I was scared of bed bugs based on the reviews I heard but that was not the case for me. In the room atleast

Overall did not enjoy. I had to use Hostelworld Berlin chat to meet people the social area was dead. I did go on the recommendation of a relative who loved this however so it may have been a bad week. The bathrooms did not feel clean and everything is pretty rustic. There are reports of bedbugs on some rooms. My room appeared to be fine but I had to flip my mattress. Some of the staff were pleasant. The area nearby is very dirty.

It's a hostel and there was a bed bug bite that I had on my leg on my second day. Secondly the heat of June coupled with no air conditioning and my bed located on first floor with window open you can hear noise and people talking in the street.

In de zomer is het veel te warm in de kamers. Daardoor moet je eigenlijk wel met het raam open slapen maar dat betekend ook veel stadsgeluid. Waar dat nog wel de verwachting is in een goedkoop hostel was het hostel daarnaast ook niet hygiënisch en hebben wij bedwantsen aangetroffen

We had bed bugs in our rooms, the beds are pushed against the windows so you can’t open them fully so it gets really hot and stuffy inside. The beds are disgusting, staff is very unhelpful, don’t stay here unless you don’t care about hygiene at all

Ich hatte Bettwanzen in meinem Bett und dem entsprechend sah mein Rücken zerfressen aus. Danke liebes Team für diesen unangenehmen Aufenthalt. Das schlimme daran ist das dieses Zimmer gleich weiter vermietet wurde.

Bedbugs! I’m sorry to say this, but after we found a live bed bug in the first room, we were offered a second room. Unfortunately, we found three bed bugs there as well – although they were dead, it was still very unpleasant. Sadly, we weren’t able to check in.

Hey, so I actually did like my stay here a lot until I found a bedbug the last night of my stay. Now I'm really worried that I could've brought some home with me, so please beware before going here.

The hostel experince was a disaster. Are friend found bed bugs everywhere on his bed. DIDN'T offer us a new room and had to stay up cleaning clothes from 2:00-10:30am. No help no accomodations worst part they asked us to go get the bed sheets for them...... Absolute nightmare of a hostel plzzz avoid if you wanna sleep and avoid having the worst night of your life 🤢🤢🤢

BEDBUGS!!!! BEDBUGS!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! STAY AWAY!! If you are reading this don’t do it, don’t stay here it is not worth it. We stayed at this hostel on the night of the 28th of April and about ten minutes after turning the lights off we were swarmed with bedbugs. We immediately asked the desk clerk for a new room and were told no because “we will bring the bedbugs to the new room”. So with now where to sleep and us checking out the next morning we decided to spend from 3am-10:30am laundering all of our clothes and disinfecting our bags and jackets to hopefully not bring this infestation we’ve acquired at this hostel with us on the rest of our trip. There were six of us in the room so the cleaning took a long time with the one laundry machine and dryer that had available. The dryer also damaged some of our clothes beyond repair. The front desk staff were very kind and apologetic but couldn’t do much to help other than offering sanitizing spray which we very much appreciated. Due to the long time to clean our things and remove the infestation that possibly transferred into our backpacks, we had to miss a tour we had booked and was the main purpose of our trip to Berlin. We also did not sleep at all at night as our room was uninhabitable and didn’t feel like having a bunch of bedbug bites in the morning. We were incredibly disappointed with our experience at this hostel and were told we couldn’t get a refund as the bedbugs weren’t their fault. I would like to point out that these were not all small bedbugs, it was the whole range of the family from grandpa to baby so they had been there for a while.

The hostel was a massive disappointment. Me and 5 friends were staying with the hostel between April 28th and 29th, and were planning to do some local tours and exploration. The rooms seemed fine at first, not excessively clean but tolerable. However, after the lights were out and we as a group were ready to sleep, one of us found an adult bed bug next to his head on the pillow. Further inspection found several more. The bugs were definitely adults, due to their brown colouration. After reporting this to the front desk, we were denied a new room and only offered free laundry and beer. In an effort to prevent the spread as we had other places to visit after this hostel, we spent the entire night doing 6 people worth of laundry. When the cleaning crew finally arrived around 6 am, we were lent some alcohol based cleaner to disinfect our bags. We ended up missing a key tour that could not be rebooked due to this. Some of our clothes were also damaged by the drying machine, as they were not normally washable in that way but needed to be disinfected. The hostel refused to reimburse us, stating that is was not their fault the room had bed bugs. The hostel failed to clear the bar for minimum support, then would not acknowledge its failings. I would not recommend staying here.

BED BUGS ARE EVERYWHERE. Noticed all the bed bugs crawling out as soon as the lights turned off. Staff was friendly but basically said "we can't move you, we can offer free washing and drinks". The washing machines will shrink your clothing, and the wash + dry takes abour 2 hours. We were a group of 6, so this was quite a long process with no support. Also, drying does not properly dry, so we've had to dry everything with a blow dryer one by one. Staff did not give us another room and do anything about the bed bugs. NO REFUNDS WERE GIVEN. We had absolutely no sleep, as we were busy washing all of our clothing. When we did try, we got kicked out of the lobby and told to sleep in the bed bug infested room. Absolutely would not recommend if you're traveling. Because of this ordeal, we've missed a tour booking, which they also did not care for.

Yo sé que esto puede pasar en una habitación compartida pero todos los compañeros roncaban y la que tuve que pagar 1€ para los tapones fui yo... También había chinches. Uno de los días abrieron la puerta de mi habitación los empleados diciéndome que tenía que hacer checkout y había habido un error y se supone que se había solucionado pero al salir de la habitación y querer volver a entrar, no funcionaba mi tarjeta, fui a decirlo y lo solucionaron. pero luego cuando quise entrar por la noche, me di cuenta de que me habían quitado las sábanas y tirado los tapones. Tuve que bajar muy tarde y muy cansada a pedir otros. La habitación en general estaba limpia pero la mesa del centro de la habitación tenía muchas cosas y comida en mal estado, al lado de las ventanas había muchas cosas y bolsas de comida con moho. Y tuve que ir preguntando todos los días al resto de compañeros si eso era suyo. Y todos me dijeron que no, así que todo eso llevaba días ahí y era de gente que ya ni estaba alojada en la habitación.

During the night I felt itching every now and then, a girl in my room had bed bug bites on her legs. The shower were clean, the room seemed clean. The hostel is located on a busy road. Kitchen tools were so so.

I had been forewarned by a friend who had stayed there a year prior and had brought home a bed bug infestation. So I flip the mattress and lo and behold is a veritable pile of eggs. I took the attached picture and showed it to the front desk. They were very friendly, but tried to tell me that I was seeing might just be the aftermath of an infestation that had been “dealt with”. So either they did have a proper extermination and just didn’t clean up afterwards or someone did a quick once over and called it done. They put me in a different room and the unoccupied beds there pass the inspection. Cut to my last night there and one of the other guests tells me that his bed has bed bugs. Also the guest kitchen lacks proper cooking knives.

Es gibt bettwanzen, absolute Katastrophe!

Wir haben ein 4er Zimmer Gebucht und haben ein 6er Zimmer bekommen. Im 6er Zimmer war auch nur Platz für 4 Personen. Mein Bett ist fast auseinander gefallen als ich mich drauf gelegt habe. Richtiger scheiß Palast ich würde jedem Lehrer abraten eine Klassenfahrt dorthin zu machen. Fast alle Zimmer haben Bettwanzen, es war richtig scheiße. Scheiß Personal und sehr unhö.

Good location. The staff is nice. Matress and pillow are very thin. In the shower you have to keep pressing the button or the water will stop coming out. I think there are bugs in the beds because me and my friends have bug bites. The access to the kitchen and fridge is from 7am to 10pm, it would be better 24/7. It is right next to the train station so you have the noise.

Ottima posizione ma cimici da letto !!! Ho avuto molte punture sulle braccia e schiena e sono molto dolorose e fastidiose! Lo staff mi ha chiesto foto delle punture di er un eventuale risarcimento ma non si sono più fatti sentire!

FAT warning they have bed bugs 😰🤮 It was my second time at the industry Palast hostel and it was absolutely disgusting 🤢 they had Strange black dots on the beds which I am sure were bed bugs and there were boogers on the ceiling 🙀 it was so bad here that I got a foot infection on my foot while showering! DONT GO HERE IFYOU WANT BED BUGS!! I was trying to sleep and complained about the noise and the dog and cat someone brought in the other room! Just don’t go here if you want to go to the doctor nonstop. The windows are not clean and someone left a kiss lip on my window?!

I've stayed in enough hostels across the world to be confident in saying this was the most disappointing experience i've had. I found bed bugs around my bed at 23:00 on my second night of a four night stay, and the front desk offered me two options: Get refunded for the remaining two nights but leave the hostel, and a complimentary laundry service to clean my clothes. At almost midnight in winter i'm not going to try and find another hostel to stay in and any hostel would've cost over twice the amount i'd have been refunded per night. As a result i've had to spend my last morning in Berlin cleaning my clothes on high heat which has ruined some of my clothes and also had to buy new clothes to wear whilst ALL of my belongings are in the wash. Ontop of that new people were still coming into the room which to me shows that hygiene and customer wellbeing isn't a top priority here, surely the room should've been vacated and properly fumigated to get rid of the bugs. Also the pillows just feel like a bag of cotton balls and aren't comfortable to sleep on. Avoid my experience and stay at a different hostel. The location is alright but i'm sure there are better places around.

I got checked in incorrectly and had to switch rooms, and the room i moved into had bed bugs. The resolution to this was either put up with it and get a free laundry cycle, or get refunded for the two nights i had left to stay and find somewhere else to stay. This happened at 11pm where it would be difficult to find somewhere else to stay and also would've cost more than the refund. I've spent the final day of my time in berlin washing and drying my clothes which has ruined some of them. Bad

Overall this hostel is very run down After 1h in the room, I saw and got bitten by bedbugs (room 111). The infestation must be major Followed un unpleasant conversation with the staff of the hotel and then I left 2 star because i got a refund immediately

Des punaises de lit. 😱 Les matelas, en plus d'être infestés de punaises de lit, sont quand même vraiment anciens. On sent les ressorts. Les douches (face à l'escalier) pourraient être plus nettoyées (niveau des joints au sol), le jet est hyper fort et ne dure que 7 secondes. Au final, on a payé plus de 100€ par nuit parce que nous avions nos enfants. Avec les punaises de lit, etc, ça fait vraiment cher.

Got bed bugs all over my face and my whole body - no refund offered!

The staff is very friendly and the location is good, but unfortunately the place has a serious bedbug problem!!! the beds were full of them, and overall cleanliness could be much better, also, if you’re a light sleeper, this is not the place for you, because you can hear trains, ambulances, and people drinking and shouting outside all night long.

My stay in the Industriepalast hostel was a grim one. There is nothing else to say apart from the fact that my bed was infested with bed bugs. This can happen everywhere, of course, but it was the first time this had happened to me. Unfortunately, I only realised after my stay, when it was too late. I was stubborn and put off all my bites as mosquito bites until I saw one crawling. The rooms are very spacious, the beds are relatively comfortable, and they charge extra for sheets and towels. Service is okay. The common area is cool, and the location is great for people looking to party in Berlin. My review is tainted by the fact that I encountered bed bugs, and I hope this is not the case for everyone, of course. But that was my experience.

WARNING: they have bed bugs!! I was here in February for one night, didn't notice them and brought them home with me. Worst thing that has ever happened to us, very poor hygiene and bizarre that you have to pay for infested sheets.

I found a bed bug crawling in my room in broad daylight. I get it: even the cleanest hostels and hotels will get these occasionally from guests and it’s not their fault. What they are in control of is how they respond. All I wanted was to change rooms--to one of the hundreds of others this gigantic building surely has. But to the staff, this wasn’t a big enough issue to warrant this. They were dismissive and defensive, even after I showed them pictures and the physical specimen. According to them, bedbugs are just any other pest animal that lives with humans. They didn't believe me and said I found a dead one(?). They said they didn’t know if there was one, or many, so how should they know what action to take? (hint: it’s the same regardless). They did offer me laundry, which was nice, but doesn’t solve the problem which is I don’t want to sleep in a room with bedbugs. This was afternoon before the day's check-in, so the staff were not busy. I was persistent enough that I got to speak to a manager and they eventually put me in a new room. This also meant the original staff were lying about all the other rooms being full, because my new room was only half occupied that night. Afterwards, they continued to put people into my old room, which I saw while I was moving my things out. So 1) They weren't going to treat the room and 2) They were knowingly putting guests into a room with photographic evidence of bed bugs. My rating reflects my actual experience, but reviews are for future guests so I felt obligated to include this here

Verbleven in dit hostel gedurende een school trip naar Berlijn. Verhalen gehoord over bedwantsen en andere slechte dingen. Heb een goede tijd gehad, de kamer waar ik verbleef was schoon en vrij ruim. Prima voor 4 personen. Verder had het hostel een heerlijk ontbijt met veel keuze en een ruimte in de lobby om te poolen, dat was erg leuk. Dit hostel is zeker aan te bevelen!

Zimmer waren unsauber, hatte Bettwanzen (!!) und das geht echt gar nicht. Habe mich dadurch richtig unwohl gefühlt, vor allem im Vergleich zum letzten Aufenthalt. Empfang an der Rezeption hätte dieses Mal auch wesentlich besser sein können.

had to sleep on chairs on a 3 day school trip, rooms were awful bedframe had bogeys on it with al kinds of stuff such as blood mixed in with earwax and hairs. urine stains on the mattress as the beds weren't cleaned properly. got so bad I hate to sleep on 3 chairs with the duvets due to reviews mentioning bed bugs. food was awful breakfast mostly contained bread rolls everyday I stayed there. shower was difficult to use as you'd move the shower know slightly left and it would turn into boiled kettle water level as I burnt myself trying to adjust it too a normal temp. didn't feel safe as a random guy came up to our rooms at 1am telling the girls on our trip to come outside and staying there until a teacher had to deal with it. The creep had also followed my teacher to her hotel room. overall a bad experience and I do not advise anyone to ever go there again even if it is a cheap £18 per night the price says it all. pictures below how clean the beds were.

The location is really good, specially having Warschauer station in front of it, staff was nice. The really bad part are the bed bugs, I am allergic to it and got many bites, also the risk to bring it to my own home.

Unfortunately I found a bed bug on my matress. The showers are a bit out of control in terms of water pressure is super high, so it pierces your skin. There are also no curtains on the bunk beds, which I find great in other hostels. Staff is friendly tho and the people I met there were nice as well.

Place had bed bugs. Luckily they gave us back our money, which was nice, but hygiene is bad. Location is well for going out in Friedrichshain.
