Actually I don’t even wanna think about the mess. I even got bit by bed bug. The beds were not clean so we shift 3 rooms for 2 nights. Except that they had people in my bed after I came back from out . So .. sooo kind of things

Thin walls, probably bed bugs, bathrooms- toilets not clean, service was okay, breakfast was good lots of variations. 2 buses arrived with loud angry disrespectful, badly behaved students running along the corridor at night and banging on people's doors. Location was convenient that's why we chose it.

Great location and cheap accommodation. Our room was clean and fine - they are renovating many of the rooms on the 5th floor and giving them an upgrade. No sign of bedbugs, which is good as was a bit worried based on reviews from 6 months ago. Only major criticism is the guest kitchen is a bit grim - the sponges smell awful, it's tiny and poorly equipped. Breakfast is also overpriced which combined with the bad kitchen facilities is not ideal.

I am putting a 5 star review, because the experience was better than I thought. When we were reading the reviews on the hostel we were scared how our stay will be. We were a big school group and I was in a room for 6 people, it hat enough space and the sheets were clean and we didn’t have problems with bedbugs. The toilet and the shower were in two different sections, so they can be used at the same time, which was a big plus. I personally think that the food was very good. Sometimes we had same problems with the noise but we weren’t very quiet either. The location is very good, no comment on that. For the prises I can’t really talk, because we paid everything at once with plane tickets, museums etc. I am writing this mostly for the students, who are going to stay there, so they know there is hope😄.

Do not stay here. The hostel has bedbugs and is filthy. When I checked-in at the hostel, I was assigned a room where three 60 year old French men were smoking marijuana. They refused to let me enter or sleep in the room. I was given another room. However, the room I reassigned to only had dirty unmade beds in it. I went back to the reception and was given a third room. The third room was clean and empty, but upon inspecting the bed, I saw bedbugs. Bedbugs drink human blood. When I reported this to the receptionist, she refused to give me a refund and didn’t care or make a note about the bedbugs. Bedbugs are a public health hazard and this business does not care about your health or safety. Buchen Sie hier auf keinen Fall. Das Hostel hat Bettwanzen und ist dreckig. Als ich im Hostel eincheckte, wurde mir ein Zimmer zugewiesen, in dem drei 60-jährige Franzosen Marihuana rauchten. Sie weigerten sich, mich hereinzulassen oder dort schlafen zu lassen. Mir wurde daraufhin ein anderes Zimmer gegeben. Das Zimmer, das mir neu zugewiesen wurde, hatte jedoch nur schmutzige, ungemachte Betten. Ich ging zurück zur Rezeption und erhielt ein drittes Zimmer. Das dritte Zimmer war sauber und leer, aber als ich das Bett untersuchte, entdeckte ich Bettwanzen. Bettwanzen trinken menschliches Blut. Als ich dies der Empfangsdame meldete, weigerte sie sich, mir eine Rückerstattung zu geben; es war ihr egal und sie machte sich keine Notiz über die Bettwanzen. Bettwanzen sind eine Gefahr für die öffentliche Gesundheit, und diesem Betrieb ist Ihre Gesundheit oder Sicherheit egal. Hinweis: Die Empfangsdame spricht kein Deutsch.

We stayed in a private room which was fine! It was expensive for what we got but we had to book last minute due to our other accommodation being cancelled. Beds were comfortable and warm. Close to station. However, one out of the three of us got bitten by something (potentially bed bugs) during the night.

Worst hostel I’ve stayed at. The kitchen had no utensils and only one pan. The kitchen was filthy dirty, unwashed pots that appeared to be days old, dirt and mess everywhere and smelt terrible both nights I stayed here. The first night I stayed here one lady had to move rooms because her bed had bed bugs. The second night I stayed here a lady had checked out of her room and staff had not come to clean her bed or remove the used bed linen before more people checked into the room at 6pm.

For the price, this hostel could have been fine - but I got bitten by bed bugs! My legs are covered in bites, and no, it’s not mosquitoes. It’s definitely bed bugs, and I’m allergic to them. It’s disgusting and horrible. Also, who thought it was a good idea to use fitted sheets in a hostel? Imagine arriving at midnight, your bed is on the top bunk, and you have to fight with that stupid elastic sheet in the dark. Seriously, what kind of sadism is that? Overall, a very unpleasant experience. I’ve stayed in many cheap hostels around the world, but this one is by far the worst.

it wasn't comfortable neither clean as I found bed bug on my pillow plus the shower cabin was full of hair . The location was not bad takes 45min approximately to reach the center . I would book it again in case of necessity .

Omg bedbugs so dangerous for health!!!

WARNING - DO NOT GO!!! I absolutely advise against this hostel if you don’t want to face your biggest nightmare: BEDBUGS. Even if you don’t see them and wake up without any bites, nah brother, YOU ARE NOT SAFE. Why you might ask? BECAUSE YOU GET TONS OF BITES ONE WEEK LATER! And for the cherry on top of the cake, you might even bring them home with you! And if this happens, you are absolutely COOKED. So in conclusion, this is totally unacceptable, many other guests had the same problem, I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! The place is riddled with bedbugs!!!!! I woke up in the morning with dozens of bites and the staff did NOTHING I ended up having to wash and dry everything in their laundry which didn't work. I walked to the train station in my damp clothes and checked into a hotel after one night. IT'S NOT WORTH IT PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF!!!

Bei der Ankunft stank es im Zimmer fürchterlich. es gab eine Person, deren Gepäck aus einigen Supermarkt-Tüten und Bier bestand, das direkt neben dem Kopfkissen gelagert wurde. Dachte, nagut, drei Nächte hältst du das aus, kein Problem und die Obdachlosen waren friedlich. Am nächsten Tag leider überall Bettwanzenstiche gehabt und danach auch welche im Bett selbst entdeckt, nachdem ich die Matratze umdrehte. Ich weiß, dass das passieren kann, aber der Umgang damit war äußerst unprofessionell. Auf Hinweis keine Entschuldigung an der Rezeption, nur ein neues Zimmer bekommen. Dort auch ein netter Obdachloser mit viel Alkohol im Zimmer. Mein altes Zimmer wurde allerdings überhaupt nicht informiert und die Betten wurden trotz meiner Info mit neuen Gästen belegt, die erst auf meinen Hinweis von den Wanzen erfahren haben, um ein neues Zimmer an der Rezeption zu erbitten. Eine befreundete Sozialarbeiterin hat mir 2 Tage später erklärt, dass sie Obdachlose häufiger zu AO Hostels verweisen, weil es so günstig ist. Auf meiner Etage hatten noch ca. 10 andere Personen Bettwanzen. Investieren Sie lieber 15€ pro Nacht mehr in ein ordentliches Hostel. Dann müssen Sie ihr Gepäck auch nicht bei 60° waschen oder einfrieren, um das Einschleppen der Wanzen nach Hause zu verhindern. Letzter Punkt: Zimmer werden nicht automatisch täglich gereinigt(aus Umweltgründen natürlich), auch wenn dies kostenlos anforderbar ist. Ein zugekotetes Bad bei der Ankunft um 22 Uhr vorzufinden, ist aber trotzdem eher mäßig lustig. Reinigung erst am nächsten Tag. Aber gibt eben Gründe für den Preis. Bin selbst Schuld. Und Obdachlose können natürlich auch nichts für unprofessionelles Personal.

I chose this hostel because of its location and the promised parking (but unfortunately the stay was a complete disappointment). The parking was not available. The description says that you have to reserve it in advance, but there was no information on how to do that. My message via Booking was never answered. In the end, I had to park 1.5 km away in another garage and walk to the hostel with my luggage. When we arrived in the room, the shower was completely clogged. We had to clean the drain ourselves, and dirt and hair came out. The walls were scratched and damaged, and the beds were not even made. For a 2-star hostel, this is unacceptable. The so-called “4-bed room” was also very disappointing. All photos show four chairs at the table, but in reality there were only two stools. Two of us had to eat on the beds, and there would not have been space for more chairs anyway. The room was extremely small and cramped – calling it a 4-bed room is clearly misleading. In the tiny bathroom, the shelf could barely hold four toothbrushes, nothing more. The check-in system via machines is confusing and unfriendly. There is no normal check-in or check-out. For extras such as breakfast or parking you still have to queue at the reception, which makes the whole process contradictory. Staff were present, but completely useless: no cleaning, no proper assistance, no service. And the worst part: we were bitten by bedbugs in the room. This is absolutely unacceptable and a very serious hygiene problem. I have stayed in many hostels before, but I have never experienced such a low standard. It was especially disappointing because I was traveling with my grandmother, who was abroad for the first time. This hostel only cares about profit, not about its guests.

Bedbugs. There where a ton of them. The rooms where dirty with mysterious stains on the walls. The windows didn't open fully for safety reasons which is completely understandable, but out of the two, one's handle was broken off. It's clear that they don't clean after all of the guests, hence someone's dirty tissue behind the tv (no, the tv doesn't work). Location wise it's actually quite good, and there's little to no noise at night, but there's no ventilation. At all. The waiting area is okay with lots of open space (the coffee machine in the waiting area doesn't work expect for hot water, but I'm sure they'll fix that later). Mixed experience with staff, some where very nice and helpful and some incredibly rude. Breakfast was nice with vegan and allergy friendly options. Overall it's a typical low-quality hostel asides the BEDBUG INFESTATION. Please get a handle on that.

Do not stay here. We had a terrible experience in this hostel. On our first morning we woke up to find blood in our beds only to then discover we had bed bugs. The man at reception offered to move us to a different room however we chose to find somewhere else to stay and were told we would receive a full refund for the two nights we had booked. However when we contacted the support team about the refund this was not the case. They refused to give us a refund for the first night we stayed despite what we were promised when there. Wish I could leave 0 stars.

I was bitten by bed bugs. I found that on the wall this morning. Absolutely terrified.

Overall a very average hostel. Generally rooms were clean and contrary to other reviews n posing of bed bugs. There was a lot of mould in the bathroom, but other than that overall very clean. Beds weren’t numbered so it was often unclear which were occupied. Self check in screens available so no staff interaction required. Rooms weren’t very safe, small lockers and lots of people coming and going from room that weren’t staying, as well as a number of people coming into the room late at night.

No one welcomes you when you arrive only 1 person checking in upwards of 10 people one lady came to the reception in front of us complaining about bites on her skin (bed bugs I’m guessing) from the room. Decided not to stay there and go elsewhere

Service said I dropped something and wanted me to charge for it, while I didn’t. Our room was infested by bedbugs, the windows don’t open much, there was trash from the last visitors still on the floor and behind spaces, all the food tastes a little bit bitter and the walls are made of paper, so you won’t get a good nights sleep. Good location, and some good service men.

I stayed at a&o Wien Hauptbahnhof on the night of 3rd August 2025 and was horrified to find myself covered in bed bug bites within an hour of checking in. Multiple live bed bugs were crawling on my body, bed, and floor. I have photographic evidence and reported the incident immediately. The night receptionist, Mr. Konstantinos, was visibly alarmed. His exact words were, “Someone could die from this.” He relocated me to another room and acknowledged the severity of the situation. However, what followed was even more shocking: a&o’s senior management completely ignored the seriousness of this health hazard. Despite escalating the issue to: Oliver Winter (Managing Director) Phillip Winter (Management) Donjeta Berisha (Customer Service) Hendrik (Customer Care Manager) Thomas Hertkorn, Arben Maliqi, Sven Drave, Michael Muecke, Bence Kovacs, Shanky Gondal, and others via multiple emails and formal complaints… …I received only a dismissive response and my formal request for fair compensation was ignored. No apology. No responsibility. No action to ensure guest safety.

This hotel used to be decent a couple of years ago but it is in full decadency now it is a pitty that cleanningness is being so neglected.

Hosteli konumu ve fiyatının uygunluğundan dolayı tercih ettim. 18-22 Temmuz 2025 arasında 4 gece konakladım. Öncelikle standart bir hostel fakat odalarda priz yok denecek kadar az. TAHTA KURUSU (BEDBUG) problemini son gün vücudumda yüzlerce sivrisinek ısırığına benzer yara oluştuğunda fark ettim. Tatilimin ilk günlerinden beri Viyana’da çok fazla sivrisinek olduğunu düşünüyordum ama işin doğrusu öyle değilmiş. Resepsiyona bunu söylediğimde bildiklerini ve özür dilediklerini söylediler. Ben hayatımda böyle bir rezalet görmedim. Yaklaşık 1 hafta sonunda tahta kurusu ısırıklarından yeni kurtuldum. Tavsiye etmiyorum. Sokakta kalabilirsiniz ama burada kalmayın.

I am confused. My stay was not so bad but I would say that as a solo traveller you are not in your place there. You have to make your bed and the rooms are not clean. Young people shouting and running around all night long. Staff is unpleasant. They might have bedbugs. (Still not sure)

The Room was not properly clean. Bed Bugs were found on the Beds. Very uncomfortable stay for my daughter who got allergy after Bedbugs biting. I don’t recommend the stay with small and young kids. The pillows and blankets were very dirty not able to use.

I stayed in the hostel for 5 days The room was pretty okay, but the bathrooms were really bad. the shower was moldy, the toilet didn't flush properly and the sink was too small to even wash hands properly. My friend who stayed in a different room said there were bedbugs in there. One night someone from the other side of the hostel was flashing light into my friends window and when the personel came to see what's happening they stopped doing that. I didn't really feel safe. The food is good, I really liked the drinks machine in the canteen. Overall, the hostel is good if you're staying with group for one night, its cheap, communicated, the staff is speaking English well and the quality is not the worst, but I wouldn't stay there for more than 2 nights.

If you want to be more environmentally conscious and not clean the rooms every day like you used to do, there will be a LOT of dust and disgusting places. Bed bugs, abhorrent floor in the kitchen and dangerous bathrooms. Not a single area felt clean or looked after, especially the kitchen which floor still had a tomato in the corner all four days of my visit. The kitchen didn’t even have as much as a single plate. Also, the staff is incredibly rude and seem to hate their job. Pay them better

Bed bugs infestation and dozens of bites overnight. Manager promised refund of night fee and expenses. Promises were not kept, no refund or expenses paid, no reply from A&O Customer service after several attempts and Booking.com did not help.

!—AVOID—! This was the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. The rooms have no AC so they get extremely hot especially in the summer. You’ll be sweating in any room you’re in. The guest kitchen looks horrible and crammed, there are no lockers to store your luggage away, except for the luggage room which is completely unsafe for people to use. From what I’ve seen anyone can just waltz in and rummage through whatever. The outside patio had sensor lights that would constantly bug out and keep turning on and off. If you’re thinking of booking this hostel to spend the night before an early morning train from the train station, you’re better off sleeping IN the train station than here. Also the establishment doesn’t care about people’s experiences since all I’ve seen in their replies to other reviews was an automated message that had nothing to do with the content of the review. Many reviews talk about rooms being infested with bed bugs, which is what I found out only after a few hours in the room. I did not finish my stay and checked out immediately. a&o has yet to comment on the sheer amount of bed bug related complaints. I will definitely be avoiding all a&o hostels in the future.

The rooms are extremely hot with no AC making it impossible to sleep comfortably, the bunk beds ladders are a safety hazard (they’re impossible to get up and down), the guest kitchen is cramped and dirty, the luggage room is accessible by everyone so no point in keeping your luggage there if you want to keep your stuff safe, the bar has several different prices for the same item making it extremely confusing as to what price one item is. They also have bed bugs.

Absolutely disgusting – bed bugs crawling all over the bed at midnight. I had to throw away my clothes and personal items.

****AVOID**** You only have to read the 1-star reviews to see many, many complaints of locked kitchens, unsupervised "left luggage" room (I've never come across a situation like this in all my hostelling around the world), dirty rooms, bed bugs (still in 2025 ! The rest of the hostels in Europe cleared up this problem 2 years ago). And terrible service. That the owners don't care that your luggage can be damaged, opened and things taken, or the whole thing taken is unforgivable. Read the reviews where the owner says "We're not responsible" - unbelievable. Read the response from the owner. Instead of investigating complaints, replying specifically about the issue, inviting the reviewer to get in touch to learn more about the bad experience, they just have a bot that automatically posts the same lame message that tells you THEY. DON'T. The place is dirty and has a bedbug problem. The service is extremely poor, and guests are clearly not treated with the attention or care they deserve. I paid for breakfast, but the buffet was incomplete and did not offer what was promised. On top of that, there was a long wait due to poor organization. I absolutely do not recommend this place

Horrible place to stay in. If you have to opportunity to stay here, don’t take it. I couldn't sleep because there was bed bugs biting me all night. As soon as the sun came out so do I.

You have to make your bed, which can be difficult if you’re checking in at night and you don’t want to wake up the other guests in the room. The worst thing is that I got multiple rashes overnight; not sure if it was bed bugs or something caused an allergic reaction.

The rooms were very dirty in general, the shower drain completely clogged, a lot of mold in the bathroom walls. The first night we had to move to another room bc one of our roommate was so sick that he couldn't even breathe, sneezing, coughing, hardly breathing the whole night and being very rude, he definitely should be in a hospital, not a hostel. We asked the staff to please give us another room, in the beginning they said nothing was available, but the second time we asked, another girl said there were available beds so we moved, my boyfriend got bites in the middle of the night because of bedbugs, he had to move to my bed, the mattress are very very uncomfortable, the beds very uncomfortable, the luggage room doesn't feel safe at all, anyone can take your luggage and leave, nobody will notice it. Noise in the hallways all night makes it very hard to sleep. At least the staff was nice and helpful when I needed it.

The location is great, very close to the main station. You don’t have to endure the cold weather for a long time to reach the hostel. The reception was a bit chaotic. Some cutting in lines and some others coming to fetch the key cards for the locker rooms. The biggest problem for my stay this time is bed bugs. My hands and neck got bitten as they were uncovered during sleep. I am literally typing this message with swollen fingers.

Don’t save money stay elsewhere, It is so uncomfortable painful and itchy
