HI Almada – Pousada de Juventude

I spent three days in this hostel and it was a horrible experience. The rooms are infested with bedbugs, and I could barely sleep at night because I was terrified of getting bitten. The place is dirty and unhealthy: the walls are covered in mold, the paint is so damaged that the cement shows through, and there are blood stains and crushed insects on the walls. It’s a nightmare for any traveler, I strongly advise against staying here.

BED BUGS in our room. We had to sleep in the car. When we notified them the first night, they refused to reimburse the following night. Overall communication on their part is lacking and partly dishonest. I had to go through booking customer service to get at least a partial compensation. Breakfast tables were very sticky.

O quarto que me foi atribuído (número 107) está cheio de percevejos e pulgas. Fiquei com o corpo todo picado. Pelas 4 horas da manhã, fui obrigado a acender a luz do quarto, pois sentia bichos a andar pelo corpo todo. Deparei-me com dezenas de percevejos, como atestam as fotos e vídeos, que remeti para a gestão do alojamento. Dirigi-me ao rececionista da noite, que dormitava. Pedi-lhe ajuda no sentido de mudar de quarto. Gentilmente, cedeu-me o quarto número 204, com 4 beliches, sem casa de banho privada. Tão degradado como o primeiro que me foi atribuído. Paredes sujas, sem qualquer decoração, secretária com sinais claros de degradação, camas sem qualquer qualidade, etc. Não se justifica o dinheiro que é cobrado ao cliente. Face a esta situação apresentei a minha reclamação no Livro de Reclamações e solicitei a devolução do dinheiro que paguei pelo quarto. A Booking não deveria divulgar este tipo de estabelecimentos, sem qualquer qualidade.

Horrible ,porfavor no vengáis ,el peor hotel que he visto en toda mi vida . Las camas están rotas ,depende de 3 bridas mal puestas para que no se caiga , los baños parece que estoy entrando en el paraíso de los germanes, entras a ducharte y sales más sucio, las camas están manchadas de sangre , había un gusano de origen sospechoso en el techo y por si no era suficiente hay CHINCHES en las camas ,en los armarios parece que ha estallado una bomba , conclusión lo único para lo que sirve es para no venir . Lo único bueno son las vistas y que si has venido solo tranquilo que no vas a dormir solo por que te van a Acompañar 60 especies de bichos y enfermedades distinta .Hazte un favor y no vengas . Conclusión el mejor hotel que le puedes recomendar a alguien que te caiga mal.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE— AVOID THIS PLACE! The hostel has severe cleanliness issues and doesn't seem to take responsibility for them. I woke up covered in 53 bed bug bites, yet the manager refused to refund my stay. Instead, he claimed it wasn't their fault because they supposedly treated the room two weeks ago and no one else had complained. But that’s not how bed bugs work—they’re incredibly tough to eliminate, so any complaint should be taken seriously. If you care about sanitation and accountability, find somewhere else to stay!

En arrivant dans la chambre, je me suis assise sur le lit. 2 minutes à peine passées que j'étais encerclée de punaises de lit, qui étaient pour certaines déjà gorgées de sang, quand je les ai écrasées. Nous n'avons pas ouvert nos valises et avons quitté l'établissement après avoir bien sûr prévenu la réceptionniste qui était au courant de l'infestation . Elle nous a d'office proposé d'écrire au responsable de l'établissement pour être remboursées, remboursement que nous attendons toujours.. Nous avions réservé pour 2 nuits et nous sommes retrouvées à devoir chercher à 19h, un 15 août, un endroit pour dormir en urgence. Nous ne pouvons recommander cet établissement.

I stayed here for a week, with the rest of my class for an exchange. We stayed in the -1.0X (X being a number 1-9) rooms. The only positive things I have to say, is that the view from the rooms is amazing, over the river and being able to see the bridge connecting to Lisbon is great, well worth the walk up the hill to get to the hostel. Apart from that, there is not much I can say was good. The rooms themselves, seemed fine, even though we didn’t receive actual blankets (we only got brown-ish ones which were not comfortable to sleep under), it was not much unlike other hostels. The connection from the rooms to the connected balcony was good fun as a class, but I don’t know how well it would’ve worked for individuals/ individual groups. The communal showers (not one big room, but a bathroom with 7 showers seperated by walls and a shower curtain) was simply disgusting, from the week we were there I did not get the impression it was cleaned once. Also the ‘bowl’ that collected the water from the shower did not drain fast enough, so you’d have to hope your water got warm enough before you were swimming in a pool. The same counts for the toilets, most of which the lock didn’t work, the floor was not clean and one was out of order. The staff are fine, the reception staff did speak fine English and the breakfast was alright but a bit limited (a piece of bread which you could put jam, cheese or ham on, you could also choose cereal or chocolate-cereal stuff and there was water, orange juice and milk for drinks) The final ‘surprise’ we got the day we were leaving the hostel and cleaning up, as we were taking off the bedsheets and other laundry so they could be cleaned, we found out that many of our rooms had bed bugs. And I don’t know what health regulations there are in Portugal for hostels but I highly doubt that this hostel conforms to any of them.

Acomodações péssima. 4 camas beliche o colega de quarto fumava. O quarto só fedia, lençóis imundos e sujos, percevejos na cama, armários sem trancas, localizado no meio do nada. A foto da reserva não possuiu nada da realidade.

And when it arrived they refused to accept it :) I was left without my package and with a shipping bill for 35 EUR. To compensate me they put me one night in a room (or a prison cell) where I got severely bitten by bed bugs. I wish I had never visited this awful place!

Bed bugs vardı. Konumu köprüye çok yakın bu yüzden otobüsle lizbon tarafına geçmek kolay. Kahvaltı dahildi. Temizlik personelleri biraz kabaydı.

Mi hija acaba de volver de ese albergue. Viene con más de trescientas picaduras de chinches por todo el cuerpo. Increíble que esto pase hoy en día. Por motivos sanitarios recomiendo que nadie vaya alli

Room 207 was infested by bed bugs - I've never been bitten that massively in my life! Had to take drugs against allergic reaction, 'cause half of my body was swollen and itching... There's no kettle in the kitchen and very limited set of cutlery and crockery.

However and unfortunately the bed bugs destroyed my peace and my stay in the hostel. I woke up at 2am having bits on my body and feeling scribbel on me. With lights turned on I could see the bugs on the bed and on my pijama which was not pleasant at all, especially because i was very tired and looking forward for a long sleep. I left the hostel exhausted and with lack of sleep, as I stayed the whole night in the reception (and still seeing bugs walking on me even after having showered and changed clothes). It affected me a lot also considering that I was meant to stay in a friends appartement after that.. and for having found bugs even after I left... It's still very stressful for me! The worst is, it seems they were informed about the bed bugs before... However, I appreciate the staff and the direction's fast and serious communication and for having reimboursed me. Now I hope they will fix that problem for the next guests in that room (207) and bed (my roomate didn't have bugs in her bed).

A mí y a mi pareja nos picaron chinches por todo el cuerpo y hasta la 3a noche no nos cambiaron la habitación.
