Dormitory by Vallettastay

Nichts, absolut schreckliches Hostel. Ich hab noch nie in einem so schlechten Hostel übernachtet und ich war schon in vielen Hostels. Die Belüftung war eine Katastrophe, es gab zwar Ventilatoren, aber trotzdem war es heiß und stickig in den Zimmern, der einzige Ort an dem es für einige Zeit aushaltbar war, war der Balkon. Im Eingangsbereich bzw der Lobby hat es ziemlich gestunken. Auch die Badezimmer waren eine Zumutung, wegen mangelhafter Hygiene, es gab u.a. kein Klopapier und keine Seife. Die Küche haben wir gar nicht verwendet. Aber nun das Schlimmste: Es gab Bettwanzen und Kakerlaken (bzw ähnliche Viecher). Nach der ersten Nacht in diesem Hostel hatte ich erste Bettwanzenbisse. Bis zum zweiten Abend wurden es mehr und sie haben sich mit großer Sicherheit als Bettwanzenbisse bestätigt. Die 2. Nacht hab ich, um vom Bett Abstand zu nehmen, zum Teil auf dem Balkon verbracht, wie geschrieben, der einzige Ort an dem es sich in diesem Hostel aushalten lässt. Mitten in der Nacht, gegen 4 Uhr wurde außerdem eine ca 4cm große Kakerlake im Lobbybereich gesehen, von welcher ich teilweise verfolgt wurde. Vielleicht gibt es doch eine positive Sache, da ich es im Hostel nicht mehr aushielt, habe ich mich entschieden zur St. Elmo Bridge zu gehen um mir den Sonnenaufgang anzusehen, dort hat man den Sonnenaufgang hinter einem Leuchtturm, den Hafen und die Stadt im Blick, wirklich zu empfehlen (im Gegensatz zum Hostel), aber wäre die Unterkunft gut gewesen, wäre ich wohl nicht auf gewesen um mir den Sonnenaufgang anzusehen. Nach dem Sonnenaufgang habe ich dann auf einem Steinblock, mit kleinem Rucksack als Kopfkissen (fand ich definitiv angenehmer als im Hostel, nach den Erfahrungen dort), doch noch einige Minuten Schlaf bekommen, bis ich durch das Brummen eines großen Kreuzfahrtschiffes geweckt wurde ;) Ahja, wir haben übrigens zu dritt für 2 Nächte gebucht, anscheinend darf man da auch nicht erwarten, dass man im gleichen Raum übernachtet, uns wurden zwei Betten im 3.Stock und eines im 2. Stock zugeteilt.

Nothing Terrible experience—it was one of the reasons my trip with my friends went wrong. The place is awful. Two women came by saying there were bugs in the bed, that they’d slept there and been bitten by the bugs, and on top of that, that there was absolutely no security there. I felt scared the entire time I was staying there. I don’t recommend it to anyone—these are experiences I never want to go through again. I arrived at noon, and the staff member treated me poorly, even though I had provided my arrival and departure times during online check-in. There’s no front desk. My password to access the hostel wasn’t working; it had expired the day before. It was total chaos. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone. This hostel should be shut down. Throughout the day, cockroaches were crawling around the place, and there was no regular cleaning of the rooms or common areas. During the 6 days I stayed there, my bed wasn’t made or cleaned even once.

I woke up both nights with bites all over one side of my body consistent with bedbugs. When stated to them, they offered me no help or accommodation and took forever to respond as well as no pre-communication on how to get into the hostel and I had to walk to another place to get my coat to get in. Was standing outside for 20 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend spend the extra money. for a clean safe host.

The location is fantastic, otherwise I have nothing else positive to say. I would never recommend staying here to anyone. My first night the place flooded, which one of the staff members said happens every time it rains... The wifi doesn't work at all, and there is no cell service inside to connect to data. Worst of all, the woman in the bunk across from me had visible bite marks all across her face, which she said she got from sleeping in the bed at this place. When I brought this up with the hostel, they dismissed my concerns, refused to give me a refund because I did not feel comfortable staying there and risking bringing bed bugs back with me, and were overall incredibly unhelpful. Horrible experience!!

The only good thing about this place was the location. There are bed bugs. I repeat, there are bed bugs at this establishment. It's self check-in/out so random people come and go, saw a random person sleeping in the lobby area. People smoking in the rooms. Bathrooms are disgusting. Saw a few cochroaches as well. Fridge had an awful pungent smell. Sinks are plugged up.

The price and location were fine. I've been bitten by bed-bugs. The shower/toilet floor was not clean.

The other hostel residents Smelly toilets, kitchen and bedrooms. Cockroaches. Light on timers. Bed bugs. 3 floors to walk down to the toilet at night.

It is just okay for 1 night. There is no proper ventilation, the fan's wind don't reach the top bunker beds. I think there were bed bugs on bed No.2, but not sure.

Lo único que rescato del hostal es la ubicación, limpieza nula, el baño compartido muy desagradable, las habitaciones llenas de mosquitos y chinches. Definitivamente jamás volvería a este tipo de hostal.

Do not stay here. I cannot give 0 zero stars so I am forced to give them one which they don’t deserve. First of all, the property has NO STAFF WORKING ON SITE!! Which makes things extremely confusing regarding check in, getting towels or recieving help for anything else as there is no one to ask rather you have to call someone which takes an absurd amount of time for them to sort things out (if they even answer). Number 2. This property has bed bugs. Myself and my friends have bites all over us. Avoid this

Terrible place, emailed them before hand because of the terrible reviews - there were bed bugs, mold in the showers, and no appliances and no staff. Avoid this place at all cost - other parts of Malta are just as beautiful. This hostel should be ashamed and put out of business.
