Wake Up Wellness Hostel

I found a bed bug on my blanket that drastically affected my impression of staying at the hostel, besides there was not a single person I could ask help from or inform about leaking shower that was impossible to turn off completely. Besides I had an issue with opening safe locker over my bed and got no reply after writing to hostel support

it was dirty, the bathrooms were full of hair, mildew and there were bedbugs. Also, I paid 230€ for 5 nights, trust me, it’s not worth it.

We stayed in March. The rooms looked clean but I noticed old reviews about bed bugs too late when we were already there. I checked and didn’t find any sings of new infestations but still it was not a pleasant stay and I have been overthinking about bed bugs for month and a half now and became paranoid and insomniac. Now I see new review of bed bugs from May. Wouldn’t recommend this hostel there is no staff and vibes were very spooky.

No lock in the bathroom and toilet! The cleaners check if it's taken, and don't knock, just enter in...if its other hostel guests, I get it, but the workers should know to knock. The cleaning lady came at 10.20 already to clean the sheets even though the check out is at 11. There is no sight of bedbugs in women's 4p room. But something did bit me. Water in the shower got warm after a loooong while. It was warm, but the shower itself...on the verge of disgusting so flipflips are a must. See the photos for yourself. Nothing there except water. Not a tea bag in sight. If you want to spend your time nicely it is not the place. This is just for survival.

Just before goin to sleep I killed a BEDBUG on the wall, so nothing pleasant. Vibe is like in a mortuary, but peaceful if you wanna just rest and sleep. I had a few of guys working in the city and living in the Hostel in my dorms so it's not very traveler oriented I'd say. No stuff is present.

Štěnice (viz foto). Bedbugs (7.12.2025). Na posteli byly min. 3 dospělé štěnice, viz foto. Nepřivezla jsem nic domů, protoze jsem měla všechno v uzaviratelných skříňkách, ale dost me pokousali (viz foto), a i tyden po pobytu mam zarudle stipance na rukou. Ubytování jsem dala hned vědět, dostala jsem 50% z ceny zpět + 20% slevu na další pobyt (po 4 telefonátech), a ubytování mě informovalo, že ke dni 8.12. 2025 začalo štěnice řešit, víc informací nemám. Nefunkční sprcha, opadající omítka Zahraniční hosté dělali hluk, rozsvíceli brzy ráno. V hostelu chybí intrukce, například "Please be quiet after 10pm". Také si hosté nosili jídlo na pokoj.

There is only online reception – they send you online check in form only 24 hour prior to your arrival – so when you travel you will end up filling in it up in front of the locked doors on a sidewalk – thankfully it wasn’t raining. BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF THIS HOSTEL WERE THE BED BUGS – I WOKE UP WITH BED BUG BITES ALL OVER MY FACE – THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! BTW - Pictures on the booking.com definately doesn’t represent the actual state of this hostel.

Unfortunately there was bed bugs in my room, I noticed around 11pm when going to sleep. This can happen anywhere but there was no one available to contact about this as it’s a staff less hostel, so I had to sleep in the bathroom floor that night. The hostel was very understanding and gave me a full refund and did apologise however. Hopefully they’ve sorted out the bed bugs but always check your beds people!

It was infested by bed bugs. Literally dozens of bedbugs happily walking at the beddings. Unfortunately I noticed it too late and so my stuff, clothes and skin were invaded by them. I cancelled my booking immediately and needed to find a new place, they haven't returned me money even after I wrote them multiple times with a photo proofs.

Work up with bites of bed bugs or similar

Владелец хостела типичный жулик- не возвращает деньги за проживание, и отказывается платить компенсацию за причинённый ущерб. It's the worst hostel in the world, in 94 countries and seven years of travel. The bedbug bites itch and cause blisters on your body. The hostel owner is a typical crook – he won't refund your stay or pay compensation for damages. The only people who would want to stay in this hostel are homeless people or narcomaniacs who already live in the train station

There was bedbugs and i could not sleep

We found bedbugs in a bed in my room. The staff, in my opinion, was not professional at all in dealing with it. I don't know how common bedbugs are in Brno (I'm quite sure they are not), but when this kind of inconvenience takes place, they should immediately apologise and give the possibility for a refund (there was no option to change room, they were all already booked). Instead this is what happened. Even if the bedbug were not on my bed in particular, I, like anybody else, would not be 100% comfortable with sleeping in an infested room, with the possibility of the bugs crawling up to my spot; therefore I asked for a refund, in order to change hostel. These guys didn't want to give me a refund unless the bugs were actually in my bed as well, thus demand potential photographic proof. What in the actual f is going on? like bro u good?? I'd like to see their asses in my shoes, sleeping in an infested room, and I'm sure they run up to the staff asking for a refund as well!!! I had to change hotel without a refund (I let this one slip just because they are cheap).

Bedbugs, in amounts that speak to the efforts of the hostel. Can't recommend, had to cut our journey short after spending just a couple of hours in the beds.

Bedbugs ridden, staff can’t be reached after like 22:00. Avoid

The receptionist was helpful with fixing a booking issue. There were bed bugs in my bed. They only refunded our first night. The property is listed as having self-caring facilities. I did not see a stove or a hot plate. There was just a microwave and a mini fridge. I would not stay again because of the bed bug situation.

No reception working , you can get into the building only check in time. Lound noise coz near main road and too close to train station.

HORRIBLE HOSTEL!! DO NOT STAY HERE! this place gave me bed bugs! I have so many bite all over my body that i had to go tp the hospital! When i messaged the owner to tell them what hhappenedthey didnt seem to care and they ghosted me. ververy unprofessional. for how much i paid i expected some sort of compensation when i am given bed bugs and can see literal bugs crawling on my sheets!!

Bed bugs. The past reviews over the past month say there were bed bugs, but the owners are not properly addressing the issue. I am leaving with over 30 bites. And absolutely no staff, so you need a phone number to call them, which I did not have on my data plan. Terrible system.

I've stayed at over 50 different hostles around the world and have never been to one that doesn't have any staff until now. A "contactless hostel" just doesn't make sense, theres no one available to help with check in, questions about the city or deal with room or guest issues. My secure locker was broken and the bedside light but theres nobody to ask for help with issues. The facities are good, showers and bed set ups are nice, comfy and private. However, one new experience for me - bedbugs 🪲

Overall the hostel itself was fine. The power was out for an entire day, plugs and essential things still worked but I had to take showers and use the washroom in the dark. The bed bugs were awful, woke up with numerous bites all over my body. Very disappointed with that.

After staying here for a couple of nights, I now seem to be covered in bedbug bites for the first time in my 5 week trip across 18 destinations… The review system also asks for a rating of the staff. There weren’t any! There’s no reception. There are cleaners but that’s all. The place is very very close to the train station, looks nice on the inside, and has privacy curtains which is always a plus. But the bedbugs are pretty unforgivable.

Bedbugs. I saw previous reviews complaining o f bedbugs assuming that they would be taken care of by now. But no I reported to staff and they ignored me. STAY AWAY!

The hostel is infested by bed bugs, be careful. The reception closed without informing the guests about the service absence. The staff is not always kind.

I found bed bugs in the bed! I left and went to another hostel. For the reaction I got on the phone as I called to inform them, it is not the first time that it happens. I just read some reviews from last year and they already had a problem with bed bugs, which obviously they didn't care to solve.

Avoid at all costs. Bed bugs & locked out at night. Should have trusted the other comments. The bed in the private room had bed bugs, which we realized after a few nights. The receptionist did not seem surprised. After reception hours, you get back into the building with a PIN. However, the PIN did not work. Only after calling twice did we get assistance. The neighboring Hostel's (Schrott) receptionist said that this is a recurring issue. Refunded for unused nights.

BEDBUGS! Visible bed bugs are full of the room. At the first night after I found bugs on the assigned bed I shifted to another bed but still, the bed bugs were every where. I got bitten but luckily not too serious. The staff and manager relocated me to another room that looks safer on the next day. They did really care my experience that made me feel comfortable, but before they finish pest control I highly not recommend this hostel. Also, there are only 2 bathrooms and 1 toilet for each gender for the whole floor. If the hostel is full, that can be a trouble.

Ploštice,blchy - bed bugs, fleas Pozor !!! Tento hostel na fotkach vyzera v pohode, a ma hodnotenie 8,2 fakt neviem preco !! Recepcia mala byt otvorena do 21.00 ale zavrela uz o 17;00 a tak na poslednu chvilu som mal spravu od hostela ze zatvaraju o 5pm a ci pridem o 7pm ? Som povedal ze neviem kedy pridem ze lietadlo meska. Nakoniec mi nechali kluce v boxe. To som mal velke stastie, ked som cital ine recenzie!! Izbu nebolo lahke otvorit s tym cipom, museli ste vystihnúť správny moment ;) Postel nebola velmi pohodlna, zaves nad postelou bola nejaka cervena deka ktorá stále padala bola kratka a nedala sa poriadne dotiahnuť aby ste mali súkromie ! Zachod blizko izby trochu pachne mocom a na zemi pri záchode bolo mokro a vyzeral ako pred dokončením stavby beton vsade Az rano som si vsimol nejake hnedo čierne fľaky na matraci!! Ani vo sne by ma nenapadlo že by to mohli byt plostice a blchy v posteli !! Az dopoludnia na ceste som si vsimol ze som hrozne dostipany po celom tele a nie som prvý v tomto hosteli kde maju problem s bed bugs !! Bohuzial som si to odniesol aj domov, dakujem za krasny suvenír z Brna !!! Uz tyzden bojujem s týmito potvorami a je to boj nekonecny !! Urcite to nahlasim Booking a hygiene !! There were bed bugs. I was left with a plenty of bites on my arms and legs. Huge disappointment, it happened to me for the first time in hostel. Thats extreme minus, so I hope it will be solved in future as you won’t expect getting such problems paying relatively quite a sum for a bed.

Not having a plug comfortable near the bed for those few days was a bit annoying as the one was not working. Bed bugs gave me quite a trouble for the first two nights of staying and I can understand it is difficult to control but I hope they managed to control the situation

This hostel has a bedbug problem. From the reaction of the girl behind the reception i knew this is not new to them. Besides that its not a bad hostel at all. the bathrooms seem clean and everything looks nice. Its not a social hostel but of that’s not what your looking for then its Okay.

The place is in a good location near the center and the staff were friendly. The room we had was okay but had stains and other dirt on the floor. The toilets and showers weren't super clean either and also weren't cleaned at all during our stay. We also saw a bedbug on the wall of the shower and informed the staff right away who, to their credit, were very professional about it.

They have bedbugs and they didnt give me a solution, even they didnt refound me the money.

The hostel is located behind the train and bus stations so the area is a bit shady but nothing very problematic. It is SUPER CLEAN, and very calm and quiet (not the usual hostel atmosphere for meeting new people but calm is good too!) For following up on previous comments : there were NO BEDBUGS in our room, so the problem must have been fixed I guess. The kitchens are more like kitchenettes (microwave+kettle but no stove). Overall we were happy with our stay and the price was good !

Overall clean and nice place near the train station. Howerer I stayed there for one night and got massively bitten by bedbugs. The hostel seemed surprised by this information and started dealing with the issue right away (or at least they said so). They seem to take the matter seriously which is appropriate as it is really uncomfortable.

There might have been bed bugs in this hostel. I found 4 (dead?) of them in my bed and heard a guy telling other travellers about it as well. Because I saw them after inspecting the bed and before placing my stuff down, I decided to sleep somewhere else. The hostel staff was really kind but couldnt help me with anything. I hoped for some time of refund, as you cannot expect your guests to sleep in an infected place/bed with bugs. Staff said she would check with the owners. Heard nothing back.

worst experience ever. the room doesn't have an AC which was ok but that means windows must be left open as its very warm during summer. But outside the window is a parking lot with a dumpster. So we could smell trash and smoke from the cars. Besides that, there was a construction going on right next door and it starts 7am every morning. It was impossible to continue sleeping even though the bed was comfortable. The last night of my stay I found a bed bug (a big red one, a girl in my room told me it was harmless but I don't know). I told them via text at night when I found it. it's been 2 days and they haven't even reply to my messages. Plus, none of the receptionists could answer anything about the city which was fine for me but just keep that in consideration. They were helpful about everything in the hostel so that was nice.
