Unfortunately my friend got bed bugs which was quite unpleasant. But otherwise the hostel seemed nice and had nice shared spaces.

Caution! Bed bugs! Unfortunately, a girl and I both got bed bug bites in Casa Verdi even though we slept in two beds far apart from each other in one room. We also know for sure that it came from Casa Verdi and had the bites diagnosed by a doctor. This was not a big surprise, because the hostel was not very clean. There was a lot of dust in the corners everywhere, especially in the corners of the bathroom and we noticed that the overblankets in the rooms were not washed after they were used by a guest. So unfortunatly i have to say it's no wonder that there are bed bugs. Very sad because the people were very sweet. Addressed that we had bed bugs from the Casa Verdi, I initially got back only an incoherent message with many typos. When I then pointed out the problem again, I was only told that nothing could be done. I was offered neither a refund, nor a partial refund, nor any other final concession. They just told me that it could happen anywhere, which is not true because bed bugs die if you wash bedding properly. The fact that another girl and I had bed bugs in two different beds shows that the place is not clean. The stitches are all over my face, I look like a puffball. It itches and hurts. I also have to disinfect all my luggage. Not cool! I've stayed in many hostels in Europe, I've never had this. I know other people have had bites too. We thought it was mosquitoes bites at first, so a lot of people just weren't aware. But I went to see a doctor and he clearly identified the bites as bed bug bites. So I'm sorry folks, but I advise you to stay away from there.

Casa Verdi sembra piu un appartamento creativo condiviso che un ostello standard: un vecchio edificio di Catania con soffitti alti, arte, libri, chitarre, common room cozy e una terrazza o balcone pieno di piante fatto per indugiare. Lo stile della casa e informale, caldo e basato sulla condivisione piu che sulla lucidatura da hotel. La cucina e una vera forza, con attrezzi per cucinare, caffe, te, spezie, basi alimentari e a volte biscotti o cibo condiviso in giro. Il mercato vicino rende facile cucinare da se, e l'assetto puo trasformarsi in lunghe chiacchiere al tavolo, cene di gruppo, torte, serate pizza o hangout low-key. La scena sociale e di solito rilassata e amichevole piu che da party hostel rumoroso. Piccoli concerti, ritrovi, eventi di improv in inglese e dritte sulla citta guidate dai volontari gli danno un battito comunitario, mentre la strada tranquilla e le private room spaziose funzionano comunque per un atterraggio morbido. Bagni puliti, camere ampie, asciugamani, piu docce e volontari multilingue utili fanno parte del fascino. Granita la gatta e un cane aggiungono sensazione di casa vissuta, ma le allergie agli animali qui vanno prese sul serio.

- Reclami per cimici dei letti compaiono nel 2023, 2025 e 2026; controlla lo stato attuale della pulizia prima di prenotare.
- Le zanzare possono essere un problema vero nei periodi piu caldi.
- Le camere sulla strada possono prendere rumore da finestre vecchie o porte del balcone.
- La privacy nei dorm e limitata, e serrature o armadietti possono mancare o essere piccoli.
- Pressione dell'acqua, acqua calda, comfort dei materassi, aria condizionata e chiavi difficili sono stati incostanti.
