1900 Backpackers Hostel

Here is my honest review for my stay at the end of May 2026. The staff and volunteers were very friendly and breakfast was good! :) The showers are warm after you wait for 5 minutes. The area was not the best and I didn’t feel safe at night alone outside the hostel as a woman. I had bedbugs bites after the first night at an 8-bed dorm. I told the receptionist and they did everything to deep clean the room, transferred me to another room and washed my things for free. Also I got a refund.

30 min drive from bus terminal but a cute spot! breakfast was just bread and fruit but there’s free bread in the kitchen 24/7! the big dorm only had 2 outlets for the whole room & i didn’t see any bedbugs (i always check). there were cats, hot showers, and lots of nice ppl. location is right next to payed museum, a couple blocks away from some fun clubs & 30 min walk from historic district. a free walking tour meets at the hostel @10am (thank you Christian!)

Supongo que por el precio que pagué no me puedo quejar por el decepcionante desayuno que dan. Pero hay otras áreas de oportunidad a considerar. La habitación que me tocó (la uno), sospecho que es la peor porque la ventilación es mala, tiene un olor extraño y da justamente a la calle que es excesivamente ruidosa. Si quieren descansar, este no es el sitio adecuado. La cama que me dieron era vieja y la ropa de cama tenía manchas. La almohada olía mal. Repito, por el precio quizá no tenga caso quejarse, pero sí son aspectos que, hasta por limpieza y prevención de chinches, deberían de considerar.

The location is pretty good. The dorms are not locked so that lowers the safety. Not all the beds have lights and the outlets. Not many events were going on and there’s not many opportunities to socialise. Also, some of the showers are not working. There was also a bug in the bed.

南京虫が居ました。夜に南京虫が出たのでベットを移動したいと伝えても、ベットは空いていないの一点張り。夜なので他の宿に移動も出来ないので何度もお願いし、匂いのキツいMIXドミへ。ベット空いてるじゃん。と思いつつなんとか夜を凌ぎました。2度も行きません。Bed bugs。

Honest review-stay here only if you need a cheap bed and don’t care about anything else. I had many bug bites in my sleep and im not sure if they are from bed bugs or mosquitoes. The kitchen is disgusting and is never cleaned. Someone boiled potatoes in the kettle and it was not cleaned for the next two days. There were only 2 forks and 1 spoon available. Additionally, they give you a free welcome drink coupon when you arrive for one pilsen beer, but the bar was out of this specific beer and we never receiv

bed bugs.

Staff was super nice and helpful when I first arrived, met some cool people there on the rooftop too. I only stayed for two nights and on the second night I brought up the concern of bed bugs and they did look at the bed but tried dismissing it on mosquito bites, which I know the difference of and that wasn’t it. They gave me bug spray to sleep with and I still woke up with two more bites. Stayed in the female dorm March 17, so just be careful to anyone who stays in that dorm.
