   I booked a single room at this hostel expecting a quiet and restful stay. After checking in, I was extremely tired and fell asleep within an hour. Shortly after, someone opened my room door without warning. It was quite alarming, and although I initially assumed it might have been a mistake, I was left unsettled—especially wondering how another keycard could access my room. Just as I was trying to calm down and fall back asleep, within a few minutes the receptionist entered the room again—this time without knocking or ringing the bell. He directly questioned my presence in the room and asked for my ID. What made this more concerning was that he was the same person who had checked me in and issued the keycard barely 1–1.5 hours earlier. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the intrusion. The interaction felt abrupt and disrespectful, especially as I was woken up from sleep. I found the situation quite humiliating. I was on this trip specifically to relax, and I already have sleep-related challenges. This incident significantly impacted my comfort and sense of safety. Fortunately, I had friends staying in other rooms who helped calm me down. Although they encouraged escalating the issue to management, I chose not to at the time to avoid disrupting the trip further. However, the experience left me uncomfortable staying in the same room, and I decided to leave instead of extending my stay as planned. Mistakes can happen, but basic courtesy—such as knocking before entering and offering a simple apology—goes a long way. Unfortunately, this experience negatively affected my stay and overall trip.

   SCHLECHTESTES HOTEL!!! Sehr geehrte Damen, mein Kollege und ich verbrachten einen herrlichen Abend in Köln. Wir hatten großen Spaß, doch da hatten wir die Rechnung ohne das A und O Hotel gemacht, vielleicht lieber erstmal das ABC lernen. Jedenfalls suchten wir notgedrungen eine Unterkunft, schnell fanden wir dieses Hotel aufgrund des günstigen Faktors. Nichts ahnend, gingen wir also zum besagten Hotel. Dort wurden wir von 2 ich möchte fast sagen Proleten belästigt. Die Situation konnten wir vorerst entschärfen. Im Hotel angekommen, sagte ich meinem guten Freund, dass ich ihm das Geld per Paypal schicken würde. Daraufhin mischte sich einer der beiden kleinen Gestalten von zuvor ein und provozierte permanent. Ich sagte, er solle sich jetzt um seinen Sachen kümmern. Anschließend, wollte es sein Kollege auch noch wissen, daraufhin sagte ich das wir uns gerne zu zweit draußen „unterhalten“ können, kurz bevor ich mit ihm die Tür verließ schubste er mich, daraufhin machte ich von meinem Recht der Selbstverteidigung Gebrauch und nahm ihn in die Mangel. Dann kam sein kleiner süßer Proleten Kollege und schlug mir 3 mal wie eine 9 jährige ins Gesicht. Dann wurde die Polizei verständigt, vom panischen Rezeptionist. Diese kamen dann auch, wir klärten die Situation und wurden dann aber lustigerweise aus dem Hotel verwiesen vom panischen Pagen. Obwohl wir genau wie die beiden, die den Streit angefangen haben und im Gegensatz zu uns auch geschlagen haben. Das wäre ja alles halb so wild, zwar ungerecht aber halb so wild, wenn wir wenigstens unser Geld zurück überwiesen bekommen hätten. Darauf warten wir zwei Wochen. Es wurde angerufen, es wurden mails verschickt, aber das Geld ist nicht da. Eine unfassbare Frechheit!!! Ps geht lieber ins Steigenberger, viel netter und auch wesentlich schöner.

   The night receptionist / manager hhere is an absolute disgrace to the concept of hospitality. I witnessed her verbally harrassing a guest and her behavior was aggressive, hateful, and completely unprofessional. If management has any standards whatsoever, this person should be nowhere near a front desk. She turned what should have been a simple check-in into a public spectacle of verbal abuse.

   Staff were unbelievable rude and inhospitable . I was verbally abused by the night manager . I didn't feel safe staying there so I asked for a refund to which I received a pretty scary response in being screamed and called the police on to remove me . I wasn't threatening , I felt threatened . Can I please have a refund for my stay which wasn't fulfilled . 37465-571255029 is my booking reference .

They simply contacted the Berlin headquarters and said, "There's no problem!" **Zero Security:** There is uncontrolled access to and from the rooms; not even the suitcases are safe! **I only stayed 1 night of my 6-night reservation and had to leave and stay at another hotel.** They didn't even respond to my request for a refund!** **I CAN NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!** If you expect your belongings to be safe, treated with respect, or handled professionally, **absolutely stay away!** I have never experienced a business so indifferent and irresponsible to tourists! **I will also pursue my complaints through legal means.** And Agoda, where I made my reservation, did nothing more than say they were sorry and would contact the hotel to investigate.    We were robbed when we booked a completely private room. No cleaning service requested. Which means that someone made an unauthorised entry into our room for the sole purpose of robbing us. We reported it very calmly and the response from the staff was kind and considerate, but we were told to leave our details and wait for a response from the manager, who would be back in a few days. We were never contacted. We sent them an email and they never got back to us. All this makes us think now that they never bothered to investigate or that they are simply covering up this crime. I don't know which is worse. We will never come back, and I urge everyone reading this message not to do so either.

    There are two girls, one with glasses and other blonde who are very friendly and provide excellent service. Unfortunately, some of the other staff are the opposite. I have a back problem, and while stretching my back with yoga exercises at reception, a staff member started yelling at me in German. I told him I didn’t speak the language, but he aggressively checked my reservation, took my hostel card, and forced me to leave. If he misjudged my actions, it could even be xenophobia. I never go back

    When we arrive the cleaning team were super rude and told us that the bathroom was “kaput” even telling him that we didn’t knew German. We went to the reception and after a lot of time they switched our room. During the night some strange man entered in the room (it was a private one). They solved the problem, but a lot of bad things happened.

    Way overpriced and anything is going to cost you as much as they can charge: 4,8€ for a small bottle of Heineken is criminal. All the pans in the kitchen are completely destroyed and the nonstick coating will flake off into your food. My duvet had a fresh blood stain on it, and there was a large spilled yogurt on the hall carpet that was never cleaned and just let to dry. Room had been previously broken into and they put a thin piece of metal to “fix” where someone broke the door to get in.

    worst experience of my life , Quiet hours were 10-6am but throughout that time on the first night people were making so much noise , room way too warm . Someone came in at 4am and directly flashed their phone light in my eyes then stared at me from their bunk .went down to reception to tell them but no help. Sat in reception until 6am , then could not sleep due to banging of metal and people singing . Asked to be moved said no. Got assaulted on 2nd night and had to leave early. Refund please

    Gruseligste Hostel Erfahrung meines Lebens! Mit dem staubigen, dunklen, spärlich und lieblos eingerichteten, überteuerten Hostelzimmer, das wir uns mit ein paar Silberfischen teilten, hätten wir uns zunächst zufrieden gegeben. Jedoch wurde unser Schlaf wiederholt, zunächst von extrem lauten Partylustigen und dann in der zweiten Nacht von mehrmaligem aggressiven Pochen an unsere Zimmertür gestört. Letzteres versetzte uns tatsächlich in leichte Panik, da es um 3 Uhr nachts so laut gegen unsere Tür hämmerte, dass wir Angst hatten uns könnte etwas widerfahren. Nachdem wir uns dann einige Rezensionen auf Google Maps durchgelesen hatten und auch Spuren des versuchten Einbruchs an der Zimmertür entdeckt hatten, fühlten wir uns so unsicher, dass wir abreisen mussten. Auf unseren Wunsch, einen Teil unserer Kosten erstatten zu lassen, wurde nicht eingegangen. Alles in Allem nicht zu empfehlen.

    Nice place, but the guests seemed to not be the most social! Like the others said the rooms are almost unbearably hot, the second i walked in i had started sweating! And also someone was in my bed because his bed had also been taken! The one above was free as that was his original one so i grabbed that. Staff were great but definitely busy/understaffed so its a wait sometimes if you need help. Hostelworld chat is key for this hostel as its a lot of businessmen not so much travelers.

    Not your typical hostel, more like hotel. Me and my friend both got some of our stuff and food stolen and staff didn’t seem to care and didn’t help at all. Bathroom smelled nasty and the drain in shower didn’t really work. Hard to make friends as well so definitely wouldn’t come back here again.

    Wir (zwei Mädels, gerade 18 geworden), waren auf Klassenfahrt vom 24.06 -26.06 in diesem Hostel. In der ersten Nacht kam um 2Uhr nachts eine fremde Frau ,um die 40, in UNSER Zimmer, diese hatte eine Zimmerkarte von der Rezeption bekommen, für UNSER Zimmer! Sie benutze unsere private Gegenstände und duschte mitten in der Nacht! Als wir sie ansprachen konnte sie kaum Englisch und wollte mich aus meinem Bett schicken. Wir versuchten das Problem mit ihr zu lösen, sie hatte das Problem jedoch nicht verstanden und wollte im Zimmer bleiben. Wir sind um 2Uhr nachts zur Rezeption gelaufen, wo viele betrunkenen Menschen waren, die uns dumm angemacht haben. WIR mussten dann um 2:30h in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. War eine sehr traumatische Erfahrung, hätte wirklich jeder sein können. Hostel hat uns in Gefahr gebracht; zum Glück ist es noch so harmlos ausgegangen! Solche Fehler dürfen nicht passieren, dies ist äußerst unprofessional. Eine Kompensation gab es auch nicht. Hostel auf gar keinen Fall zu empfehlen!!!

    The atmosphere of the hostel is decent, there is a lot of drugs and alcohol, the games room is very poorly maintained, the pool table is cracked and with bad sticks and the foosball table without some pieces, the vending machine swallows the money without giving the item, At mealtime there is a complication in mobility apart from the fact that we had to eat with 2 knives, without leaving aside the guard, an aggressive bald man who yelled at me, invaded my room and kicked the door repeatedly (3+ ) there are shapes and forms, terrible experience.

    Woke up to someone not even from my room going through my bag. When my alarm went off at 5:45 he got up and left immediately. I checked my bag and found 2 pockets opened with all my stuff gone from them. I decide to check under the pillow where the man was sitting and find all my stuff. Luckily nothing missing but do whatever you can to stay away from this hostel
