I stayed at this backpackers recently and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. After my stay, I developed insect bites all over my back, which I strongly suspect were bed bugs. Although the beds appeared clean, the itching was uncomfortable and concerning. Another issue was the bed setup. The electricity charging ports are not conveniently located, so if you’re staying on the top bunk you need to climb up and down just to charge your phone, which was very annoying. On top of that, the top bunk bed was quite noisy. The shared facilities were also a downside. There are only two toilets and showers for a large number of guests (more than 20?), which often resulted in long waiting times. On the positive side, the backpackers is located in a nice area and the garden is quite pretty. However, it is not very convenient to get to, especially from the airport. It’s also a fair walk from the town centre and involves walking uphill, which can be difficult if you’re carrying luggage or not driving.

Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. To our dismay, we discovered bed bugs during our stay, which not only caused discomfort but also raised health concerns. We urge other travelers to consider alternative accommodations in the area to avoid similar experiences. It’s crucial for a lodging place to ensure cleanliness and safety, and Montacute Bunkhouse fell short on these basic expectations. Please look elsewhere when booking your stay in Hobart.

I do not recommend you stay here. My group all got bed bugs after our stay. Disgusting! The owner was super rude about it and made some fairly racist remarks to different members of our group. Stay away.

TERRIBLE HOSTEL!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner is extremely rude and racist. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There were bed bugs and our entire groups rooms were infested with them.

Montacute Boutique Bunkhouse e una vecchia casa a Battery Point con pavimenti scricchiolanti, mobili antichi, vista dal balcone e una sensazione cozy da sharehouse. Sta vicino a Salamanca Market, docks, cafe, pub e waterfront, quindi Hobart si fa facilmente a piedi da qui. La grande cucina e una delle parti piu forti del posto: e spaziosa, ben attrezzata e utile per cucinare davvero invece di sopravvivere a noodles istantanei. Ci sono aree comuni per leggere, chiacchierare, scaldarsi o semplicemente sedersi dopo una giornata in citta, piu extra pratici come te e caffe gratuiti, parcheggio, lavanderia, asciugacapelli, caricatori, luci da lettura e borse dell'acqua calda quando fa freddo. I letti sono spesso comodi, l'acqua calda e di solito forte e la casa puo sembrare familiare quando tutto gira. L'atmosfera e piu quieta e domestica che caos da party hostel, con una folla di eta miste e molte persone che fanno la propria cosa. E anche un ostello imperfetto e molto personale. I bagni possono essere stretti, datati, limitati e non sempre puliti; il vecchio edificio trasporta facilmente i suoni; e la presenza del proprietario in loco puo sembrare intensa o scomoda. Funziona meglio per viaggiatori che vogliono posizione, carattere, accesso cucina e vibe di casa low-key, non alloggio boutique lucidato o grande scena sociale.

- I bagni possono essere stretti, datati, limitati o non puliti abbastanza nei momenti pieni.
- La vecchia casa scricchiola e ha pareti sottili, quindi chi dorme leggero dovrebbe portare tappi.
- La privacy nei dormitori puo essere limitata, con letti superiori senza tende in almeno parte del setup.
- Il proprietario e molto presente in loco, e le interazioni possono sembrare polarizzanti o scomode.
- Le viaggiatrici potrebbero voler valutare con attenzione privacy e confini prima di prenotare.
- Il Wi-Fi puo essere inaffidabile, e l'accesso alla ricarica non e ideale per ogni letto.
- Alcune stanze possono sembrare fredde, piccole, polverose o con poco spazio per riporre cose.
