Tienen chinches, llevo una semana después que estuve allí y no se me quita, soy alérgico y pues es más complejo para mí. Les dije en el check out y me explicaron que eran mosquitos y yo ??????? Está bien ubicado pero ahora no los recomiendo porque es la primera vez que me pasa siendo viajero frecuente y me he quedado en hostales de super mala muerte.

probably one of the worst hostels i’ve stayed in. considering it’s so new, the facilities are gross, the main issue being that the beds are covered in bugs!!! bed bugs or not, no one wants to sleep with tiny insects crawling all over you. multiple people complained about this issue, yet the reception staff were extremely hostile and rude, and charged my friends extra to move rooms. our food was stolen from the kitchen even though it was labelled, there’s barely any sunbeds. overpriced and dirty.

Loved the location in La Punta but it felt run down despite the fact it only opened in May 2024. Private rooms were on the ground floor next to the noisy road and pool area. The shared kitchen was gross and didn't appear to get cleaned. Overall the layout of the hostel didn't lead to much social interaction, and we also discovered our room had bed bugs on our last day. Normally really like Viajero hostels but this one wasn't my favourite.

Viajero Puerto Escondido Hostel is gebouwd rond een pool-and-bar scene in La Punta, dicht bij het strand, de hoofdstraat, cafés, bars en restaurants. De sociale kant is de main draw: activiteiten kunnen gratis ochtendyoga, salsa, karaoke, cold plunges, pub crawls, surfen en dolfijntours omvatten. Het kan landen als chill-maar-niet-saai wanneer de groep klikt, met makkelijke solo-traveler energie rond het zwembad en terras. Het rooftopterras is een van de duidelijkste personality pieces hier. Het heeft oceaanzicht en werkt voor yoga, koken, laptop time of een tragere reset boven de luidere poolzone. Kamers kunnen comfortabel zijn, met goede bedden, privacygordijnen in dorms, nachtelijke airco en dagelijkse schoonmaak in beter draaiende periodes. De setup bevat ook een keuken, coworking-achtige zones, gefilterd water, laundry, een bar en common spaces. Staffenergie is gemengd: Nico, Tania, Denisse, Estefania, Ivana en andere front-desk of volunteer namen vallen positief op, terwijl service ook afgeleid of onvriendelijk kan voelen afhankelijk van de shift.
Signalen om te checken
- Muziek kan overdag en tot laat in de avond hard zijn, dus dit is een zwakke fit voor lichte slapers of quiet-trip mode.
- Airco is meestal beperkt tot nachturen, en de hitte van Puerto kan kamers overdag rough maken.
- Schoonmaak is inconsistent, vooral rond badkamers, keukenzones en soms het zwembad.
- De coworking-setup kan te open, heet, lawaaiig of sociaal zijn voor serieuze calls.
- Wifi, warm water, laundry-afhandeling, facturen en kameronderhoud hebben terugkerende rough patches gehad.
