I’m torn with this review. On one hand, this is a very nice social hostel and it has nice bathrooms. On the other hand, some dorms had bedbugs lol

Overall not bad, the hostel rooms could do with a bit of TLC and where all the beds are connected, if someone moved the whole bed moved. Breakfast was good and very sociable vibes at the hostel. There was not loads of seating around the pool though which made it quite cramped at times. Also staff were insistent there were no bed bugs after my multiple friends had found them in their room which wasn’t the bed. Luckily our room was fine but staff did not deal with it in the most professional way

Found bed bugs in our room. Management was uncooperative, reluctantly offering a 2-night refund after a lengthy discussion. Laundry service claimed 2-day turnaround despite offering express 3-6 hour option. When asked for express, staff threatened to call police multiple times. Unacceptable experience.

I had a lovely time here staff were nice and good value for money but I had a very bad case of bed bugs. When I told the staff they took it very seriously and moved everyone out of the room and cleaned everything. But there were bed bugs in 2 different rooms so I think it spread at this point so if you book a room please check your bed I got bitten very badly.

I love this hostel! I have to change my stay from different hostel to come here because there are bedbugs. And this hostel absolutely well cleans. Definitely not the party hostel but very social atmosphere and I met some nice friends there too The staff are super friendly, the vibe is always great, and everything is lovely and cozy. Breakfast was the best I've ever had. Just a really cool place to be. Can’t recommend it enough and no complaints

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The staff was lovely and the free breakfast was one of the best ones ive ever had in a hostel. The rooms were nice and the bathrooms sufficient. However, the pool does not have a cleaning system. It was also a bit weird there was a camera in the general bathroom area. During my stay some others also found bedbugs in their rooms and in the common area. While the staff did make sure to clean everything, i dont think they plan to fumigate the whole place.

The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the location can't be better and everything is sparkling clean. The atmosphere is perfect for young people. We read that there were bed bugs in Laos and checked the bed in my room and friends room, however there was nothing and happy to stay relaxing for 5 nights

Staff are lovely, great location, beds are comfy! Unfortunately both me and my friend had a significant amount of money stolen from our bags during our stay. Can’t say who it was, but the place poses a big security risk. Front door wide open and dorms never lock, no lockers for big bags either just little ones in the bunks. There were also bedbugs in a few of the rooms (luckily not ours) while we were there. To be fair, they handled the bedbug issue quickly and professionally, but still scary.

Golden Dragon House e una base centrale a Vang Vieng con un feel piu morbido e familiare rispetto ai principali party hostel. Lo staff puo aiutare a organizzare tubing, mongolfiere, paramotore, bici, treni, bus, lavanderia e idee locali, quindi la logistica e facile da sistemare al front desk. Il posto puo essere social, soprattutto per chi viaggia solo, ma di solito e piu pre-drink-e-chill che caos totale. Poppy la cucciola fa parte della personalita della casa. Insieme al piccolo feel familiare intorno alla reception, da all'ostello un ritmo piu casalingo di una fabbrica di dorm standard. La colazione e un vero punto forte qui, con opzioni preparate su ordinazione e abbastanza amore ripetuto da renderla una delle scommesse piu sicure del soggiorno. I letti dorm sono generalmente comodi e spesso hanno tende, prese, luci, mensole e piccoli armadietti. Bagni e docce possono essere molto puliti nei giorni buoni, e l'area comune ha un tavolo da biliardo piu una piccola piscina, anche se la qualita della piscina e incostante. La posizione e camminabile verso bar, ristoranti, night market e 7-Eleven, con notti sia tranquille sia musica alta possibili a seconda di timing e posizione della camera.

- I lavori di ristrutturazione della piscina hanno causato rumore serio a giugno 2026, quindi controlla lo stato attuale prima di prenotare.
- I bagni hanno avuto problemi ricorrenti con scarafaggi, zanzare, sapone, carta igienica, cestini, odori e pulizia irregolare.
- Alcuni dorm e camere private possono essere stretti, caldi, senza finestre, bui o con poco spazio per riporre le cose.
- Sicurezza e assegnazione dei dorm possono essere irregolari: porte non chiuse, armadietti deboli, sistemazione in dorm misto dopo prenotazioni in dorm femminile e comportamento ubriaco a tarda notte sono stati tutti problemi.
- La piscina puo essere sporca o poco invitante, e le camere private possono sembrare di scarso valore rispetto ai dorm.
