on. I had my room on the fifth floor which was accessible to the public but the lock for the cor

Not a big deal, however the toilet could have been bigger. I find it difficult to move around. I woke up the next morning only to find out that the shower was flooded. Also i found bed bugs in my bed. I informed during checkout. I hope it’s being addressed:)

Was unfortunately placed in a room staff had been made aware had bed bugs, got bitten. Was moved, got laundry tokens, should have been reimbursed. No quiet hours, parties go late into the night.

Great location, super friendly staff, so many activities to meet people like dance classes etc. Worst thing was the bed bugs.. The staff handled it very professionally

Bed bugs! Bed bugs! Bed bugs! Stay: 12-13.04.2023 I am very sorry but I have to share my experience at Joe&Joe hostel in Vienna. The place is wonderful, the bar and the events are superb and the decorations are great. Also the staff is kind and helpful, smiling and welcoming. However, unfortunately, two of the most important things for a hostel are an absolute 0/10, namely the beds and the hygiene. The beds are essentially bunk beds inside plywood cases. Design-wise super cute but omg the dry cough they cause. The wood sucks the humidity in the cubicle and I needed to drink 4 times in the night to keep my throat at a decent moisture. And another thing that plywood does: its a perfect house for bed bugs. The small animals tend to not carry diseases however some people are allergic to them and they spread FAST within the area they are and you can take them home. After reading some similar reviews online I got curious and lifted my bed.. and the result you see it in my video. A fat bed bug was right there, filled with was likely not my blood as I had no bites. However thank GOD I checked because I was able to leave the same day and find a hotel nearby. The staff was thankful that I was not losing my mind and I can understand, you can't control these things. However, my case is not an isolated one at this facility and I highly encourage the management to do the hard thing and shut down the whole place for 2 weeks and do a proper, deep cleaning. I know the bed bugs can always come back but they definitely are not gonna leave the place until they are exterminated. I have traveled a lot, in a lot of hostels, and never I have seen so many bed bugs related bad reviews in one facility only. The staff refunded me 3 nights out of 4 and somewhat apologised. They did not however remove the other guests from the infested room (room of 12 people, fully booked) and I do not know what happened afterwards. They offered me 4 free washing and drying coins and were at all times ready to help. I was able to speak to a manager (Igor, sorry if the name is not correct) and everything was good in the end. I did not bring the bugs at home because I noticed them immediately. But yeah, here's the unfortunate true account of my stay!

The staff were lovely however the hostel has loud, they have karaoke and parties which go until the early hours of the morning on the same floor as accom which means you won’t get the best sleep. On my fourth day I woke up with bedbug bites all over my body, I would not stay here again. Also, kids from town hop in the elevator with guests and gain access to the hostel only floors, during our stay our food and other guests we talked to food was taken from the fridge, probably by these kids who were there all 4 days of my stay.

Bed bugs!!!!!!! I found bed bugs in my bunk in two different beds in two different rooms two nights in a row. While the staff (specifically the night manager) was helpful and kind, you could not pay me money to stay here again.

WARNING: BED BUGS BED BUGS BED BUGS. I don't dreccomend the dorms as the noise from the bar bounces back into the room and can keep you awake into the early hours. Found adult bed bugs and was moved rooms, reception cleaned my clothes only but a few staff members were unaware of cross contamination and at points blamed me for taking the bed bugs to the hostel. Although all care in world coming home and laundering my clothes on return. I NOW HAVE A BEDBUG INFESTATION AND WILL COST ME £££ TO FIX

Chambre infestée de puces de lit! J'ai séjourné dans cet hôtel lors d'un voyage d'études, nous y sommes restés 5 nuits. Malheureusement lors du premier réveil nous nous sommes rendues compte que la chambre était infestée de centaines de punaises de lit. Mon amie piquée à la paupière a eu l'œil gonflé toute la journée. Lorsque nous avons signalé cet incident tout de même plus qu'inconvenant, l'absence de surprise ou de toute réaction du personnel a été choquante. Lorsque nous avons par la suite trouvé des commentaires sur leur site indiquant que des clients ont rencontré le même problème il y a quelques semaines, nous avons compris que le problème était donc bien connu des gérants qui ont feint ne pas être au courant. Nous avons donc été changés de chambre sous condition d'avoir lavé tous nos habits à 60°C... bien entendu beaucoup d'habits ont soit déteint ou soit rétrécit. Malheureusement tout ça n'aura pas suffit puisque nous en avons ramené chez nous. Aucun dédommagement n'aura été proposé, et nous n'aurons même pas eu d'excuses. Catastrophique et honteux.

Ich hatte mit meiner Klasse hier in dem Hostel unsere Abschlussfahrt. Das Hostel sieht sehr schön aus und hat eine mega Lage in Vienna, es hatte alles was man benötigt hat. Leider gab es in unserem 4er Zimmer Bettwanzen, welche wir zunächst nicht als diese identifizieren konnten. Einige von uns haben jetzt schlimme Nesselartige Quaddeln, welche auf Bettwanzenbisse zurück zuführen sind. Also liebes Jo&Joe.. der Aufenthalt war schön, aber im Nachhinein Bettwanzen mit nachhause mitgebracht und nun den Stress an der Backe zu haben ,ist ziemlich doof und nicht angenehm. Wäre toll, wenn mehr auf die Hygiene und Sauberkeit im Hostel geachtet wird ! Und so auch die Gesundheit der Gäste geschützt bleibt.
