Although the hostel has an ingenious concept to save costs by mattresses that have waterproof covers (fortunately it wasn't too hot) of beds that can be made and unmade by the guests, so very few personell for such a big hostel, the price of €30 for an 8 bedded room in the weekend, was including a breakfast that had apples or old oranges being the only fresh food. No cucumber, onion, tomatoes or salad.

I woke up at around 2am due to itching and found bed bugs on my arms and also on my pillow. It was horrible and I have loads of itchy spots. This was not acceptable to have bed bugs and it ruined my trip to Belgium. Needless to say, I did not have a good night sleep on my one night, and resorted to sleeping on the floor due to the bugs. This was my first ever experience with actually seeing bed bugs and while there were not loads, they certainly left their mark. It is a hostel definitely on the more expensive end of hostels that I have stayed and even with breakfast, my experience was absolutely not worth it. To make it worse, there were no staff working at all the following morning as they were not to begin until 2.30pm, meaning I was unable to inform anyone. Bed bugs in one bed may indicate they are in others too. It's not worth the breakfast, I don't recommend it

Vibe-Analyse
Charleroi Youth Hostel funktioniert am besten als praktischer Stopover neben Charleroi-Central, Busverbindungen und Airport-Connections. Das Gebaeude ist modern, hell und zentral, mit einem Setup, das fuer eine Nacht vor oder nach der Reise nuetzlich sein kann. Die Gemeinschaftsetage ist der lebendigste Teil: Es gibt einen barartigen Bereich mit Sofas, Musik, Pool, Tischfussball und Tischtennis. Das kann ein brauchbarer Ort sein, um andere zu treffen, besonders wenn die Entertainment-Zone aktiv ist. Die Zimmer sind deutlich basicer als die oeffentlichen Bereiche. Erwarte Etagenbetten, DIY-Bettwaesche, begrenzte Waerme im Dekor und ein Hostelgefuehl, das naeher an funktionaler Unterkunft liegt als an cozy Hangout. Fruehstueck kann praktisch sein, aber es ist einfach und das Timing zaehlt bei fruehen Flughafenabfahrten.

- Laerm kann ein echtes Thema sein, von Strasse, Terrasse, Barbereich, Tueren und Gemeinschaftszimmern.
- Die Umgebung kann sich nachts rau oder unangenehm anfuehlen, und Parken ist kein starker Punkt.
- Betten koennen Matratzen oder Kissen mit Plastikgefuehl haben, und Handtuecher oder Toilettenartikel koennen extra kosten oder fehlen.
- Manche Dorm-Betten haben eventuell keine Schliessfaecher, Ablagen, Steckdosen, Lampen oder genug persoenlichen Platz.
- Das Fruehstueck ist basic und funktioniert fuer sehr fruehe Abreisen eventuell nicht gut.
