cockroaches & bed bugs! be careful with the private hotel rooms!

Whatever you do, do not stay here. Worst hostel I have stayed. They supply you with one dirty blanket and I woke up itchy. Would not be surprised if there were bedbugs here. The only good thing is the location.

According to the comments I read before coming, we expected something really bad. But in reality it was clean, we didn't wait for check-in, there were no bed bugs, the covers had a sheet and we had towels. The location is perfect, there is noise but it's not terrible. The toilets, although shared, were clean. We would come back again!

The stuff was rude , the price overrated , the facilites wasn't good too small space for bathroom the matress wasn't good either too thin and worse of all I SAW A BED BUG CRRAWLING .

It wasn’t really clean, 2 out of 4 toilets were not closeable. All in all it was very anonymous. There is no kitchen, just a sink and a microwave. You really need to secure your food in the kitchen as all of mine was stolen. It doesn’t look like on the photos. The worst thing was, that on the last day I found out that there were bedbugs. All in all not recomendable.

Luckily I couldn’t put zero star. Our room was infested with bedbugs. We all got bitten and even had a bad allergic reaction. Told the guy that was working at the reception and he requested me the email them so we could be refunded. Still waiting on their answer, it’s been a week !!! I would not recommend at all. The hygiene and cleanliness is clearly not a priority for them.

Habían chinches en la habitación (bedbugs) y muchos casos de ellos en varias habitaciones. Hace mucho frío y la manta que te dan es muy pequeña, el ruido de afuera es insoportable, el personal no te ayuda. muy mala experiencia

One of the room had bed bugs, in mine none but we could listen and see people complaining in the corridors and police around the hostel so I can't suggest this hostel as I was lucky to not get a room with problems, also half of the rooms wardrobes were broken

BED BUG INFESTATION. Do not stay here - this place is a health hazard. In addition to the creatures living in the beds and in the walls, the rooms are filthy, the windows don't close properly, and the staff cannot help you.

BEDBUGS, UNHYGENIC HELL HOLE - the place is crawling with bedbugs. Avoid at all cost!!!!! If only 0 stars were an option.

MUY MALA EXPERIENCIA. Lo peor: chinches en la habitación. BEDBUGS, y el peligro que estos suponen… cuando le reclamamos el de recepción insinuó que no sabía nada del tema y nos dijo que probablemente eran termitas (adjunto vídeos de los chinches), viendo que la mayoría de personas han reportado casos similares veo que es algo habitual en este hostal y el personal lo sabe perfectamente. El servicio en general es malo, espera de horas al entrar porque el sistema no funcionaba (algo común según estas reviews), la manta es pequeñísima y no abriga, el wifi no funciona bien… en fin… evitar a toda costa.

The bed bug infestation was the worst I've seen - they were crawling all over the walls, the mattresses and the floors. Our guests immediately left to find other accommodation as the hygiene standards were completely unacceptable. The staff were in complete denial about it, despite the multiple videos and photos we had (see attached). On top of that, when some of our guests returned to pick up some belongings, there were new people in the beds we had already booked and paid for.

The place was completely infested with bed bugs - in the mattresses, on the walls, floors etc. The reception staff at first admitted their "had been a problem" with bed bugs last month, but then completely denied it and claimed they were actually termites. Our group had to leave to find alternative accommodation. When some group members returned to the hostel to pick up belongings, they found that their beds were occupied, so the hostel had gone on to resell beds we technically already had booked. On top of that, they claimed we had taken keys and tried to charge us an extra €25 per key, despite the fact that we never even stayed at the hostel to begin with. An absolutely disgusting standard of cleanliness and I highly recommend you steer well clear.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Stayed here as part of a group of around 40 people for two nights but after the first night we all had to book a hotel room because of BED BUGS. The man at reception didn't seem to know what to do or care. The police showed even showed up in the middle of the night and the next morning. The window in our room also didn't close properly so I could hear people clearly outside all night especially at 5.30am when the nightclubs finished. There was also no hot water in the showers. I read the reviews from weeks ago about bed bugs and hoped the problem would be solved but save yourself alot of money and hardship by avoiding this place.

Do not stay here if you value hygiene or a good nights sleep. The hostel was covered in bed bugs. A large group of us stayed and realised after getting into bed that there were bed bugs on the walls and the sheets. The man at reception didn’t know what to do as he was already dealing with numerous complaints about the same issue. In the end had to sleep sitting upright in a chair as I wanted to avoid the bed at all costs. Spend the extra €30 and book a hotel.

INFESTED WITH BED BUGS. I stayed with a group of 40. There were bed bugs in the 4 different rooms we slept in. We were woken at 2am because one of the girls saw some on the walls and then on all of the mattresses. The staff weren’t helpful at all and refused to offer us alternative accommodation and a refund, only helping us by giving us their info email. Do NOT stay here.

BEDBUGS!! Awful experience. Was woken up by my friends in the dorm to find bedbugs crawling on the walls and on our sheets. When we told reception there was another 2 groups of people complaining about the same issue. The man at reception couldn’t offer any solutions. Some girls left and had to book a hotel in the middle of the night. It was also cold and so noisy. Do not stay here!

Place has bed bugs!!!! Instantly left and had to book another hostel. Staff was not helpful or friendly. Huge waste of money unless you love sleeping and getting bitten by bed bugs

This was not a good place to stay in any way. There were bed bugs and someone called the police so I had to leave at 4am and scramble to find another place to stay.

Bed Bugs were a problem. Robberies were common. Phone charger was stolen on my first night and no one seemed to help out.

BED BUGS!!! Pros: The staff was very friendly unlike some other reviews I've ready. Location is awesome. Cons: But let's get to the issue: BED BUGS!!! And the staff said there is nothing that can be done. I'm hoping for a refund at the minimum! Also, my room was on the main street. People in Madrid so not sleep. It was SO loud all night long and that's why I removed a location star rating

They have bed bugs and didn't offer to do anything about it when I told them, more of a shrug. Also they couldn't get to their towels for some reason so I didnt shower the whole weekend. Check in was a mess, seem like nice people but the place is gross and you share a bed with bed bugs

BED BUGS. I had to buy cortisone for skin itches to to the bed bugs. I wonder if they really wash the beddings and linens.

Absolutely the worst hostel I have been in. I hated it so much and I felt dirty every second I was in the building. The locker assigned for my bed to hold my items didn’t work. People were stealing things. There were bedbugs. The staff had absolutely no urgency to help with the bedbug situation. I actually booked a second different hotel just so I could leave because it was so gross and dirty there. I never leave reviews and I redownloaded this app just so I could leave this review. SO GROSS

First i have stayed several times at this hostel as traveling for work , the reception staff act weird totally behaving strange and they are not helpful, last stay i got biten with bed bugs in one of the rooms they have changed my bed to another room to end up with bed bugs bites in the second room , i spoke with the guys in the reception to refund my stay after they have seen all the bites on my body they said you have to write an email ! Anyway they have no cleaning service at all

Atencion!!!! El check-in es a las 3pm (lo entiendo) Me asignan la habitacion 9 de 10 camas. Entro rapidamente; dejo mis cosas y salgo a explorar Madrid. Regreso cerca de la media noche y la fiesta estaba debajo de mi almohada. Una fiesta de acaros, bedbugs, chinches. Poderosos carnivorous dispuestos a inflarte de huevos, alergia e infeccion. A sorpresa Toda la habitacion estaba infestada (10 camas). A sorpresa nuestro amigo recepcionista Rafa nos dice que es normal, que Ellos limpian muy Bien y no es su problema. Hasta que vio la presion de 8 personas afectadas. Otra sorpresa es que si revisas reseñas desde 5 meses atras habra mas historias de bedbugs en Este hostel y no paran. Arc Hostels porfavor revisen que es lo que estan haciendo en Madrid. Para ti VIAJERO, NO te QUEDES AQUI. Al fin y Al cabo no te estan hospedando gratis.

I stayed in 4bed dorm and it was okay , though the ventilation was poor . Bed bugs were seen all over the!! No wifi in hostel throughout my stay of 4days , we complained multiple times but no one seemed to care. Very few washrooms with lots of people , bathing area was very bad Common area lacks seating , cleaning. No stove or burner to cook , it only has a microwave. Lastly but the most important- they have a thousand rules and charge fine for everything. But when its comes to providing facilities they do none. If you wanna stay and suffer maybe this is the one

I had a disappointing experience at the hotel. Despite reporting issues multiple times, the WiFi remained non-functional throughout my stay. The washrooms were cramped, lacked proper sanitization, and to make matters worse, I encountered bed bugs. The overall lack of maintenance was evident and significantly impacted my stay.

I did not want to have to leave a bad review for this hostel- as the staff seemed kind enough, but I think it is important that perspective guests are aware. The hostel has bed bugs. On the walls, in the bathroom, under the matresess. This in itself is not the hostel's fault, as it is nearly impossible to know whether they're coming in. The hostel was exeedingly dirty. Broken showers, hair and dust everywhere, and of course, bugs. I have emailed twice about a refund with not reponse.

First of all - I've been biten by bedbugs!!! And i got a fear that I've brought them on my clothes to another home! Photos of the hostel are not related, seems like they are outdated. Check-in can lasts more then 1 hour. They could've had more privacy in rooms, just adding a curtains because there are mixed (male and female) rooms. Bunk beds have no ladders (I can't name that i used to climb as a ladder). There are no clothes storages. There are no private bathrooms, so anybody could get in and left the door opened while you are taking the shower. They don't offer hairdryer as well. There are no room to have some time to scroll/work, execept the kitchen with only three tables (and there are like 8 rooms by 10 persons each). There are no cofee-machine, just single kettle. Lockers are free, but you have to buy a lockpad for 4 euro. And It is much cheaper to buy new towel in a nearby shop, than rent it for 4 a day. There are no ventilation, so you have to keep windows opened, which is when it is 2 celcius outside a quite dangerous, so you'll definately catch a cold. As it is located in very crowded place, you will have no chance to sleep, people are laughing and screaming till 5 am, so then workers start to collect the garbage.

Beware. Great location, yet somewhat weird. Not really a comfortable relaxed, social vibe - almost like a halfway house. I killed a bedbug my second night there.

There were bedbugs, in the first room (ladies only 8beds) then he moved us to the second room (mixed 12 beds) and then i discovered AGAIN bedbugs... Then finally he moved us to one room without bedbugs (mixed 8beds). First of all: We paid for 8 beds so makes no sense he first wanted to put us in a room with 12 beds... Had bedbugs in my room, the windows were broken and it was impossible to close it. There had no curtains so you have light all along the day and night. Worst hostel i saw.

the stay wasn't anything special but me and my roomate got bed bugs and they moved us to another room and proceeded to put more guests in the beds we were just in!

BED BUGS - have never had to leave a review like this but hopefully helps others make a decision before booking here. This worst stay we have had in a hostel. We were all ravaged by bed bugs, there was no hostel atmosphere, average facilities, the only benefit is the location.

My friends and I have stayed in many european hostels, all of which had pros and cons. Overall, mostly pros everywhere else. Not here. They will take your stuff and try to charge you €50+ to get it back. There are bedbugs pretty bad. And pickpockets hang out at the door. All the reviews saying it is clean here cannot be real. Staff goes through the motions if you have complaints, but nothing is really fixed.

BED BUGS!!! They have bed bugs and it's on a very loud busy street. Multiple people complained and they offered to change our sheets. I told them that's not how bed bugs worked. After waiting hours,they gave me a refund. Not worth the money.

We discovered bed bugs in our beds at the very end of our four night stay. We had developed bug bites two days prior but did not realize they were from bed bugs. We were horrified to discover them the morning we were supposed to leave crawling on our bed. Please take this into account before booking this hostel, it was a truly horrifying experience.

My husband already wrote a review regarding our stay, so let me just say one word: bedbugs... But I wanted to mention another thing. On our way to checkout, we heard people yelling in the lobby. To our surprise, it was the staff, talking this way to a customer! Later, we saw the same gentleman who was getting yelled at, sitting on a park bench with all his luggage, so we asked him what happened. He was an international college student, traveling to Madrid for some paperwork, he didn't know anyone or anything in Madrid. The staff yelled at him and threw him on the street, because his girlfriend booked his room on his name, but with her own credit card. As we also saw, the staff was very rude and unprofessional, refusing any solution, like canceling and rebooking the bed, talking to the girlfriend on the phone, him paying the price of the bed again in cash.. Nothing worked, so the young man would have had to spend the night outside, as there were no other affordable options around on such short notice. Of course, we offered to pay his night in a different hotel nearby, so he wouldn't have to spend the night on the street. We understand that there are policies in place, but the way the staff handled this was rude and not helpful at all. Seeing the website, we couldn't even find the rule stating that what they did was not allowed. You should only visit this place if you think policies are above basic human decency.

2 words BED BUGS! Chinches! When I told the guy something was biting me at night, he stated the only thing he could do was change my blanket. AC didn’t work much.

Please clean the facility properly and get rid of the bugs. Hot bitten by bed bugs twice even after changing rooms. Staff wasn’t too helpful. Still waiting on my refund for three nights as we left earlier

DO NOT GO THERE! I was bitten by bed bugs all over my body and they didn't really care much. Plus, there is very heavy mould in one of the bathrooms.
