There were bed bugs in every room. Mice eat the food you leave near your bed. Loud snoring and flashlights on all night. Our bowls for eating were being used as water bowls for the dogs. The tables and floors are always sticky. The rooms are crammed with as many beds as possible and the wifi does not work in them. People constantly using or selling drugs in the rooms. No hand towels or soap in the toilets. My food was thrown in the bin, even with my name labeled on it and some of my clothing items were stolen (including underwear). The owners are fully aware of all these issues but refuse to do anything about it.

I have seen quite rough places but this was one of a kind. There were bedbugs running on beds, room smelled awful, everything was a bit moldy. My bed sheets had blood and sweat stains. Place was full of sketchy people running and shouting. Rooms are tiny and the beds are barely holding together. Toilets are also in rough condition Location ok and staff is friendly. Still would not recommed to book this hostel if you are not looking for an adventure. We had to leave middle of the night and book a different place. I can’t understand how someone would give this place more than one star.

Got bed bugs, there was a fight outside the window from the bar in the hostel that went well into the night, police outside. Noisy. Bathrooms were all flooded. Sinks overflowed to the floor. Bathrooms had nowhere to put your things and floors were flooded. 'secure' luggage storage was wide open and floor was covered in mouse poop.

Bedbugs, and the refusal to refund any portion of stay cut short due to bed bugs.

This place is not fit for human habitation, insects and pests everywhere, falling apart, carpet torn up and walls crumbling. BED BUGS, multiple clearly visible on arrival. They refused a refund. Honestly do not stay here! The pictures on booking.com are not at all representative of the state of the property.

Bed bugs. Got absolutely ravaged. No AC, window doesn’t stay open, no lock on door, anyone could come in. One bathroom for whole hostel.

I had a large group booking (x18 beds have been booked, booking out x3 dorm rooms) and we had issues with the hygiene and safety of the hostel environment. The following was found: - No fire doors (doors don't reach the floor) which is a SERIOUS breach in health and safety. - Bed bugs in the mattresses, and dirt found in the rooms, under the bed etc. Very dusty and dirty. - Vermin droppings and dirt under the beds (vermin can get under the doors). - Mould on and inside the mattresses. - Skylight in Room 3 is leaking onto a bed. Their solution is a bucket. - Uncooperative and rude staff who refuse to give a contact number or email address for concerns to be raised. - Both numbers for them don't connect (0207 7311913 and 07907 587578). Staff 'reassured' daily that rooms would be deep cleaned and they weren't. My staff ended up checking out on day three (of the eight day stay) and we're now following the complaints process to get a refund. DO NOT STAY WITH THIS HOSTEL! Booking.com haven't helped us with this and they don't have a process to remove or blacklist this company as they say they are 'only the booking platform'. DO NOT BOOK.

I would not stay here again solely based on the cleanliness of the bathrooms. there are no designated female-only showers so you're sharing two showers with the whole second floor. my room allegedly had a bedbug problem in which the staff member told me "yeah we know this room has bedbugs but we would have to vacate the entire room to treat it" ???? do that then??? you will get what you pay for. pay more and go elsewhere.

I'm very used to hostels and them being a little unhygienic but I think this one went a little too far. The place was covered in bed bugs. When I got there someone had tried to overstay their reservation so there wasn't a bed for me until she was removed. I don't think the sheets were properly cleaned in this time. It wasn't until I checked the Google reviews after staying that I realised the bed bugs issue is not new.

No hot water and bed bugs

It was extremely dirty… rooms not cleaned at all… bedding smelt like bo… was in room 12 …room near smoking area n bins .no lock on room door.. so anyone could go in … bed bugs gs in room 12 and 11… noise where people smoke… staff checking people in with torch lights in middle of the night drunk n speaking quite loudly… other than Helen staff extremely unfriendly… African cleaner really rude… made soooo much noise in kitchen after 10pm.. she was also cooking pasta .. rice n meat in the microwave n left it sooo dirty ??? Was in a room with a lot of long stay homeless men … who snored or stayed up all night with lights on … also very very smelly… bed bugs were reported… nothing was done … tv I. Lounges not working even though there were matches on

The beds I'm pretty sure had bed bugs, and there weren't curtains for privacy on the bunks. Got quite lost- the signage to room 12 is non existent.

Everything in that place is ɓad nnoot for human and they don't care everyone just managing just to sleep is cheap

- Rooms are very cramped. - Top bunk doesn't have a power point to use for charging. - I have a reduced sense of smell and the room had a strong smell. - Bed bugs. - Bathrooms didn't have any soap. - Both the bar and the hostel bathrooms didn't have toilet paper my first day.

Having stayed before, I knew about the bed bugs so I checked my bed and thought I was ok. Nope. Even though I slept.on my coat and stayes covered, they went to town on my hands and neck. A friendly person told me this was a go-to hostel for prison releases which explains why there are some concerning people that hang around. They said I made a poor choice and were definitely warning me to stay away with the horror stories and fights they were telling me about. Also, the lock on my door didn't work.

Bed bugs - if you leave any skin exposed, it will be covered in bites when you wake up. The beds were unmade and most likely don't get cleaned, which isn't surprising when the bed system is a bit of a free-for-all.

Bedbuggs!! And the room looks nothing like the pics. Horible place. We had at least 2 guys over 50 in our room, when it says it’s a max 40 to live there. We where supossed to be there 2 nights, but we checked out after only 14 hours. Jesus christ avoid this place!

Bedbugs....This place was littered with it. Underneath the bunk beds, you could see that it was hardly hoovered.

0 stars. No sleep because of bed bugs. 6 of us were scratching with huge marks the day after. My partner and I did not sleep the whole night because of those bed bugs and we were still itching in the morning. No one is doing anything about it. It's honestly just meh. The first room I was put in had bed bugs so they moved to another room upstairs and the second one was sooooo small could barely pass another person. Not very clean, moldy, small fridge for food storage, no laundry. I wouldn't stay there again but it did the job.

Angus is also the owner of the bell and Phoenix hostel. The hostel is quiet disgusting with a rodent and bed bug infestation. The owner withholds salaries of the employees and pays them below minimum wage. The owner also tries to fight the patrons or employees knowing full well if they fight back he'll just evict them for no reason. El albergue es barato y su precio va acorde a lo viejo, dejado y sucio que es. Reservé solo una noche, y a los 3 días me he despertado con picaduras de chinches en los brazos. Los baños tenían las paredes llenas de humedad, pero las duchas funcionaban bien y estaban decentes. Aun así, el personal fue agradable y me permitió dejar mi mochila hasta que hice el check-in. Cosa que agradezco bastante. Sinceramente, no sé si lo volvería a reservar.

Bedbugs everywhere. Rooms are tiny , windows are broken, now oxygen. I left next day. The manager is a lier, promised me refund but then just ignored all my massages. Stay away from this place guys

não pode chamar de hostel, tem percevejos, não tem cozinha, não tem empatia com os hóspedes, lugar desumanos, não tem armários para guarda suas bagagens , tem apenas um microondas e uma máquina de esquentar água, que você divide o espaço com clientes do bar, se procura lugar barato e não liga para conforto e vai comer na rua esse e o lugar, se liga então nunca fique nesse lugar. não vale apena pagar nem um centavo, simples horrível , eu só fiquei porque não ia perder o meu dinheiro, e o pior

The Wifi is very bad, if you need some wifi to work while staying there, don't go. Internet is super slow and everyday it spots working for some time. There was just one toilet avaible for the whole hostel, others were all out of order. Sometimes, it would run out of toilet paper. I got bitten by bedbugs. The accomodation is tinny, badly fit all the guests luggage. The pillow is like a paper, I folded it twice and it still felt like there was nothing under my head. My travel pillow was much more comfortable and that's what I used to sleep while I was there. I wouldn't come back there.

It’s infested with bed bugs, be careful.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Place should be shut down. Run down, dirty, grubby. I left COVERED in bed bug bites. One night I came down to complain and they told me I could switch rooms - I went to said room and the door wouldn't lock so no use.

There were bed bugs in every room- in that single night I've changed 3 rooms , and the excuse was that people are bringing the bugs in the building.. staff although friendly, were aware about the bugs...money lost... night lost...

I don't like it a lot. It seemed okay at first despite the fact that the room wasn't that clean and absolutely stunk. The showers weren't that clean, and I got absolutely bitten to death by bed bugs.
