I loved this place. Stayed 3 nights. Really cool spot, super social with many events. The rooms were great, and the facilities were amazing. Food was decent, convenient with a bar available. Locals worked here. Location is not the best, and you have to walk down many steps to get to the hostel. But the view from the hostel is stunning! Laundry literally next door. Dive school also next door. Unfortunately, I got bed bugs the first night, I spoke with the front desk to ask for another bed and was switched immediately.

Nice hostel and the staff were lovely. Good social area and nice views of sunset. I was put in a basement room which was dark, and the ac was only on from 7pm-11an so it got quite hot in there. Also woke up with about 50 small bites, so there’s either bed bugs or insects in the room.

Outpost Beach Hostel ligt direct aan het water in El Nido, met zonsondergangsuitzichten die veel van het zware werk doen. De belangrijkste draw is de sociale setup: nightly games, trivia, drinkevents, hosteltours, een druk bargedeelte en een grote gedeelde ruimte die solo reizen makkelijk maakt als het doel is snel mensen ontmoeten. Personeelsenergie is een groot deel van de plek, met namen als EJ, Jasmine, Maya, Edna, Kim, JC, Mia, Ejay en Mayan gekoppeld aan warme check-ins, hulp en een vriendelijke mood. Het hostel is beter voor party-brained reizigers dan voor quiet reset mode. Muziek, microfoons, karaoke en drinking games kunnen luid doorgaan, en de common areas kunnen intens voelen wanneer het avondprogramma aan staat. Kamers en badkamers kunnen schoon en comfortabel zijn, met goede airco op plekken, comfortabele bedden op plekken en ruime badkamers op plekken, maar de setup is inconsistent: wifi bereikt kamers mogelijk niet, mobiel signaal kan wegvallen, douches kunnen koud zijn, water kan uitvallen en opslag of haakjes rond bedden en douches kunnen beperkt zijn. De strandtoegang is deel van de charme en deel van de hassle. Bij hoogwater kan het water de trappen bereiken, bagage kan nat worden en de achterroute kan donker, rough of awkward voelen. De locatie is scenic maar niet centraal, dus El Nido town betekent meestal een tuk-tuk, scooter, shuttle of heuvelachtige wandeling. Het beach view is sterk; direct voor de deur zwemmen is mogelijk niet het punt. Eten, tours en gemak zijn on-site beschikbaar, wat helpt omdat het hostel weg van town ligt. Dat gemak kan duur worden, en regels rond eigen eten, water, was, tourkosten en refunds kunnen strikter of minder transparant voelen dan verwacht. Kom voor zonsondergangen, snelle sociale vaart en een luide beachfront basis; skip het als de trip rustige nachten, makkelijke toegang tot town of voorspelbare faciliteiten nodig heeft.
