   The real Auschwitz experience in center of Krakow! Be aware never book this property! Dirty kitchen. Shitty toilets. Bad vibe. Not a hostel (as you may expect). This place is inhabited by people who work in Bolt or who escaped Ukrainian army or refugees (no offense to anyone just informing what the reality is). I have booked for five nights without reading reviews (was in a rush), when I read, I wanted to cancel it, they immediately refused! Then I confirmed that what was mentioned in reviews was TRUE. I slept one night, unimaginable bad smell, drunk people, dirty (shitty) toilets, and kitchen in which drunk man are having their business (drinking). I booked other hostel for two nights. When I came back for New Year Eve (for which I had paid 50 euros), they had already rented my bed out! The lady told me that it was because I did not go one night! Imagine you pay for five nights and they rent your bed to someone else. But ok, she agreed to give me another bed but guess what! My clothes on my bed were stolen! Guys! I am from balcan, I can endure not good places, but this place was a scum and filth of all what I have seen since 9 years of travels and in hostels. Never book here! Please!

   Éramos un grupo de 5 personas y reservamos 3 noches en una habitación mixta compartida. Lo que no sabíamos es que iba a estar llena de borrachos, y no exagero. No pude dormir ninguna de las noches que pasé allí: ronquidos, hombres entrando de madrugada a la habitación sin ningún respeto... Alguno de ellos llegó a gritarnos y realmente pasamos miedo, tanto, que la última noche decidimos irnos de allí y dormir en otra parte. La dueña del hostel es consciente de ello y no hace nada. NO VAYÁIS!!

   als vrouw alleen niet prettig; ik ben niet snel bang voor enge dingen of viezigheid, maar het is hier echt niet schoon en veel mannen die waarschijnlijk dakloos zijn. het is fijn dat zij ergens kunnen overnachten en dakloosheid moet absoluut bestreden worden, maar de meeste andere mensen hier en de meeste ruimtes stinken echt. ik ben studentenhuizen met tot twintig huisgenoten gewend, maar ik zou hier niet durven koken. vannacht slaap ik hier nog, morgen boek ik een ander hostel. de service is erg vriendelijk, het feit dat de eigenaresse en haar kinderen hier ook wonen is de reden dat ik het vertrouw om hier vannacht te slapen. EDIT: om 3 uur snachts werd ik wakker van ijselijk gekrijs van een vrouw en servies dat kapotviel, waarschijnlijk in de keuken van het hostel, toen heb ik mijn spullen gepakt en ben ik vertrokken. op straat snachts is het waarschijnlijk veiliger voor vrouwen dan in dit hostel. voor mannen die niet veel willen besteden en met een slecht reukvermogen waarschijnlijk wel oké response to hostel owner's reply: thank you for your reply. i'd like to inform you that i have not said any discriminatory things about any of the guest's age, nationality, ethnicity, religion, etc. i would also say again that i do activism in my hometown against homelessness, and losing their home i think it is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being. i do not think, apart from the fact that no one greeted me back or even acknowledged my presence in the communal area (kitchen, shower area, sitting tables) when i said hi as i entered the room, that the other guests are antisocial people. for me it is normal though in hostels to greet people back in communal areas, usually they are meant for socializing, or at least saying hello back. however, the conditions of homelessness give people's clothing a smell, especially when they get wet from rain etc. clothing from homeless people smells like a human being in crisis, personally i find that smell unpleasant. it is in every room in the hostel. i could not sleep well from it. lastly, i would appreciate if you could acknowledge not every woman feels safe if there are only men around, and they ignore you when you greet them. i suggest installing a "women's only" room. i say this not because i hate meb but because i have many times been harassed and/or raped by men. please respect this. this happens to many, many women. you could say this is gender discrimination, but unfortunately rape by men is the harsh reality for many women in europe and beyond. thank you for your understanding. i hope you will consider safety of women in the future.

   WARNING! Book at your own risk. This is an unsafe place to stay. Uncaring staff, no security, lots of sketchy males. Read the comments below several women have been assaulted here. I myself was profiled and verbally abused by management when I brought up their wrongdoings. On top of this, the place has zero amenities, bad vibes, non-working wifi, dirty bathrooms/kitchen, uncomfortable beds. Worse possible stay ever.

   If you are a solo female traveller I am begging you please don't stay here. You can find better for the same price. This place is terrifying. There are clearly permanent live-in tenants, it feels like more of a shelter than a hostel. I did not feel safe here in any sense of the word: the lack of proper security (locks on doors to dormitory etc.) and above all the strange, plain creepy male residents roaming the halls and common room. I couldn't bring myself to spend one evening in this horror house, and had to find last-minute accomodation elsewhere. Read any of the other reviews by women here, they can tell you far worse. Look at how the owner responds to these very fair reviews, they clearly do not care for the safety and wellbeing of their clients and obviously do not intend on changing any aspect of this terrifying establishment. Save yourself. Do not stay here.

   I didn’t directly stay at this hostel, but my girlfriend did. To say she experienced a terrifying and traumatic incident as she was cornered in the bathroom and sexually assaulted is an understatement. This review is more of a response to the Sky Hostel’s owner response to my girlfriend’s review (please go read it). I must say the owner is a disgrace. The way she handled the situation has been unacceptable, having no regard for the safety of her female guests staying at this shit hole. First off, to just disregard the reports and complaints of this situation, calling them fabricated because there is no CCTV evidence is absurd. Of course there was no video surveillance of it happening because it happened in a BATHROOM and honestly if there was video surveillance we would have a bigger issue on our hands lol. Then going on to say they were dressing and behaving provocatively on purpose and offering inappropriate actions is entirely fabricated and a manipulative attempt to put blame on your female guests for an extremely unsafe environment you have created. Last time I checked wearing an oversized shirt and pajama pants, then changing into a sweater and jeans isn’t provocative in the slightest. It is extremely embarrassing for an Owner to stoop to this level to defend their business and even suggest that it is okay for a man to sexually assault a female if she is dressing provocatively. Your lack of morals and empathy towards this serious situation is disgusting. You fit right in with the other scum bags and low-life’s that stay at your hostel and that you cover for, spinning lies and shifting blame. Lastly, the refund is not important and attempting to put a motive for this incident as trying to get a free stay at this dump is hilarious lol I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone to have to stay here, even if it was for free. Plus, through your actions and responses it seems as if you desperately need that $33 significantly more than she does. I hope you put that money to good use, your dorm room doors and bathrooms could use a few locks :) This hostels reputation is already incredibly damaged, just scroll through the other reviews on google highlighting the hostility and creepiness this hostel creates for female travelers. The owner is a joke. Take all their responses as a manipulative attempt to suppress their guests and conceal the unacceptable actions that continuously happen within this hostel. I cannot stress this enough: this hostel is UNSAFE for women, especially those traveling alone. If you value your safety, AVOID THIS HOSTEL AT ALL COSTS!

    Le seul point positif de ce séjour fut la localisation, en face du théâtre de Cracovie et le prix. Je pense que les points négatifs seraient bien trop longs, en passant par une odeur IMMONDE imprégner dans les murs de cette auberge dès votre entrée dans l'établissement : la nonchalance du personnel, les gens très louche qui y réside de manière permanente (garçon uniquement bien évidement), hygiène absente dans la salle de bain, la cuisine, les chambres, je pense qu'uniquement les draps des chambres sont changés. Le chauffage éteint dans toute l'auberge avec des températures négatives dehors, 3-4 minutes d'eau chaude max pour se doucher, que deux douches pour TOUTE l'auberge et MIXTE, juste à côté des toilettes, odeurs infâmes, avec des sous-vêtements pendu partout dans la salle de bain. Et pour couronner le tout, certaines personnes dans la chambre en profitent pour se faire du bien devant 10 personnes en pleine nuit sans absolument AUCUNE discrétion, ce fut la goutte de trop. En bref, ce fut une très mauvaise expérience, traumatisante, je pense que Booking devrait SUPPRIMER cet établissement de son site internet, car la sécurité n'est absolument pas assurée pour les femmes. J'ai lu sur un des avis qu'une femme s'était fait agresser sexuellement dans cette auberge et qu'elle n'a reçu aucune aide, et je ne suis pas étonné. FUYEZ, fille comme garçon, sinon vous risquez de ne pas apprécier votre séjour à Cracovie, ce qui fut notre cas. Faites confiance et ne venez PAS dans cette auberge.

    *EDITED TO RESPOND* If I could give this 0 stars I would!! If you’re a solo female traveler, stay far away from this hostel. While the location is good and the rooms appear decent for the price, this is not a safe place to stay. DO NOT LET IT FOOL YOU. During my brief time here, I experienced a terrifying and traumatic incident involving harassment and sexual assault. A group of men who were not staying in my dorm followed me, harassed me, and one even assaulted me in the bathroom, groping me despite my screams for help. To make matters worse, there were no locks on the bedroom doors, leaving me completely vulnerable. The staff provided absolutely no support. When I tried to report the incident, no one was available to help. After calling the police for assistance, the owner showed a complete lack of empathy and refused to offer any sort of resolution, including a refund. Instead, they blamed me and dismissed my concerns entirely, claiming there was no “evidence” of what happened. I cannot stress this enough: this hostel is unsafe for women, especially those traveling alone. Do not risk your safety by staying here. If you value your safety, avoid this hostel at all costs. I included pictures of the email response they sent me as well as my response back to them and a review they replied to during my stay. *EDITED PART: It is disappointing, but not surprising, to see such a blatantly defensive and accusatory response that seeks to discredit me rather than address the serious concerns I raised. Since the management has chosen to misrepresent the situation and personally attack me, I feel it is necessary to respond and provide clarity: Police Involvement: I did not call the police. Two men staying in my room witnessed the situation, found it serious enough to warrant police intervention, and made the call themselves. They were concerned for the safety of other guests in the hostel. Access Control: The issue is not with your key code system to enter the hostel but rather with the men who were guests at your hostel. These men were staying in the hostel (though not in my direct room) and had unrestricted access to shared spaces. My dorm room, however, had no lock to keep these men away from me, leaving me completely vulnerable. CCTV Footage: This incident occurred in the bathroom, where, as expected, there are no cameras. Therefore, your claim that CCTV footage disproves my account is irrelevant and misleading. Victim-Blaming and Attire: Your comments about my attire and behavior are offensive and utterly false. When I first entered the hostel, I was wearing jeans and a sweater. These men immediately bombarded me with questions and followed me into the bathroom. I did not speak to them, look in their direction, or engage in any way because I wanted to avoid interaction. At the time of the incident, I had just changed into my pajamas and was on my way to sleep. Suggesting that my clothing or actions somehow invited this behavior is outrageous and reflects a deep lack of professionalism and empathy. Refund Accusation: I did not ask for a refund, nor did I attempt to stay for free. After such a traumatic experience, I didn’t want to stay there at all. It was the police who asked for a refund on my behalf, stating that it was ridiculous for you to refuse one after this. When I left, I wasn’t concerned about the money—I wanted safety and basic human decency. An apology or a shred of empathy would have meant far more than $30. Baseless Accusations: Your claim that I fabricated this experience for financial gain is laughable. The idea that I would endure such trauma and public scrutiny for $30 is absurd. Frankly, I hope you used that money well because it seems you needed it far more than I did. To those reading this: My experience at this hostel was terrifying and traumatic. Management’s response to my review only confirms their lack of accountability and unwillingness to take guest safety seriously. If you are a solo female traveler or value your safety, I urge you to avoid this hostel at all costs.

    I had a very scary experience at this hostel. The bathroom is mixed, and while I was showering, a man pulled himself up on the barrier to watch me. Unfortunately, there was no staff to help at the reception, and I was ignored when I messaged them. This situation made me feel frightened, especially at night. The people that stay at this hotel are really sketchy. I would not recommend this place to women. The facilities are not clean, there is no cutlery in the kitchen and the lockers are broken.

    Location I felt very unsafe as a woman in this hostel and can't recommend it. The washrooms are mixed. As I was showering, a man pulled himself up over the barrier so he could see me naked. There was no one at the reception to help me, and my message to the hostel was ignored. I was too scared to go to the bathroom at night. The people that stay there are sketchy and the facilities are not clean. The lockers are broken.

    **minus 10/5** This place is a absolute dump. It’s filled with low-lifes who seem to live here long-term and act like they own the place. After I checked out, I was sitting in the lobby like any normal guest would, when some guy who claimed to be a "co-administrator" started trying to throw his weight around, telling me to leave. He refused to properly identify himself and seemed to think he had some authority, but let’s be real—he was just acting like a thug. When I confronted the owner about this, she didn’t care at all. Instead of dealing with the situation, she covered for him, spinning lies and trying to shift the blame. The whole vibe of this place is creepy and hostile, and it’s clear that the people running it don’t know the first thing about hospitality and will turn on you in an instant if it suits them. The situation got so bad that I had to involve the police. Don’t let them fool you with any excuses—this hostel is a nightmare. Avoid it if you value your safety and respect.

    Good location to train station Property had lots of locals who lived there long term. In my dorm one of them came back drunk at 5am and was yelling loudly and then tried to climb into my bed. I ran out of room to get concierge as they said it was 24h and no one was there and when I came back to room my bed was covered in condoms. I felt unsafe from when I walked in as no locks on doors and also no one answered doorbell to let me on as I arrived at 10pm and some locals who lived in the building let me in. Only one bathroom which you have to walk through the kitchen where it was dirty and there was vomit in and around the toilet in the morning where I checked out in panic as a solo traveller.

    This hostel is the worst hostel i ever been at! The staff were so unpleasant, They didnt even say hi when we walked in, just asked for our passports. The place were dirty and the facilities were bad! 3 toilets and 2 showers to share for the whole hostel! The locks to the room didnt work, so i felt so unsafe the whole night. Right before midnight the night before check out, They cancelled our booking, so we couldnt write a bad review, had to contact the website serviceteam! Dont go to Sky Hostel..

    Upon arriving at Sky Hostel, where we had booked in for three nights, we were initially impressed by the great location and characterful building in which it is situated. The first night was fine, even if the bathrooms and kitchen were a little grimy. There are only two showers that are available out of four and you are asked to limit the duration of your shower to five minutes. Also, there was no toilet roll at several points throughout our stay. However, considering you pay £12 a night, this doesn’t seem too unreasonable… ..... The next night is when the trouble started, however… After being out all day, we returned to the hostel around 11pm. Upon entering our room, we find two strangers in our beds and all of our belongings gone. After some confusion, we resorted to knocking on the hostel owner’s bedroom door. When we asked her where our things were, she laughed and gestured into another of the hostel’s rooms where we found all of our belongings strewn across the floor and our damp towels (that we had hooked on the end of our former bunk to dry that morning) wrapped in a sheet with our clean pyjamas that we had left on our beds. ..... We also had no idea where our valuables were (passports, wallets, laptops) because the last place we had put them was in a safe locker in the other room, which we could now not get back into. ..... When we explained to her how invasive this was, she responded by shrugging and saying ‘it’s not my problem’. Other hostel guests were equally appalled about what had happened to us and had their own issues with the landlady too (she cancels your booking on hostelworld before you check out so that you cannot leave an accurate review). ..... Though none of our belongings had gone missing and we got our valuables back (because the guests in our former room took pity and let us in), it made us feel incredibly violated and unsafe and we checked out a night early as a consequence. ..... We had no issue needing to move rooms. We are pragmatic and understand that these things happen. What would have been appropriate, however, was asking our consent (that morning in person, by email, by phone - all of which were possible) before moving our personal belongings. ..... Furthermore, though we are not ‘princes and princesses who fart perfume and poop marshmallows’ (Landlady, 2 months ago, Google Review Response), there was blood on my duvet (not bedbugs, I checked, but still…), the mattresses were badly stained, the walls had brown stains in places, and the doors to the rooms did not lock. ..... Before the landlady accuses ‘that [we] did not take a shower for two days in hot weather’ (Landlady, 3 months ago, Google Review Response), I can assure you that we showered every day so the smell was decidedly not us… Though we absolutely ‘give a damn about the people working in the hostel’ (Landlady, 4 months ago, Google Review), it would be nice if the people working in the hostel gave a damn about their guests. ..... All in all, I would not recommend staying here and would seek out other accommodation. Also, I would recommend reading the other Google reviews, rather than the reviews on Hostelworld, as they are truly informative.

    WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO FEMALE TRAVELLERS! I stayed here for 4 nights and it was not a safe experience. I will say that the location was great and there is access to wife and storage and it was a good price. However, there were random men sleeping on all the couches, no locks on the bedroom doors, none of the rooms or the bathroom was cleaned my entire stay. One man broke into my friends locket and two of them proceeded to harass us our entire stay.

    Worst hostel i’ve stayed in. Staff were in and out the room constantly all time of the day, no locks on door either so very very little security aside from lockers that seem to have little to no structural integrity anymore (could easily be broken into). 3 Toilets for the entire hostel and one with a toilet seat that sat beside the toilet itself. 2 Out of 4 showers kept constantly locked. Our booking was cancelled by the staff a day before we were expecting to vacate, seems common practise to avoid honest reviews on hostel world and clear fake reviews on hostel world by either staff or staff friends. Only saving grace is the location but it would be worth spending a little more for any of the numerous hostels very close in the same area.
