Caution! Bed bugs! Unfortunately, a girl and I both got bed bug bites in Casa Verdi even though we slept in two beds far apart from each other in one room. We also know for sure that it came from Casa Verdi and had the bites diagnosed by a doctor. This was not a big surprise, because the hostel was not very clean. There was a lot of dust in the corners everywhere, especially in the corners of the bathroom and we noticed that the overblankets in the rooms were not washed after they were used by a guest. So unfortunatly i have to say it's no wonder that there are bed bugs. Very sad because the people were very sweet. Addressed that we had bed bugs from the Casa Verdi, I initially got back only an incoherent message with many typos. When I then pointed out the problem again, I was only told that nothing could be done. I was offered neither a refund, nor a partial refund, nor any other final concession. They just told me that it could happen anywhere, which is not true because bed bugs die if you wash bedding properly. The fact that another girl and I had bed bugs in two different beds shows that the place is not clean. The stitches are all over my face, I look like a puffball. It itches and hurts. I also have to disinfect all my luggage. Not cool! I've stayed in many hostels in Europe, I've never had this. I know other people have had bites too. We thought it was mosquitoes bites at first, so a lot of people just weren't aware. But I went to see a doctor and he clearly identified the bites as bed bug bites. So I'm sorry folks, but I advise you to stay away from there.

Casa Verdi ressemble plus à un appartement partagé créatif qu'à une auberge standard : un vieux bâtiment de Catane avec hauts plafonds, art, livres, guitares, salons cosy et une terrasse ou un balcon rempli de plantes où l'on a envie de s'attarder. Le style de la maison est informel, chaleureux et basé sur le partage plutôt que sur le poli hôtelier. La cuisine est un vrai point fort, avec matériel de cuisine, café, thé, épices, produits de base et parfois biscuits ou nourriture partagée qui traîne. Le marché voisin rend l'auto-catering facile, et la config peut se transformer en longues discussions à la table de cuisine, dîners de groupe, gâteau, soirées pizza ou hangouts tranquilles. La scène sociale est généralement relax et amicale plutôt que bruyante façon party hostel. Petits concerts, rencontres, événements d'impro en anglais et conseils de ville donnés par les volontaires lui donnent un pouls communautaire, tandis que la rue calme et les grandes chambres privées peuvent aussi offrir un atterrissage plus doux. Salles de bain propres, chambres spacieuses, serviettes, plusieurs douches et volontaires multilingues serviables font partie de l'attrait. Granita le chat et un chien ajoutent au sentiment de maison vécue, mais les allergies aux animaux méritent d'être prises au sérieux ici.

- Des plaintes concernant des punaises de lit apparaissent en 2023, 2025 et 2026 ; vérifie l'état actuel de propreté avant de réserver.
- Les moustiques peuvent être un vrai problème pendant les périodes plus chaudes.
- Les chambres côté rue peuvent recevoir du bruit à travers les vieilles fenêtres ou portes de balcon.
- L'intimité en dortoir est limitée, et les serrures ou casiers peuvent manquer ou être petits.
- La pression de l'eau, l'eau chaude, le confort des matelas, la climatisation et les clés capricieuses ont été irréguliers.
